Carl D. "I've been here a few times recently so it's past time to write a review.Overall, it's quite good. The last few times I've had take-out so I can't speak to the table service but the food is really good.On one visit, I got pho with tofu (wife's tummy was upset and wouldn't have handled animal protein) and boy, was it yummy! In pho, it's all about the broth and theirs couldn't be better! And the portion was generous, so we got a couple of meals out of it.Another favorite is their fresh rolls. Made to order and served with a hoisin sauce, I also feel virtuous eating my veggies this way. My most recent visit was for a banh mi. Again, made fresh, I chose the Combination: a baguette filled with a variety of cold cuts with pate, cilantro, jalapenos, pickled carrots & daikon radish. It was not the best I've ever had but still very good.If you like Vietnamese food, give it a try!"

Matt B. "I stopped in for breakfast on a Monday morning. I dined in and ordered the tofu scramble ($5.95 plus tax), and added some grilled veggies to it ($3 plus tax). It took a little time to come out -- 20-25 mins. The scramble is decent, coming with vegan cheese melted on top, and accompanied with potatoes, green peppers, onions and mushrooms, and a side of vegan buttered white toast. Not the highest quality nor one of the more interesting tofu scrambles, but it did the job and was reasonably priced. Old Town down the street does much better scrambles (though quite a bit pricier), so I'd recommend going there for those, but this was a nice spot in the heart of downtown B'ham."

Timothy H. "This Thai restaurant offers a variety of tasty food and you have many great dishes to choose from. I decided to try their Crispy Spicy Chicken and I enjoyed it. The chicken was fried well and the amount of sauce to the dish was just enough. The offer more than enough chicken to the dish and by the end of it, I was full. There are like fried basil leafs and bell peppers on the dish and I had to finish all of it because of how well they all went together. We also tried the yellow curry which was good, but not that special. The servers were friendly and helpful. They provided good service and were patient with us. The food didn't take long at all to make. The ambiance provided a good setting with nice decorations. I enjoyed the wood designs throughout the store. The restaurant had local art displayed throughout the place which I thought was cute. Heads up, the parking lot is behind the restaurant. It's cool that parking is free, but there are multiple garage bins around there. I enjoyed eating here and I would come back to try their fried rice and pad Thai."

Charles F. "I was in Seattle to meet our Amazon Vendor manager and while there were some good vegan snacks in the Apollo building I was hungry for more. I found Plantiful via Yelp. Thanks, Yelp for the help. The location was close by and I entered. It is a very small location with a counter and limited counter height seating by the window, I ordered the Habanero burger with large tots. Here's what I likedThere's an option of Beyond, Impossible, FieldBurger, and Chik Burger. Some reviewers claimed for the price that the burger was small, but that was not my experience. I would say the burger size was just right especially with a large tot. My order was processed fairly quickly as my cashier was also my cook, which was not overly strange but weird and perhaps the norm for the area. Ketchup was the only takeout sauce available for the tots which was less than ideal. I left excited but kept my expectations low.I walked back to the Marriott Courtyard and then as a group drove to a nearby restaurant. At this point, my burger and tots had been in my backpack for about 45 minutes or so. I didn't want to eat without everyone else in the dining party having their non-vegan entrees. The large order of air-fried tots was massive. That was a lot of tots. I wish I had taken a picture while at Plantiful to show the enormous amount but I was too excited to get caught up with the rest of my group. If you're a tot fan, order the large and expect to either have leftovers or share. I couldn't finish the large order on my own.Next was the burger. The burger was a good size and it was spicy. I had not had a spicy burger like that in quite some time. Kudos to the Plantifood for pulling that off. There's a strange lettuce in my burger, perhaps bok choy that was very hard to chew. Next time, I would order it without it as it was harder than cardboard for me to rip off. Overall, $30 plus tip was expensive but context is important. I would have paid the same at the restaurant for something that may or may not have been vegan so I would rather go to the source and get what I want. I am thankful for Plantiful and I would go back but I would order a smaller-sized tot order and the same burger without the lettuce OR maybe just order the Monterey burger. Yum."

I am not a vegan - but we do have a vegan in the family. Our daughter (a vegan) asked that we have Brown Sugar create her 21st b-day cake. It was well worth the drive from the Eastside to Seattle. While picking up the cake I spied some chocolate-dipped shortbread cookies that I simply could not resist.- Cake: 5 stars. 6 inch round chocolate mousse. Three layers dark choco cake layered in dark choco mousse and covered in creamy choco frosting and also covered in ganache, with a couple of large strawberries on top.My gosh! Wonderfully moist, soft, dense cake with just the right amount of sweetness. We had 8 people. The quantity was plenty, and we were all sated.- Shortbread cookies: 5 stars. Incredible! Service was very warm and friendly. We were seated in their greenhouse looking room and it was so pretty! Love the atmosphere here! We started our morning with the golden milk latte and the passion fruit nog. Both tasty. The nog is on the more tart side and reminds me of a smoothie. Food: + cinnamon roll- pretty tasty! + mochi beignets - tasty but not as fluffy as we'd like. More of a dense cake texture and the sauce kind of made it taste similar to a jelly donut! + egg frittata with peppers and mushrooms. This was super good and we paired it with the cheesy grits! Grits were also really tasty! Ask for a side of hot sauce, it pairs well with the eggs. Overall, this spot is a little pricey but the ambiance, service, and food made for a really nice experience!"

