We did the Chefs Tasting Menu:MUHAMMARA / CLASSIC HUMMUS / EGGPLANT / HERB FALAFELCOLORADO LAMB CHOPS & GRILLED BRANZINOLAMB ADANA KEBAB & MAITAKE MUSHROOM MEDJOOL DATE & CHOCOLATE CAKE - Cardamom Ice Cream, Tahini Caramel, Walnut Wafer (Nuts)& MANGO CASSATA - Rice Mousse, KataifiMy favorite part was the appetizer platter, especially the eggplant and classic hummus. I was tempted to order more of the hollow, crispy pita bread. Honestly, no misses with the rest of the dishes. $68 is pretty good deal for you and friends to explore the menu. However, appetizer platter aside, portion sizes are small. So if you are a 20-30 year old guy, you'll probably still be hungry like me. No issues with service. Plenty of seating inside. I would return to try the regular menu.

Went to Sifr for a light dinner. The food is not cheap but, unlike many other Chicago restaurants with overpriced food, the dishes that I had were actually delicious. Still it bothers me that 4 years after COVID restaurants charge 4% surcharge - it'd be more genuine and less deceptive to just increase the prices on the menu. I'll come back.

The ambiance at Sifr is 10/10 and not lacking. The inside is beautiful and romantic and we enjoyed sitting up on the rooftop patio. We ordered the non-veg mezze platter for two and while the food was good, it wasn't extraordinary. My mind immediately went to the salatim platter you can get at Laser Wolf in Philly and it was a comparison I shouldn't have made because it only made me miss the mezze spread at Laser Wolf. For what it's worth, the mezze platter at Sifr is a nice sampler but not worth $40 as it's certainly not filling and requires another dish or two. We ended up ordering the maitake mushroom dish and was glad we did as the mushrooms were flavorful and the sauce lying underneath was delicious. Service was great- we were seated promptly and our server checked in on us consistently throughout the meal.

Our second time here. We love the food and drinks. Service at bar was great. Went on the rooftop afterward to check out vibe, perfect atmosphere for date night.

Beautiful restaurant with an even better rooftop for nice weather! We first got a happy hour drink and snack at the bar then headed up to our table. The mezcal drink I had was very sweet, so I switched to a nice glass of red for my meal. The fried chicken on the happy hour menu was more like fried popcorn chicken but tasty with a nice garlic sauce.Between four of us, the non vegetarian mezze platter was nice to share as an appetizer. Everything was delicious and flavorful. I liked the warm pita especially. The mixed grill platter was also a great entree to share and feed four of us perfectly for $120. This was a great deal to get a nice mix of all the different meats and seafood - on the pricier side but great for sharing. The flavors were delicious as well.Service was excellent too. I would definitely recommend for a nice Mediterranean meal!

Easily one of my favorite restaurants in Chicago. Sifr meaning zero in Arabic signifies a fresh start (starting from zero). The beverage menu is fun in that the names of the drinks are the numbers in Arabic #1-6. The food is delicious. As a Middle Easterner, I think Sifr nailed the flavors. It transported me to the Middle East. Dishes I highly recommend -- the vegetarian mezze, tiger prawns, scallops, batata harra, branzino (half a green sauce and half a red sauce) the lamb shank, and the pilaf. The lamb shank and branzino are larger portions. The service was great. Dishes and drinks came out a reasonable time. Everyone was so friendly. Ambiance was great, the music wasn't too loud. They have a rooftop patio which is also nice!

Sifr is owned by same chef who owns Indienne. And the quality is unmatched. Went for the tasting menu which hardly costed around $60 but totally worth it. The food is drooling and so fresh. Ambience is lively and romantic. Would again want to go here with my friends

My partner and I were wowed by the ambiance and interior of this place. There's also a rooftop upstairs that lets you have a nice view of the area. The food was underwhelming unfortunately. We ordered a non veg mezze platter that I thought was pretty mid. None of the dishes really blew my mind, which is disappointing because I had been convincing my partner to go here since reading the article on Eater late last year. Both the chicken and lamb had hints of basic spices, were relatively tender but chewy. I thought they still lacked the complexity of and depth of flavor

After a long day, one of my friends suggested we go to Sifr. I'm always down for a fun new restaurant. I was blown away. We had exceptional cocktails followed by top-notch food. Admittedly, I am an ambiance snob, and Sifr was exceptional! Great vibes and even better food. If you're in the area - put this place on your list!

Beautiful restaurant, amazing service, & great food! The hummus is pretty good and pairs very well with the pita bread. They even have a fried version of the pita if your are feeling adventurous. Every time I see halloumi on the menu, I have to order it and I will say this one was pretty good. If you are vegetarian and like mushrooms, I recommend getting the maitake mushroom! It's a really hearty and flavorful dish with the yellow pepper curry as a base! I was totally taken by surprise but the summer pea & fava manti was amazing probably one of best things I had here!! I wasn't going to order it but our server said we wouldn't be disappointed and he was definitely right! I though the batata harra and falafel was okay... don't think I would get those again next time. The zaatar bread was decent but I've had better.
