Stopped by for lunch yesterday and my colleagues and I were very impressed with the menu. It had a variety of Asian cuisines, but not too many. I order the lunch special bento box and couldn't finish it. My colleagues ordered the beef (bulgogi) ramen and pork belly bento box and didn't finish them either. The service was good. I didn't use the restroom or peruse the place, but on the surface it appeared clean. Light music and appropriate lighting for a hot summer day.I'll definitely be back to try some of the other dishes!

*5/5 Stars - A Hidden Gem!*Wow, where do I begin? The reviews are not a lie - Shu Sushi Grill truly deserves all five stars! We arrived just 40 minutes before closing, but you would never have known it from the warm welcome we received. The staff were incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home, even though it was late.We decided to try the ramen and sushi, and we were not disappointed. We ordered three ramen soups, which came with two free gyoza - such a nice surprise! The broth was perfection, not overly salty (which is a pet peeve of mine) but so rich and flavorful. As for the sushi, it was absolutely delicious! We had two orders of the Philly roll and the Las Vegas roll, and they were spot on. Everything came out quickly and at just the right temperature.A huge shoutout to my fellow Yelpers for recommending this place. I can't wait to come back again! If you're in the area and looking for a great meal with top-notch service, Shu Sushi Grill is the place to be.

My wife and I like trying different restaurants and then when we find one we like, we go there a lot.All the staff are friendly and helpful. Service is fast. The ambiance is Japanese but not trying too hard to look Japanese. So far all the food we have tried is good quality, size and excellent value for the money.The gyoza are very good. The spicy asparagus appetizer is delicious. All meals are served with miso soup which is good and a salad which I like a lot with their sweet carrot dressing.I had the chicken teriyaki which has two chicken breasts, rice, fried egg and a corn salad. The teriyaki sauce is delicious and when combined with the egg, corn and rice is a wonderful combination.My wife got a sushi platter and enjoyed it.I would highly recommend it.

Best place for price factor and for real quality fish.. it's hard to get toro (fatty tuna) and uni... but I was indeed craving for it. I left completely satisfied. The presentation was beautiful but yet we wasn't paying the price of fancy fine dining. The place is a casual yet homey sushi spot. Service was friendly and food was great! The ramen portions are huge!

Was really craving some sushi but this was not a great experience. We ordered sashimi and sushi and you could tell it was anything but fresh. They were covered up every single piece in some kind of lemon garlic powders, green onions and wasabi. I had my child with me so putting wasabi or onions on every piece was not helpful. During our meal, the kitchen guy walked by our table and out the door right by us, when he came back there was a huge smoke cloud of marijuana with him and my daughter even started coughing. He continued to cough all throughout the kitchen as well. Between that and the food, it's easy to say we will not be revisiting this place.

We were at the mall and lost track of time... it was 8:30pm and we wanted Sushi. But where would we find sushi open past 9pm in the burbs?! ((sigh)) Thankfully we found Shu! They are open until 10pm, with last call at 9:45pm. Casual place, with friendly hosts and servers. The Agadeshi Tofu was probably the best I've had here in Arizona. It was served in a big bowl and a ladle so you can slurp up all the yumminess! The sushi was on point too. The salmon sashimi was sprinkled with what we think was garlic powder which we could have done without, but otherwise the fish was delish. My niece also enjoyed her chicken katsu and wants to go back to try the chicken curry. My favorite part of the evening was seeing the kitchen crew walk out when they were done for the night. A couple of older asian ladies (I believe Japanese) walked out and I was delighted. Pretty sure one of them made the bomb AF aghadeshi tofu. Highly recommend!

We randomly stopped by Shu on our way home from Tucson and we were so pleasantly surprised. The food was fantastic and great, friendly service. The server accommodated my vegan diet perfectly. We started with the angry asparagus which was so spicy and delicious. I also had a perfect avocado roll with soy paper and the avocado was perfectly ripe. I also had the vegetarian tofu ramen but subbed the yam noodles because the ramen noodles have egg. I got it spicy and it was amazing. The place was about half full on a Sunday at 2pm and it looks like it was filled with regulars. It was clean and comfortable.I will definitely be back next time I'm in the area! I left full and very satisfied!

Came to this spot looking for sushi in particular, we (3 of us) were told we had to wait because of cleanup on tables we waited for about 10 minutes because the lady cleaning the tables was busy tending to kids they had sitting on tablets at a table. Once we were sat, we then had to wait another 10-15 just to order drinks and appetizers meanwhile the same lady who was cleaning tables went back to the table with the kids and stayed there talking until I asked if we had to order up front. She then told me our waiter works in a certain order by tables and yet there was no one else being helped at that time. When we did get our food, the sushi rolls were very small in size. They were okay. The waitress we did finally get when we got her was nice and attentive. The tables were very close together, may not be back.

This was my first time here, I had the jalapeño roll and tonkatsu ramen. The jalapeño roll is essentially a fried jalapeño popper with crab mix in a roll, first I've ever had like that and it was very good. The tonkatsu ramen was also very good. I would definitely come back.

We've enjoyed eating here since they opened. I'm not particularly fond of whatever they dust the Alaska rolls with and the tables at the booths are ridiculously far from the seats.
