Super cute local bakery and fresh goods. It's kind of tucked in but there's a sign to enter. Everything looked yummy and got two bagels to go with banana chocolate bread loaf.

This is a 4.5 star review, and has a potential for a 5 star once I come back :)We came by in the afternoon and grab whatever is left and there was still a good variety. The people there are pretty nice and friendly. It's not in the main area of Mercer island so you definitely need to be looking for it to find it. Bagels 4.5/5 - we got the sesame bagels and the sea salt bagel. Since it was near the end of the day, it wasn't as fresh, but once you toast it, omg it makes a difference. I love the texture, it has a hard crunchy exterior and a soft/fluffy interior. Pretzel rolls 5/5 -- ok this is one of the best pretzel rolls I had. I guess that's why he is famous for this. It was soft and fluffy and has a salty flavor but not too overpowering. We had it the next day and it's still good Cinnamon rolls 4.5/5 -- I'm not sure what type of frosting he use but it's super addicting. I put the cinnamon roll in the microwave for about 20 seconds and it was perfect. It didn't harden up fast like some cinnamon roll I had before.Chocolate chip cookies 3/5 -- unfortunately this was the least favorite. It was pretty standard. The appearance look like there will be some crust edges but it was all soft so kinda disappointing, but it's my personality taste.Overall, a pretty nice place to check out if you're in Mercer island. It's more of a homey casual Bakery compare to the other bakeries on Mercer island. I definitely want to come back to try their challah bread which is only on Friday :)

This place is a gem! It's tucked away from most of the shops on Mercer but easy to find if you are looking for it and there's parking right out front! I ordered a vanilla latte lightly sweetened and also tried the pretzel bun with mustard. Everything was great! I usually don't like pretzel buns but this one is worth trying. I'm a huge fan of mustard in general and I would buy this mustard dip if I could! Lastly, I would say the service is also great! Very personable and I will definitely come back not just for the food and drinks, but also because I enjoyed the conversations I had.

This is a hidden gem on Mercer Island that stands apart from all the bougie places in the downtown area. It's in an unassuming building near the freeway, and you probably wouldn't find it unless you were looking for it, but it's worth checking out. The star here is the pretzel rolls. They are huge, fluffy in the middle, come with a tasty mustard dip, and are good eaten alone or used for a small sandwich. Definitely get several to take with you. Their almond croissant is also really good. It's flaky, gooey, chewy, and sweet all in the best ways. The cinnamon roll we had was alright, a bit too heavy on the butter in the frosting for our taste, and a little dry. Service was friendly as well and pretty quick. All in all it's worth a trip.

Two words: Pretzel Rolls.Shawn's has the best pretzel rolls I've ever had. They are richly flavored on the outside, that perfect baking soda caramelized tang, with a good amount of salt, and then soft and squishy and chewy on the inside. These are worthy and they call for you to make the journey to Shawn's.The challah is also outstanding, a beautiful outside texture vs inside texture contrast, an eggy sweetness on the inside, and only available certain days of the week. If you time it right, you can get warm bread. Last time I drove home with a hot cinnamon roll next to me, and when I got home it was still warm. We're fond of all the baked goods at Shawn's, and appreciate the fact that this is very much not a chain, rather a small sole-proprietor bakery, with Shawn pulling the hot rolls out and then handing you one.

Stopped in for a latte today and pastries. We had the cinnamon roll and almond croissant. Everything was delicious and I especially loved that things weren't outrageously overpriced like every other place on Mercer Island. Will definitely be coming back!

Every time I drive by here it's closed. Again, I'm here and you're supposed to be open. I checked the hours (again) before I drove over. I give up.

I stopped by the bakery to get a cup of coffee and a pretzel. My puppy was thirsty so I asked if I could get a glass of tap water. I was told that the place doesn't give out tap water and if I want to get water I need to buy the one in the plastic bottle.I personally don't drink water out of plastic bottles, especially since the quality of tap water in Seattle is pretty good. But in any case, I didn't think that this kind of response from the staff was acceptable. Tap water was within reach just a few feet away and there was no particular reason why the staff could not accommodate the customer.

Food: - Black sesame bagel 3/5, really chewy and dense. - Cinnamon roll, croissant and more for the rest of the group: not bad, fairly standard for bakery. Ended up stopping by here on our way out from Mercer Island, should've stopped here first to have better selection! By the time we came, at near noon, there was only the one bagel variety.

We were looking for a place to grab a bagel on our way to an appointment (we don't live in the island) and found this spot on Yelp. We're so happy we went. We ended up getting a pretzel bun and a panini (forgot the bagel because everything sounded so good!) and they were both fantastic. The panini had thick turkey slices on it and the perfect crispy outside, and the pretzel bun was unreal. We thought about going back after our appointment! We will definitely be back.
