Siena Tavern

Family and I went here to celebrate my wife's birthday. Cristian H our server was FANTASTIC! A+++ He was knowledgeable about the menu and patient as it was some our first time here. I had the Brick Chicken w/ potatoes, my wife had the Truffle Mushroom Pizza, my mother-in-law and sister in-law had the Roasted Salmon w/ Cauliflower Formaggio. Lastly, my brother in-law had the 22oz. Ribeye. Let me tell you ABSOLUTELY NOTHING was bad! Everything was EXCELLENT!. The chicken was juicy (all pieces) and the sticky parm. potatoes were well seasoned, not oily and not over-powered with parmesan cheese. Right amount of crunch, just tasty. It was probably the first time in a longggg time that my brother in-law's steak was the correct temperature. Even the drinks were great. I had the Frozen Mint Limoncello and my wife had The Imposter. We all ate and finished our food! No leftovers here. Surprisingly, we were offered dessert due to my wife's birthday. That took was ALL by total surprise. That was a nice touch and we thanked Christian immensely. We all said, we definitely will be back. A+++"Gone....." -JV

The food was good and service was adequate. So I won't say it was bad, but it was sort of just barely meeting expectations at a high price point. In the end, we didn't hate anything but also weren't drawn back to come here.

Siena Tavern is a beautiful modern Italian spot in downtown Chicago. The service and drinks were amazing, however, I found that the food was a bit lackluster. Our waitress was lovely and answered all of our questions with a smile, so I give an extra star for this. I also LOVED the No. 8 cocktail, which surprised me because I hate tequila.Now to the food-we tried a variety of items: Pizza (1/2 Truffle Mushroom 1/2 Margherita-I do love that they allow for 1/2 pizza); Gnocchi (nice texture but needed more salt and flavor); Rigatoni Vodka (needed more sauce and again...flavor); and Brussels (sadly very bland).I really had high expectations so I hate to not be able to give more stars.

It was pretty packed on a Friday evening and the seating was uncomfortable (the chairs were very tall and tables too far) so it made the whole experience a little less enjoyable. For the prices, the portion sizes were disappointing and the flavors were nothing to write home about. Would not necessarily return when there are plenty of other places nearby that can just as easily impress.

Have you ever had a dish so good you want to eat it quickly but you decide to take it slow and savor it? That was my lasagna at Siena, with a good Super Tuscan wine to complement.Service was good, as was ambience . I am coming back for more.

Beautiful restaurant with even better food! We came here for a family gathering and the food and drinks were amazing. Our server was kind and completely on top of every request. I couldn't even picture all the food because we ate it up so fast haha. I would absolutely come back here next time I'm in Chicago. We also happened to run into friends who were here for a birthday dinner date. I love how intimate your table can still feel for such a busy restaurant.

As with many of Fabio Viviani's concepts, Siena Tavern aims to exceed expectations and elevate simple dishes. On these two points, they succeed swimmingly.Aside from the absolutely delicious appetizers, pizza, and pasta, Siena Tavern served up stimulating conversation with its bar staff, keeping us entertained all through our meal.

This restaurant has great service and a wonderful fine dining experience! The rigatoni was really good and was surprisingly filling! I do wish they put more burrata, however, as it felt that there was barely any. The cauliflower was very well cooked, and had a great crispy texture which the sauce on the side went really well with.

Siena Tavern is a very fun and cute restaurant in the River North neighborhood. I came here with some friends for dinner this week and even on a Tuesday evening it was bustling! Definitely a great place for good vibes, food and drinks. I really wanted pasta so I ordered the rigatoni alla vodka. This is a very filling dish! My friend ordered the brick chicken and it looked so good and juicy! If you are looking for something to share the caramelized Brussels sprouts are delicious !We were too stuffed to get dessert, however the options looked great. So next time I am looking forward to also ordering one of the yummy desserts ! Great spot for dinner or drinks! Check it out!
