If you're looking for strong, affordable, classic drinks in the city you can't go wrong with an Irish pub/bar. The bartenders were super nice and were very attentive. It's a classic dive bar kind of vibe so if you're going for aesthetic you'll need to go somewhere else but if you're going for the alcohol, this is your place.

Classic dive/pub feel with a selection of drafts and cans. Came on a Thursday nigjt while waiting for a reservation nearby and it was busy, but we were able to find a spot in the back near the pool table. The free popcorn was a plus - love when bars have a snack for people to munch on!

Great hidden gem dive bar in river north amongst more upscale fancier spots. Here you can grab a beer or drink without frills or upcharged price. You can also get the crispiest juicy, piping hot chicken tenders and fries - one of the best I've had.

I saw this tiny pub out the window of my car while my roommate and I were haplessly trying to find parking near our friend's hotel and knew that visiting Shamrock Club was far more important than seeing Mari. Who would've thought there'd be a small, hole in the wall, reasonably priced pub in the typically upscale river north? While the service took a very (very) long time because there was one person working the bar and kitchen, I wouldn't have wanted it any other way. The fried mushrooms and zucchini sticks hit the spot and the selection of Guinness and local brews wasn't bad. I left feeling very midwestern and very full.

For a dive, this place isn't bad at all. Came here last night around like 12am, and it was DEAD. Not complaining though, because I hate super busy bars if I am sitting at a table. They have very cheap food (love that!), and the food is actually pretty good! Try the mozz sticks. My boyfriend ordered a beef sandwich and had no complaints, and their beer and drinks are cheap here, as well. Honestly, River North can be super overrated, so it's nice to have a nice and chill place to be able to go without burning a whole in your pocket. Tip: debit and credit cards have a $10 minimum. The workers were nice when we were here, and the only complaint I really have is that the place smelled like bathroom... but honestly, I feel like most bars smell like that sadly haha. Because it's a dive and I have many by my own house without coming to River North, this would never be my first choice bar; however, when you need a break from clubbing or becoming broke, this is a great place to stop!

A co-worker and I decide to go out for Happy Hour after work. It's Friday and we worked all week. What better way to celebrate than happy hour. SC is located right around the corner from where we work. We left work and was ready to enjoy the start of our weekend. The place is pretty nice inside. A pool table located in the back of the bar. The atmosphere started off chilled and had a relaxing vibe. The customers were seated at every other tables. We were like ok cool SC is following the guidelines for open bar. We placed our order a nice glass of chill wine. The music was enjoyable and there weren't that many people. The host came over with a basket of fresh hot popcorn. Yummy. We were in a midst of our conversation. When a group of 15 young adults came into the bar. They were all surrounding the bar area. Some were not wearing mask. To my surprise the owner/manager or whomever didn't seem to even care. That was our cue to pay our bill and get out of dodge. We couldn't believe how this didn't seem to be an issue for the manager. Poor judgement call. I won't be returning here. What started off as a nice relaxing after work happy hour turn sour real quick. Just to make a few extra bucks isn't worth risking people's life.

I've been coming to this place for over 20 years and it never lets me down. The food is always delicious, fresh and cooked to my liking, and reasonably priced. Listen, after having lunch throughout the city, this place is a breath of fresh air! I'm so tired with overpriced lunch with added fees on the tab, waitstaff that cares less, and food that is just awful. I'm also tired of excuses of "this is what COVID caused." Please, enough restaurant owners, this is now on you.Just GO here, you will not be disappointed, trust me.The bonus?? By far the coldest beer in town!I cannot recommend this place enough!
