Sheffield's Wine & Beer Garden

Great spot with a great selection, both on tap and in the back. The courtyard is the perfect place to sip on some beers with friends and to unwind/kick off a weekend. It's also very close to the Belmont stop, so it's very accessible via several rail lines.No matter your taste in beers, they'll have something for you here.

Decent barbecue in large servings, but nothing really spectacular to recommend the food here. Service was good, although I always wonder about places where the employees are complaining about other employees. The outdoor dining area is really pleasant, but there are bees. If you plan to come here early or late, be sure to check whether they're actually open. The times on Yelp, Google, and their website all disagreed, and none were correct.

Solid happy hour option. Came on a Friday around 5:30, and while it was busy, we were able to find a table with no issue in the front bar area. Our server (can't remember his name!) was great-super friendly, gave beer recommendations, and checked in every once in a while without hovering (we weren't in a rush so took our time with food orders; he'd check in every so often to be sure we weren't feeling neglected but always told us to take our time).They use an online menu, which is fine, but it's not the easiest to navigate-even our server had trouble helping us find the beer. You have to filter the menu to get to the beer selections. Once we figured it out it was okay, but a little bit odd to start.Their beer selection is great, which is to be expected. My friend tried a few different ones, but I found that I liked the Guava Gose Sour so I stuck with that.For food we just did appetizers, and neither of us were impressed. I know this place focuses on BBQ, so perhaps if we had ordered entrees we would have felt differently. We started with the pickle chips, which were probably my favorite. They were fried well and had good flavor-a bit of a kick, but that could be lessened if you're wimp with spice (like me, lol) with the dipping sauce. We later got the sweet potato fries and the pretzel bites. The fries were fine, noting special about them but quite a hearty serving. The pretzel bites were weird as they were filled with cheese (guess we missed that on the menu). They too had a kick to them, so not my favorite.The place did fill up as we sat there, and it did get quite loud and hard to talk. I get that'll happen in a bar; just pointing out that if you're going for a quite place to have conversation, this might not be it once it gets busy. Overall, a solid option for happy hour, though. I'd definitely come back and maybe give an entrée a try.

Walked into Sheffield's before a rain delayed Cubs game. Glad that I did - this place has a warm, comfortable and traditional Chicago bar/restaurant that I love. I was attended to promptly and had excellent service throughout my meal. I very much enjoyed the pulled pork platter. While the pork might have been a little dry, the taste was excellent and the dryness disappeared with their excellent selection of BBQ sauce. Be like me - stop here before a Cubs game!

Sheffield's is a great spot during patio season! There are tons of picnic tables and lights are strung above. On the weekends (or cubs games) it's usually packed. There are no reservations, it's first come first serve to the tables. There's standing room as well, and we usually end up standing with a drink before a table opens up. While Sheffield's is usually pretty loud and bustling, I love it. I appreciate that they have about 8 ciders on their drink menu and unique flavors, too. I got a passion fruit cider, they also had pineapple and strawberry lime. Sheffield's also has a surprising amount of vegetarian options - especially for an American bar type of restaurant. The fried green tomato sliders are my favorite (2 come per order). It comes with a tangy balsamic dipping sauce that pairs perfectly with the goat cheese and tomato. They also have nachos, veggie chili, salads, and a veggie burger. I ordered the veggie burger. The patty was slightly pink from the beets and it was overall very solid.

i got the bbq tacos with pulled pork. the meat was pretty dry. the salsa and tortillas were pretty good though.i also got the revolution anti hero ipa which was really good!our server wasn't necessarily the friendliest but she was attentive and we didn't have any issues. the actual interior has a cool/fun night time vibe, and i like how much seating there is especially with the picnic tables. definitely a place to go for a night when you just want some drinks - just maybe skip the food.

The bouncer and owner are in unison of who comes in and who does not. The line will be out the door until they pick and choose who comes in. The outside is fun but not until the bartender gives you his graces. Don't come unless it's an off night or you know someone here.

I went to this bar with my service dog and the guy at the front door was would not let us in. We said we could show documentation for my disability and the guy literally stood in front of be as my boyfriend was in already saying "oh what you know everything about disabilities don't you". My jaw literally dropped. He was so rude I border line almost cried. The guy at the side entrance let us in and apologized but I was so taken back by how rude he was.

Wow!!! Absolutely delicious meal and drinks! I got the pulled pork bbq tacos and they are some of the best tacos I've ever had! We also got the ghost burger which was delicious as well! Would definitely recommend for the service, ambiance, and food!

Great atmosphere, inviting interior, a fun place to drop anchor and have a beer. Javier was our bartender and was super-friendly and gave us a tour of the place. We will definitely be coming back for the food. The food smelled great - lots of smoked meet options - but we only had time for a drink last night. Solid place.
