Serpentine Cider

I WISH we had a Serpentine Cider or anything close to it in our neighborhood. Staff are so friendly, and the location is great - one of our favorite places to chill with a drink after work and on weekends when we're in San Diego. We love sitting outdoors in the summer.The owner, Sean, is amazing and has put together such a unique menu of ciders. I can't say I ever see flavors like theirs in other cideries. Not only great flavor, but potent, too. Their variety of food trucks and themed events is just unrivaled anywhere else. We've tried so many great new restaurants/trucks at Serpentine, and we're always excited to go back again and again whenever we're visiting.

My intro to cider was Bivouac- but then I stumbled into Serpentine and - wow - it's whole different level. They don't make their ciders from fruit concentrates - they ferment the old fashioned way: blackberries, cherries, pineapple, and apples - all crafted together skillfully by virgin hands. It's really that pure - very low sugar for my diabetic friends. Lee the bartender is just awesome - gives fantastic suggestions. There is no restaurant-it's just a drinking hole. But it gets pretty crowded on a Friday & Saturday night. Be sure to grab a few 'Crowlers' on the way out!

in a prime location of University Heights, Serpentine Cider serves refreshing and flavorful Cider that is perfect any day of the year.Its about 65° and about to rain and this cold beverage still hits the spot.This place has a variety of sweet, spicy, and complex flavors that is sure to intrigue most people's interest. I'd be surprised to hear of someone who couldn't find a flavor they liked. With a bunch of 2 and 4 tops dispersed in a comfy indoor area and side patio, you are bound to meet someone new.This Cider often has a food vendor serving you fresh dishes to pair perfectly with your bubbly beverage.This place is definitely worth checking out if you're in the area!

Saw that Phatties vegan Mexican food truck was going to be at Serpentine a couple weekends ago (they're there almost every day), so my wife and I decided to check it out.We placed our food order at the truck, then wandered into Serpentine. We ordered a cider sampler at the bar then took it outside to a table on the side patio.The cider was good -- refreshing with a variety of different flavors represented. Kinda one note, but enjoyed it nonetheless. Great service from the bartender and of course Phatties did not disappoint.We'll be back!

Friendly and chill place to enjoy some ciders. The ones we tried were on the sweeter side. Seating is wooden and basic, mostly high tops. Outside there's shade and a heater.

Cute little cider spot my cousin recommended. They have happy hour Monday - Friday 4-6pm. I love that they offer cider flights from 3-5 tasters, since I'm not a big cider expert it gave me the opportunity to try mulitple flavors. Good prices too! I ordered a flight of 5 ciders for $15: all flavors were amazing! With pickled pear and banana foster as my top favorites!Location is nicely located right of El Cajon, with plenty of parking around the corner.They have indoor and outdoor sitting. They have board games available too! We didnt get the chance to play any but definitely set the vibe. Great place for a weekday drink or more casual hangout and stay a while type of place.

Solid cider spot. The strawberry black pepper cider was my favorite hands down, and most were on the dry side and very refreshing. Cute seating inside and out.No food, but I highly recommend 'Pomegranate' across the street if you want a fabulous meal.Not much else around this area, and parking can be tricky, but I still think it's worth a visit if you are a cider fan. Take some crowlers to go!

Stayed in North Park with some friends recently, and Serpentine was right around the corner. I do enjoy my ciders, so was excited to walk over and try them out. All of their ciders are low in sugar, and there were even a few that had zero grams of sugar. As a diabetic, who probably shouldn't drink that much cider to begin with, it made me feel better about my life choices. LOL!I went with a 5 taster and got the apple, guava, raspberry blackberry, juniper sage, and the salted margarita slushie! All were delicious. The slushie was extra delicious on such a warm summer afternoon, but I'd really drink all of these flavors again. There were plenty of other flavors to try, but we had places to go and people to see, so my taste buds will just have to wait until the next time we're in the area.I highly recommend any cider fans to give Serpentine a try!

Stumbled across this hidden gem while strolling the area. It drew me in with the classic 80s rock subtly tuning from the open door and I was sold once the signs convinced me that they were servicing cider better than I'd ever had before. A flight of spicy tropic, pineapple toasted coconut, poached pear, guava, and lemongrass pear was poured up with a side of delicious and well deserved ego- the ciders were in fact as amazing as their signs say. Staff was friendly, interior was simply decorated and the outdoor seating was prettily decorated with flowers on rebar giving a farmhouse but delicate feel. 10/10 recommend.

I had never heard of anyone offering a cider flight so when this establishment popped up while I was looking for brewery's near me, I was sold instantly. The good price, amazing cider flavors, kind service and board game selection made this place memorable for my partner and I. We will definitely come back to this gem.
