My sister was in search of an authentic Thai dish called "Khao Soi" she had in Thailand a few months ago, and this was the first place in Boston that checked all the boxes! The chicken was so tender and delicious, and the broth was packed with flavor with the perfect amount of spice. In addition to the Khao Soi, we endeavored on the scallion pancakes, fried gyoza, and Somerville fried rice. This place did not disappoint, especially at such a great price point! Our server was very attentive as well, and the staff was very friendly.

I ordered drunken noodles for delivery and one thing I appreciated so much was that it included not only a spring roll but also crab Rangoon! Typically I am left wishing I could replace the spring roll with a crab Rangoon (which most places do not do), but here I did not have that struggle. I also enjoyed how the food was still hot when it arrived. The noodles were consistent throughout. There have been times where l've ordered drunken noodles from other places and some parts are white since the sauce did not reach them. The texture was perfect; soft (like rice cakes) but not falling apart. The taste was really good, and it was not too spicy so you were able to capture all the different flavors including basil leaves, protein, and veggies. And speaking of veggies, they all tasted fresh and there was a good amount of them. The shrimp was a good size and cooked well, and the chicken was thinly sliced but not dry. The spring roll was crispy and the filling was tasty. The crab Rangoon was a bit different than traditional crab rangoons in that the filling had a curry hint to it and it was yellow-ish rather than white.

This review is about takeout orders.Between 2019 to mid 2022 they would've been 4 stars. When we moved to the area in 2019, Siam Ginger was our go-to for my thai cravings. I've never dined in, I usually do pickup orders since I live within walking distance. Their pad thai is our most frequently ordered item, other than that we get their spring rolls, crab rangoons, pineapple/ mango / somerville fried rice, the curries, drunken noodles, chicken noodle soup and wonton soup.I understand that the pandemic affected a lot of businesses to increase prices although during this time it peeved me to collect a new takeout menu to order from them later that same week to get a total that is more than what's calculated from the menu I got (and yes I factored in the tax). You can say that's a personal issue, but I collected another takeout menu upon pick up of my order and the prices were the same as my previous menu from earlier that week, why have them on display if they don't reflect your current prices??So I started ordering online because the prices reflected were kept up-to-date. This was going fine till it became a REQUIREMENT to tip before you can check out an online order for pick up. Why am I tipping before I even get to experience anything? I haven't communicated with a person yet, which 8/10 times they're not very friendly when you go to pick up your order. I haven't seen nor tasted the food that I have ordered yet to know if it is up to par with the standards they've set for me because there have been times were the food isn't up to par but I'll try them again soon after and there back up to par. Anyways, let me not get into my views on the entitled tipping culture in this country..I had taken a break from them for a few months and fast forward to March 2023 I decided to order a pad thai one day because I was craving it. When I took the container of pad thai out the bag I was confused if the container was always this size, it seemed a bit smaller than usual. I keep a collection of take out containers as extra tupperware which most are collected from Siam Ginger. So for comparison I took out one of the containers from a past order and they were not the same size.. So not only has the prices gone up, they've reduced size of the containers thus reducing the serving sizes!!! I used to be able to get 3 servings out of their pad thai, now it's about 1.25 servings (for myself only). Now we're in Jan 2024, with the last order being in March. My husband felt for a wonton soup and got it from here. It costed $7.50 with tax for it, understandable that it cost more now than it did the last time we ordered a wonton soup BUT they've reduced the container size for that as well!! It used to be an 18oz container which is filled to about 14-15oz line. Last night he received a 16oz container and it was only filled barely the 10oz line !! I'm surprised the wonton count was still 3 instead of 2, I wouldn't be surprised if those were smaller pieces than before! I should have taken a photo of it.If the food remained the same quantity and the prices went up I'd be very understanding but to increase the prices and reduce the serving size is absolutely upsetting, it's dishonourable!

Pretty decent thai food in the somerville area. The food didn't really wow us but they had no problem accommodating our special requests (and we had plenty requests). Wish the tofu pieces in my pad woo sen were bigger :0 My boyfriend said the somerville fried rice is highly recommended (without the tomatoes)

Absolutely loved Siam Ginger!! It gets pretty busy in here but it's for a good reason. The interior is awesome with cool graffiti from local artists. The food was unreal with delicious flavors and spices. Can't wait to come back or do takeout.

Really great Thai place to check out when you're in union square! It was fairly quiet in there on a Saturday afternoon but we may have come in after the lunch rush. The staff was really nice and welcoming and helped give us recommendations. Their Thai iced tea comes with the cutest dog shaped ice cube which was a nice touch for a casual spot. We started with the Tom yum which was as expected, but nothing to write home about. We loved their drunken noodles and the crab Rangoon have curry powder in them which made them a super unique find. The mushroom puffs were almost too pretty to eat and delicious. The crispy chicken basil was a very solid entree, highly recommend that one! We ended with the fried banana with fried ice cream which was obviously great.

If you're looking for affordable, tasty, thai food, and fun this is the place to go! Every dish was flavorful and filling I especially liked the satay and the peanut sauce to dip. The Siam fried rice was everything I needed: lil bit of seafood, meat, vegetables and the tom yum soup was comforting. I loved the thai tea but they have so many interesting and fun drinks I definitely want to come back here and try them with friends

My friend and I were in the area and stopped by for a quick dinner. It was a bit late (and extremely rainy) when we got here, so there was only one other table taken, but there was a periodic stream of people with takeout orders. We ordered the pad thai krob, pad kra pow with beef, and the mango sticky rice. Pad thai krob was the highlight - yummy crispy noodles, juicy chicken, a generous helping of peanut powder, and overall just a very delicious and enjoyable bowl. Pad krapow was a bit mediocre - flavour was a bit bland (in particular lacking in the usual aromas / spices that I expect from pad krapow dishes) and not very spicy at all. Mango sticky rice was unfortunately quite disappointing - the rice was not sweet and a bit tasteless, and the mango had a bit of a sour aftertaste. (Perhaps not surprisingly so, though, since mangoes are out of season, but still disappointing considering the dessert features mangoes quite prominently).Overall, a rather average meal - if I do come back I would be keen on trying some other noodle dishes.

Staff really nice. We showed up 30 mins before closing and they didn't turn us away but instead served us quick and didn't talk crap or whisper when we took our time eating. Food was really good. Tons of flavor and a great selection. However, I am allergic to shrimp and most of the dishes on the menu had shrimp. I didn't mind I am use to it and also because I found something without shrimp and it was amazing. Oh and they serve a mean Mai Thai. If they weren't closing I would have had another.
