In fact, we were happy it was open because many restaurants or eateries on Orcas Island are not open seven days a week. New Leaf seems to be one of the only restaurants that is open the majority of the time. which is lucky because the food is also really fresh and delicious. We had breakfast and dinner here two separate days while visiting the island, both times it was delish! Staff is super friendly And accommodating! Next time we're on the island will definitely stop by again. They are attached to The Outlook Hotel which looks Idealic as well!"

I simply googled "wine" in the area and searched for waterfront options. We walked from Gas Works to Bowriders Grill, which was a little tricky. We arrived at the restaurant and found a sign that they're closed because of water issues ? Thankfully we explored further and saw people sitting at tables. Turns out we were actually at the restaurant next door called Westward. It was confusing but you have to walk down a pathway through a shipyard to get there. I'm glad we made the effort to figure it out. Beautiful restaurant with beautiful views and great service and great prices! Highly recommend!!"

This is in the location Dacha Diner used to be--but much different layout.Outside, they created a nice are with a couple of benches. I am not sure how often service gets out there, so you may want to go to the bar.The inside kind of eclectic, but also very cozy. As we entered, we were given a friendly greeting by the bartender and picked up some menus. There are many comfy couches and it is set up well for large groups. We started with drinks. I had something called a Pisco Punch and my friend had the Blood In, Blood out. Both were excellent with really complex flavors--I had not had anything like the Punch before. It was hard to pull out any specific flavors, but really tasty. When we went there it looked like they did not have the frier working yet, so the menu was a little limited. It is a nice menu with a lot of comfort food. We ended up having the hummus. It says it is a black eyed pea hummus, but not much different than chickpeas. The veggies were really great, particularly the cauliflower and asparagus. I am eager to go back and try the meatballs or pork belly sando. We will be back often and I hope many people give this place a try."

I came here on a Friday morning because I saw that they had a lot of tables and free wifi. This place is in a large plaza so there is a parking lot right outside although some of the parking right out front might be taken by the other businesses next door.I ordered their 16oz latte ($4.25) which was good. They also have tea, regular smoothies, and blended smoothies which is coffee mixed with ice cream which is an interesting combination to me (they also have yogurt for a healthier alternative).I didn't stay for their wine but this place looks like a nice relaxing way to begin the weekend!"

Generous Y. "Our party was craving calzones and pasta, so that's exactly what we came for. Wish we did try the pizza though as it looks terrific. Calzones and white sauce pasta were delicious whereas the parm options with red sauce felt a little more standard. However, pasta is delicious so I round up a bit from the 3.5 I figure.House Calzone - doesn't seem crazy but it's packed, dense, and filling! Satisfied my calzone cravings with a outer layer that was thick enough to hold all the contents but not overly thick. This calzone did not need the marinara sauce as it was flavorful enough.Fettucini (build your own pasta) - creamy fettuccine, the Alfredo sauce was an amazing mixture of cheese of butter that enhanced the overall dish. I would definitely say the Alfredo here was better than the marinara.Chicken Parm - a classic, but nothing special. Spaghetti was simply boiled and placed, marinara had no wow factor, and chicken was breaded light. Probably a more replicable dish at home, but chicken parm is always a solid, safe bet, so usually it's not bad anyway with room to improve. That was this chicken parm, not bad but room to improve.Eggplant Parm - similar to the chicken parm, nothing was too special. Spaghetti and sauce were the same as above, just typical. Not much to say here."

We got pepperoni and a Hawaiian. The part of the pizza with toppings are pretty good but the crust isn't that great. It's reminiscent of a cracker and almost stale if not enjoyed quick enough. The Hawaiian was my favorite of the two. The amount of toppings to crust ratio is perfect."

