Not knowing the area, and seeing a lot of people near this restaurant, we decided to give it a try. However, upon actually being in the restaurant, we realized everyone was actually going next door. A little underwhelmed of our experience today. And with that, we will definitely not be returning. We ordered a mushroom Swiss burger and their specialty Mac n cheese, all gluten free. The burger was decent, nothing to complain about there. The Mac n cheese, however, was such a let down. First of all, they almost brought regular pasta which made me a little nervous, but I was thankful the server noticed right before she delivered the plate to us. The best I can explain the Mac n cheese would be if you took a can of Alfredo sauce and poured it onto a box of Barilla pasta (cooked, of course). There was no imagination, and it definitely didn't have any resemblance of Mac n cheese. I never eat dairy, so I was excited for this, and it was such a let down. I guess the part that frustrates me the most is the fact that we spent over $60. The quality just doesn't match the price tag.

The barista followed my instructions on making a cortado and it was perfect. Excellent service and a really nice atmosphere.

We have been coming to Serendipity Cafe and the Lounge since 2012- the food is really good, menu has great choices with seasonal specials. (The daily soups are crazy delicious) The cafe side caters to families and the breakfast and lunch crowd but the lounge side is our favorite evening hangout for date night or just to see friends. The bartenders there are absolutely amazing. (Adam, we love you! Helen and Alicia too!) It's pretty much our "Cheers". A great neighborhood staple for sure.

This place is fast becoming my comfort food craving. Every time I eat there--the food is terrific! This time, Hubby took me to lunch and they had all day brunch. He had the French Dip--which was great. I had the Eggs Benedict and I'm a real aficionado of the EB. The eggs were cooked perfectly, the hollandaise was spot on and the smoked ham was sublime. The potatoes however, surpassed my expectations. Big heart onions and peppers added some amazing flavor. Not a dieters special, but if you're going to go big, I'd say go to Serendipity.

After a visit to the nearby Magnolia Boulevard Viewpoint--with its magnificent views--I stopped at Serendipity for a sandwich and glass of wine. It's right in the heart of Magnolia Village. The chicken salad sandwich was pretty good- and the service was fine.I sat on the cafe side-- it's a long & narrow room with the kitchen at the far end. Lots of clanging noise from the kitchen. The 6 oz pour of the house white was insanely over-priced at $11.With 20% tip, this little meal cost $35.

Charming neighborhood eatery. Friendly service. Clean and bright. The Steak Salad was huge, lots of fresh romaine, small amount of steak bites. The chicken salad sandwich was good but oddly seasoned with a warm spice, nutmeg? Onion rings were fantastic! At 2:00 I was surprised to see the bakery case nearly empty, with only a few cookies. Parking was easy.

The 4 stars are for the ambiance, kind wait staff, good option selection, clean spot, and the fact that it was fun to try out. The food itself is hovering around 3-3.5 stars though. What we ordered was okay, but I wasn't wowed. The seasoning was good- execution on the chicken sandwich was blah. French onion soup was decent. The sliders were more like 4.5 stars! 5 stars for the quality of fries!

I am officially a regular! After moving to Magnolia during the pandemic, I found it hard to settle in. The village is very unique and small. I had to make my rounds before discovering why Serendipity was so great. The food tastes like a restaurant made it, but reasonable and lots to choose from. They have a sit down side with coffee and a place for the kiddos to play. The other side is a bar, so 21+. They serve food until a certain time in the bar side and they have great drinks! The staff have all been here a long time and get to know your name and order. They make this place feel like home.I am knocking a star off because it seems like their specials menu never changes and they use a heavy cilantro lime dressing on a lot of items. It's yummy but overdone and makes you feel limited in your ordering. Seriously though, you can't go wrong with coming here - lots of outdoor seating and good food await!

Not good. The food. The service. The paintings. Just not a place I would go back to. Maybe consider some other place.
