What a gem in Malden! Good service, great food, awesome experience! We came on a Friday evening and the place was pretty empty. It felt clean and had nice decor as well as very quiet given there weren't many people - this usually could swing either way, but in this case we enjoyed the emptiness. The menu had a good mix of dishes, albeit was a bit confusing - we didn't realize you just picked one meat for each of the noodle dishes, but honestly that was fine. Food came out pretty quickly. The drink was huge, great value in my opinion. The entrees were also very large - we left super full! Great price for what it was and we loved how they didn't skimp on the ingredients. The chicken was food as well, but we were too full from the noodles so we didn't get to finish it. Solid snack for later though. If we're ever in the area again, I would love to come back. Thanks, Shi Mial Dao!

Stopped by for lunch after an appointment in the area. Place was pretty empty since it was a weekday afternoon. Decor and interior is nice, good amount of staff, and parking is metered on the street.Didn't want anything too fancy so my mom and I each ordered the original flavor rice noodle soup. Came out super fast and very hot. It didn't look like much in the bowl initially but once you start eating, you realize the portion is large. We chose the most basic version of this dish and there were a surprising amount of food items, from fish cake to a quail egg. Honestly very satisfied with the generous portions as well as the pricing. I'm not from the area but if I was, probably would be an easy spot to go back to.

Looks like a family run restaurant. Came on a weekend for lunch and was seated promptly. Service was also quick. The food was comforting as it was soupy noodles. They have many options and you can build to your own taste preference! Overall decent place.

What a hidden gem located in the heart of Malden Center! This place seems to have been a remake of an older restaurant. It is spacious inside, clean and modern looking. There are tons of metered spaces outside and a small parking lot as well. The servers were friendly with tablets to efficiently and quickly take your orders. Now, let me talk about the food. In short, I gave this place a 5/5. Food comes out very quickly here, as the noodles dishes are probably assembled with pre-cooked ingredients. I can tell you their noodle dishes are absolutely amazing! There is a ton of flavor and despite the bowl looking pretty regular in size and depth, once you start digging in you realize that it just keeps going. There are generous portions of tender flavorful meat, some veggies and other things that I wouldn't be able to describe. Make sure you put the oversized spoon to use and slurp up the rice noodles with a bit of meat and veggies and broth. You will soon find yourself in a food coma! It's so good and comes out quick and costs no more than $15. Although the noodle bowls are the main attraction here, their rice plates are pretty solid as well. Same portion and flavor comments above apply here as well. We also ordered several sides. Our favorite is the fried fish - very crisp outside, flaky inside and a small side of sauce. The spicy pig ear comes with the freshest and most crisp peanuts I've ever had. The pork intestine was scrumptious as well with a garlicky sweet sauce. Scallion pancakes were fried perfectly. The air fried dough was a nice treat as well. If you ask for water, they bring you tap water in a plastic disposable cup. Their mixed drinks (I didn't try it) looks good. Do yourself a favor and hit this place up and thank me later. You will not be disappointed. Its my new favorite place to dine at, in Malden Center. Everyone will eat well and leave happy.

Large portions for the right price and right taste. If you are looking for an affordable place to try new foods without being disappointed this is the place to be! Sichuan is a Chinese peppercorn that is super flavorful and there are a lot of sichuan dishes here that are spicy. I got the spicy sichuan lamb rice noodle and it was perfect balance of noodles, vegetables, and meat. Great flavor and hits the spot especially in the cold weather. The curry fried chicken is Chinese style curry so don't expect the japanese or indian curry here. The curry here is very different and has a more cleaner and bland taste. Welcoming and nice service. Very quick and delicious food. Lots of seating and gets busy during dinner.

Love that this new noodle place opened in the heart of malden. To start off the interior is bright and clean. Love the modern look! The service was good as well, we had to wait when coming on a friday night but the wait was not too long. They had a decent amount of tables for this relatively smaller place. Now as for the food, I got the tomato flavored noodle dish and it was SO GOOD! I love the rich and sweet tomato broth flavor. The noodles were cooked to perfection and I loved the variety of toppings it had from cabbage to corn to the ham and the beef. This is the perfect meal for a rainy or cold day but I would eat it even if it's 100 degrees outside. Will definitely be back and highly recommend!