They are conveniently located in the Winslow Mall in central Bainbridge. Walking distance from the ferry and lots of parking nearby as well. My friends and I opted to sit at an outside table and customize our flights of four wines. The woman who served the wines was funny and personable and really made for an enjoyable experience. I opted for the Goldfinch White Blend (unoaked Chardonnay and Viognier), the Sauvignon Blanc, the Homme Nu Super Tuscan blend (Sangiovese and Cab Sauv), and the Syrah. I loved each one and ended up purchasing 9 bottles that day. My friends enjoyed their wines so much that they joined the wine club. Wennie H. "Came here for my birthday and was blown away by the food and service. Started with mock-tails that were just okay, little too tart for me. Ordered the tuna noodles, bread and butter, pork belly and the seasonal green salad to start. Pork belly melted in my mouth, the pickled veg were a nice addition to the sweet/richness of the pork. Tuna noodles were my favorite, light and just the right amount of seasoning. Bread was good and warm, the tomato pesto was not good though. The salad was good but the goat cheese was a little too much for me. For mains, we got the steak and the mad thatcher chicken. Each main came with potatoes and the chicken came with a mini salad. The salad on my chicken was personally better than the one we ordered because it was lighter and simpler (lemon, oil). The potatoes were good, a simple roasted one that wasn't heavy handed. The chicken was good but the sauce (the lighter one) was a little too much for me, the lighter green one was good. Partner said the steak was fine, the potatoes that came with hers were good, a solid crispy potato. I love potatoes. We ordered the lemon curd for dessert and that was SO good, the Greek yogurt layer really helped balance the acidity and the cake croutons were a nice textural element. Server also brought macaroons for my birthday. Service was really good and attentive, restaurant is open and clean."

Generous Y. "Bucatini is easily one of the top gems in Edmonds. Tremendous portion sizes, fantastic taste, nice ambiance, and more. They throw in one Spicchi candy per person at the end, which is a nice gesture. A sweet to end off with and the tastes are all slightly sour due to the citrus flavors, just another twist to the afternoon or evening. Garlic Bread - quite possibly the best garlic bread I've ever had. Slightly burnt corners make up the perfectly toasted bread that's crunchy yet somehow soft in the center. Flavor is present at every bite, not just the center. The garlic is strong and the butter is spread just right while not being overly greasy or anything.Bucatini with Meatballs - two gigantic meatballs that can easily be split into four regular sized meatballs paired with a hefty amount of bucatini leads to a full stomach and happy taste buds. The meatballs were tender and flavorful. Bucatini was a perfect al dente. Perfect amount of sauce with the pasta leaves very little for the garlic bread, which is great because the garlic bread deserves to be enjoyed by itself. Pappardelle Alfredo - fresh egg noodles, wide, and tender to the bite. This entree is related to the famous fettuccini alfredo since pappardelle isn't as widely available. Same exact expectations, but high quality here at Bucatini. The pappardelle isn't important in an alfredo dish since the width of the noodles aren't necessary, but they're delicious nonetheless. If you want the genuine pappardelle experience, get the bolognese so the wide noodles can hold on to more meat sauce."

I had been casing out Chez Phinney for awhile ever since former business, Bluebird, relocated diagonally across the street. Once I entered, wow what a transformation from the former familiar layout of Bluebird to its current iteration. My only exposure to such a wine bar concept was Rapport over on Capitol Hill, but choices there were vast and overwhelming. This was a scaled down version to sample and savor wines, with a handful of beers and ciders also to select from.I was introduced to the set up by a welcoming owner. I handed over a debit/credit card for safekeeping in exchanged for a numbered card used on the dispensing area. Pour volumes available are 1 ounce, 3 ounces, and 5 ounces. When ready to close out one's ticket, complete the transaction at the host stand area. I mentioned that I had interest in merlots, so she kindly pointed out a few to select from. I sat at a two top by the entrance on the main floor. The other floor had additional seating and the open food prep kitchen area. I was provided a wine glass, water/glass, and I ordered a cheese plate with grapes and crostinis. The cheese plate was to take the edge off. I liked the three cheeses selected, but the grapes provided were a bit overripe. Maybe in the future they will consider nuts, dried fruits, salumi as a full charcuterie feature. Whatever, I nibbled through everything during my two hours there. By the way, I also enjoyed the music played. Eclectic from Gipsy Kings to Tame Impala to Andy Gibb. I ended up having three 1 ounce sample pours: two were merlot/cabernet sauvignons from France and for the third, I chose a Malbec from Walla Walla. I was amazed at its assertiveness and definitely made a note to self to order a Malbec next time I have a steak dinner. I look forward to visiting again to continue my wine education. Chez Phinney is a great spot for date night, meet up with friends, or solo oenophiles like me. Terrific addition to the vast retail stretch of Greenwood/Phinney Ridge neighborhoods."