Kyle W. "Delish is delish indeed! My friend made a reservation for a Friday dinner through Resy which is a good call as it was fairly busy otherwise. It is a fairly small and intimate restaurant, but that also meant service is pretty good. We got the Delish combo which has a combination of meat + vegetable combos in one plate, which is good portion for 2 people. The injera here is pretty good, not too sour, so the actual food can be savored in more or less its original form. We also got the assa goulash (cube cut tilapia) and the classic doro wot (chicken) as these were not part of the combo, all of which are very well spiced yet balanced. I particularly really loved the tilapia! By ordering all this, we were able to try a large variety of food.My only complaint was that the food does take a while - about 30+ minutes, but the food quality otherwise is super on point and one of the better Ethiopian restaurants out here. Price is also excellent - sharing everything among 5 people was sufficient food and priced around $20 per person after tax and tip. Not many restaurants of this quality fit in this price range anymore these days."

From the outside, it doesn't look very inviting. But the inside is really large and well decorated, with a bar lounge area and a regular dining area with booths and lots of seating. The staff were super friendly, giving me great recommendations for what to order and good conversation.I ordered the vegan buffalo wings, which is made from homemade seitan wrapped around a fake bone and fried, then dipped in buffalo sauce. This was really delicious, and you can tell it's made with a lot of love, a very unique dish. For entrees, me and my friend ordered burgers with different toppings. They came with beyond beef, vegan cheese, sauces, and fun toppings like onion rings, vegetables, and more. It came with curly fries or regular fries, and the staff gave us tons of unique sauces for dipping. The burgers were really good, but the star of the show was the buffalo wings! Staff recommended the fried pickles and mushrooms, but were too full to try. I hope to go back and try them soon.We ordered 2 cupcakes, the chocolate bomb one and a birthday cake one. Both were delicious and made great leftovers! I really recommend this place. The staff is lovely and put a ton of energy and effort into their food and quality service. The space is large, so you can come with a good group of people. Everything is fresh and it was a great experience. I really recommend this restaurant! I attached some photos of the menu."

Michael X. "Kabul Afghan Cuisine has been recommended by a friend as one of the tastiest places in Seattle that she has been to - I personally have never tried Afghan cuisine before, so I was definitely looking for opportunities to swing by to try this interesting cuisine! We went on a Wednesday around 7pm and were seated promptly. The ambience of the restaurant does feel very homely, with pictures and art of Afghan landscapes, architecture, and culture. Tables are laid out with candles and lights are dimly lit, and service is responsive and fast. Food came out in a reasonable time, but it was also given that it wasn't really busy that night. I was surprise that we were able to get a table with a reservation so easily, so that was a plus.Since this was a nice restaurant we wanted an opportunity to try as much variety as possible, so our waitress recommended the Combination Kebab for two ($80) - we decided to go that route as it looked very enticing! I'll review the items we got down below:Ash: This is a delicious bowl of soup! I loved the flavor profile as you could really taste the herbs - there is a certain richness from how thick the soup was that I enjoyed. There was a decent amount of chickpeas and kidney beans in the soup, and both were tender.Badenjan Borani: A delicious eggplant portion - the eggplant is very soft and covered in a good amount of tomato sauce and spices. What I liked about this dish is that it pairs nicely with the kebab, as the creaminess of the yogurt sauce and acidity of the tomato complements the meatiness of the kebab.Beef and Chicken Kebab Combo: These are hearty chunks of meat! There is a decent blend of chew and tenderness through each chunk, and you can subtlety taste the spices and marinade. It is a decent portion of kebab given, and when paired with the Salata and Kabuli Palaw, this is a good amount of food that will definitely leave you satisfied. The Kabuli Palaw rice dish was delicious! I could definitely eat a whole plate of the rice itself - you can taste the coriander and cumin, and the raisins and nuts give it a pleasing texture. The Salata was alright, it was mostly just cucumbers, tomatoes, and onions in a small bowl - it did serve as a palate cleanser, but I would say this was my least favorite of the experience. I loved that they gave you a good tasting option for the variety of Afghan dishes that they serve where.Firni: Yum! This is a decadent dessert was really creamy and had hint of rosewater. Wasn't too heavy, and had a light airy nature to it. I would say this is a solid end to the experience! In the end, we spent about $105 for this meal. It does lean a bit on the pricier side for two people, but the service was nice, and it is a really good tasting menu if you haven't had Afghan Cuisine before! I would definitely like to revisit in the future to try the other options that Kabul has to offer."

It was crispy, coated with spicy seasoning and very flavorful. It was a perfect sized shareable app between two people. Definitely stood out among all the food we ordered. For the mains, we ordered pad makua stir fry and red curry. Red curry was very creamy, delicious and the veggies were very fresh. Pad makua had very interesting flavor profile and was good but it had too many eggplant slices. I couldn't finish eating so much eggplant after a while. I was initially going for chuchi artichoke and should have stuck with that choice. But my server recommended pad makua as it was more juicy. May be next time, I'll try the other stir fry. She went on to explain that all of her ingredients are homemade and made from scratch by her. Knowing we would be sharing half of each banh mi, she offered to slice the sandwich for us. Very thoughtful! We got the Spicy Tofu and Barbecue Pork, plus she gave us a couple of vegan egg rolls to try. Jesus, the foods are all freaking delicious!!