Good bye ramen, Crossing-the-bridge rice noodles are taking over! Shi Mao is a new rice noodle soup joint in Malden. Their other location is in Quincy. The dish originates from Yunnan province of China. You can order the rice noodle tray (they will bring the piping hot broth to the table) that have all the ingredients separated. Then you can either put everything in at once or add as you go. Of course the raw quail egg will go in first. Pay $1 extra for noodle options like ramen, rice sticks or udon. The last will be your choice of protein (fatty beef, fish fillet, lamb, pork). If you don't feel like DIY, the kitchen staff can bring everything in one pot. Items B1-B4 have this offer. Hint, if you want boiled quail egg option you should ask kitchen staff to cook and bring to the table. The mala broth, even mild spicy was crazy spicy! Original version was good, almost like Tonkotsu. Out of the three broths, the golden hot and sour stood out. Nice balance of spicy and sourClean and speedy service. Place is decent sized especially where they are situated. Malden T stop is 5 mins walk away. My daughter gave a rating of 10/10!

Shi Miao Dao Yunnan Rice Noodle replaces a long time Malden staple, Pho 99. The restaurant is located at 99 Pleasant Street. The Chinese rice noodle restaurant is a great addition to the city's already diverse culinary scene. The restaurant also has a prior location in Quincy, Ma. There was plenty of street parking in the area during dinner time when we visited and seatings once we entered the restaurant. We were seated immediately. First impressions, I love how they completely remodeled the interior and transformed the space. The new interior design is a very modern space with plenty of seating and bright lighting. I especially love the side wall mural, simple and clean. Our waiter that night was very efficient and the food came at a fast past. For appetizer, we ordered a few appetizers to try. My favorite was the crispy fried pork intestine. If you enjoy pork intestines, this is some of the best I have had from a Chinese restaurant. It's crispy and fatty. The scallion pancake was another great appetizer and I usually stay away from this as it's more for the kids as was the takoyaki appetizer that we ordered. However, as leftover the next day, I devoured the leftovers pancakes the next day. They were still super crispy the next day and not oily. We also ordered a tripe appetizer, which was good, but I wouldn't order it again. It is served cold and with a little chili oil, not a lot of flavors. It was cold out and I was craving a spicy hot broth and the spicy Sichuan noodles with lamb and added sliced fish delivered! This was perfect New England cold weather food fare and just the right amount of chili. I love that you can add extra topping which was what I did when I could not decide between lamb and sliced fish, so I got both. Additional meat/seafood/vegetables options were available to choose from as well. My husband ordered the sliced beef tendon noodles which came without a broth. This is the first time I have seen beef tendon sliced this thinly, they must of run the beef tendons through a meat slicer for this level of precision. My son had a tripe and mushroom noodle soup which also had a nice broth. Perhaps what I love best is the ability to customize your noodle soup. One advice I have, you have to ask for all the ingredients to come in individual dishes if you want to cook your noodle at the table, as pictured in the menu. Otherwise, the noodle soups will come with everything cooked in a bowl. Price was very reasonable. I will definitely be back. See my pictures! No

A nice addition to the Malden area. It can get pretty busy during lunch but we were fortunate to get a table easily. They have lots of tables but a bunch of 4 tops were occupied by parties of two. This was my first time having this type of noodle soup. They have a two different styles, a hot pot type style or everything combined in a bowl. I opted for everything all in to conserve table space. Oh boy it was good, from the appetizers to the main course. They also have rice dishes if you don't want something soupy!

We came for dinner after questing at Boda Borg, which is right across the street. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. The ambiance is bright and cheerful and clean. We were there for my daughter's birthday, and I had called ahead and asked if I could leave a cake and decorations there before we quested. They were super accommodating and so helpful and kind. We had a lovely little celebration and my daughter was delighted. Would definitely come here again and recommend to all!
