Sheldon's Service Station

Counter service style place so you can see exactly how busy it is when you arrive, which I really enjoy. Downside is that if your group arrives at different times, you either wait or order/eat at different times.. so maybe not best for large groups. Also downside is if you wanted to get something else like another coffee or mimosa, you need to wait in line again.But this place is one of my favorite brunch spots. A cute small building with green plants around and a no frills vibe - come as you are and eat good food. Known for their coffees, this place roasts a mean cup of joe- and you can choose from a variety of options to customize it!Sheldon's serves a variety of american breakfast staples like eggs Benedict, avocado toast, and waffles. At 11am they also open up their lunch menu which has a variety of wraps, sandwiches, and salads. Make sure you pop your head into the building before getting in line so you can see the chalkboard with their specials - most of the time I order off this menu!! They also have very affordable side items, so if you aren't that hungry or you'd like to customize your own plate, you can easily do that!If you like mimosas, make sure to get their Megamosa, it's pretty much 2-3x the size of a regular one..saving you a second trip to the line! (this place is very popular on the weekend mornings, so be prepared for a line)Love this place and I recommend it any time some one wants to go to brunch!

Went here with my women's group, 13 people Everyone got food and drinks and enjoyed it. I got the Cobb and I have to say good sized portion and delicious Lots of seating that is pup friendly.I got an Arnold Palmer and it was good. Good spot for groups, singles, families, pretty much anyone.

So awesome! Food and coffees were epic. Kids said best breakfast ever! Patio seating was very nice.

My husband found this place for brunch and it was a nice surprise! It is totally outside and they have heaters so you don't feel cold on a chilly cloudy day. Their breakfast menu looks so good, I had a Sheldon's breakfast bowl. It was very delicious! Eggs are well cooked and the bacon is so crispy! Hashbrown is very yummy as well. My husband had a Benedict, it was delicious. The eggs cooked very nicely, which is running out when you cut it up. The service is helpful and friendly. I definitely recommend!

Love the beautiful patio to sit and people watch here! Dog friendly too. Order at the counter and they'll bring your order to your table. Service is friendly and quick. My favorite is the dirty chai!! I've also tried their breakfast burrito and breakfast sandwich. Look forward to trying more items

Stopped by again Easter morning and had the best mocha ever. Love-love-love the friendly staff here and enjoyed the rainy morning under the toasty heater.

Since Sheldon's opened it's continued to evolve and only for the better. (Although I do miss the almond paste filled bear claw, had to be a supplier thing). Great food and coffee drinks and we've yet to find a "great time"' to get seated immediately as they stay busy with patrons. Located at the topArea of the downtown shopping & eating establishments makes it easy to find parking close by though to which is a plus. Nice patio cover helps during any inclement weather also.

Rate 4.5 The menu is very simple but the food is delicious. We ordered the followingSheldon's Benedict - 2 Poached Eggs, Thick Cut Bacon and Roma Tomato served on an English muffin and Topped with Fresh HollandaiseBreakfast Sandwich - 2 scrambled eggs, 2 slices of bacon, Choice of Cheese and Dijonnaise Our beverages Nutty Professor (mexican chocolate + hazelnut) Mexican mocha The drinks were delicious! I like the Nutty Professor concoction! The food was yummy too!!! The Benedict was perfect!! This establishment was very welcoming! I think the owner was even chatting with customers, I liked that, a great way to connect and meet those dine at the restaurant. We will be back again!!!

Great service and best coffee in San Diego! Chef Jason runs a great operation here and have watched this location evolve. La Mesa is the most charming of cities near San Diego it has an amazing vibe much like Coronado it's immaculate and no riff raff. I love the seasonal events and look forward to Rodney Elliotts booking for entertainment each season. See you soon for coffee and music.

Order at the counter, seat yourself. This spot is perfect for a casual meet up or a solo meal! Service was friendly and food was absolutely delicious (and reasonably priced). They have both breakfast and lunch options as well as a coffee bar and baked goods. Get a homemade muffin. Omg. The double chocolate chip was dessert. It was so good. I'm eyeing the banana nut for next time! I enjoyed a panini. The special of the day was a pastrami that was delicious. The sandwiches come with a side of chips, salad or fruit. Love this chill spot to dine and relax over a nice meal!