Daren D. "I tend to support local small businesses within walking distance so since I moved back to the area, I've already made a few trips here. A very pleasant & cozy day cafe in a newer building. The interior design is very well-done, especially with the blacked out utilities hanging from the ceiling (which often times other businesses just don't bother with); this helps create a strong harmony top-down inside. Feels like a subtle classical big city American diner w/ modern flair.Similar menus and format throughout the day; the dinner time is just a bit less casual. Their vegan options are super decent. Not a huge fan of romesco sauce but the eggplant sandwich is nice. My current favorite item is the seasonal squash soup w/ focaccia bread side (plus extra side bread of baguette). Wholesome, healthy and goes down smooth; plus, who doesn't love a good dipper with sides of bread? They also have a small case of treats. Usually, I'd get the chocolate brownie or spiced scone. Every other morning/afternoon, you'll probably find me getting my decaf oat latte fix with one of their neat house flavors or seasonal specials in my personal mug. Don't forget bringing your own bag (totes are my favorite) for take-out can help them save supplies.Minor things (I can notice these small details) for feedback: The bar counter at the far end could've been extended 6-12" longer to more comfortably fit 1 extra bar seat. And the bathroom sink spout is too close to the bowl edge; that too should've been extended a few inches out.Staff is otherwise very friendly and chill. 2 thumbs up, yo!"

Before writing this post I think it's important to know what the restaurant name comes from the Swinomish tribe has an awesome guide which states is derived from the 13 moons of the Coast Salish lunar calendar. Topics and activities associated with each moon phase are outlined with the traditional and cultural events and many of the phases also represent season. I think this resultant does such beautiful job highlighting the culture of its name highlighting season Ingredients in a upscale yet simple way. Letting everything speak for itself. The staff was so incredibly helpful and kind. You blink and your water glass was refilled or a new fork was placed. Our server had incredible recommendations. We started with crab cakes my husband and I both do not like fruit with savory dishes this seriously made us change our minds. The apple paired so beautifully with the crab cakes richness. Without a doubt just order it won't disappoint except you may fight over who gets the last bite. My husbands halibut was perfectly cooked so tender, flavorful. My steak was giant they say 14 oz but I swear it was more took over half home and was enough for three meals. Was cooked perfectly rare from end to end. I changed from the seasonal veggie to a cesar salad . The salad was accidentally made into a large the lettuce was crisp yet tender. The Cesar salad dressing was salty, citrusy. I also added mushrooms and they were the perfect side to my steak.. The espresso cream Brûlée was so light but pack a amazing espresso flavor. Was such a highlight to the meal. Was perfect way to end a perfect weekend. We both agree we would drive back just to go here again."

I enjoyed her stint at Campagne and her previous spot, Brasa. No surprise that Terra Plata continues to be a successful restaurant on Capitol Hill, promoting Earth to Table with fresh, seasonal ingredients. I had been meaning to revisit and had that opportunity for dunch/linner 4pm reservation (12/3/23). Again, I lucked out with free nearby street parking. It was an oasis to arrive at Terra Plata after the crowds and din from the Seattle Christmas Market and the nearby Starbucks Reserve and Roastery earlier.Genuine welcoming vibe upon entering and when seated. I really enjoyed our personable wait person. We ordered four items. It was also great to sample bites. Definitely a place to come with a group in order to get a comprehensive taste of the menu, divided as starters, earth, sea, and land. We enjoyed the Harissa-Glazed Carrots and Baked Leek Gratin from the earth section, $15 and $18, respectively. The carrots also had hummus, feta, and drizzled with a honey glazed vinaigrette. The recommended leek gratin was spot on with chorizo, manchego, breadcrumbs, pickled red onions, topped with boquerones. I enjoyed the presentation and bright flavors. The College Friend leaned towards the Albondigas from the land section ($26), which were sizable veal and lamb meatballs with smoked pequillo pepper sauce, almonds, feta, sultanas atop fluffy lemon couscous. I thoroughly enjoyed the Whole Roasted Branzino from the sea section ($40) and amazing flavors from the bok choy, fennel-carrot salad with tomato-ginger butter. Wish I had saved a piece of the toasted bread from the gratin dish to sop up the delicious sauce. It was a nice touch to be offered assistance to debone the fish. I declined since I am able to do so without any hesitation. Fresh, tender filet from the head to tail fin. Lesson learned - don't let an OG not be part of your dining rotation.
