"Great guys. Great service. Great oysters. I'll be back. They helped me choose my oysters and I didn't have to wait long."
"Joe "The Tuna Man" is fantastic! I look forward to every Wednesday to get my fix. He sells to local sushi restaurants and at farmers markets throughout the Puget Sound.Joe and his wife Joyce (who used to sell at the Renton Farmers Market) lived on their boat for like 12 years until they had kids. Now they have two adorable kids and have started behaving like landlubbers and sell their stuff at farmers markets.I've had the tuna-jurky with is beyond fantastic, the canned tuna (which comes LOTS of varieties including, garlic, dill, jalapeo - and more!), but I really come for the frozen Sashimi Grade Albacore Tuna Fillets.A few summers ago, my friend L and I took a class to learn how to make our own sushi. We use Joe's stuff to make it happen. Its easy, yummy, and cheap! We stuff ourselves silly with a $4 piece of fish.Joe treats me like his favorite customer (I'm sure I am!) but is so friendly and seems genuinely excited to see me when I appear."
"Has tuna poke and sashimi grade tuna. The lady at the counter is very nice. I'd return when I crave some simple sashimi."
"The only reason why this isn't a five-star review is because it's cash-only. It's rare that I have cash on me and if you're buying more than a single 2lb crab ($6.99 lb for large Dungeness) then you really have to plan to go to the bank and get cash if a seafood craving strikes you. They're in the old dry cleaner building on the corner of Alaska and Beacon Ave S, so there's tons of parking around. I've been in before to browse and the selection was small the day I was in but I only wanted one crab for myself, so no worries there. They do have live eel, which I haven't prepared before at home but BBQ weather is here and me thinks I'll have to try it ;) There are also snails, two sizes of Dungeness, lobsters, and other fish too. The tanks are pretty clean, which is always important. It's too bad they don't fix up the place, though--both exterior and interior--it does look shady.I named my crab Frank and put him in the freezer so he could simma down a bit. I believe in humane food prep treatment, so I don't put food live into hot water whenever possible. (Sorry mussels, clams, and oysters. There's not a whole lot we can do for you.) Unfortunately, Frank didn't agree that it was his time to go. He literally grabbed my knife as I went to dispatch him, so it was a little longer process than usual.. RIP Frank. All in all, a good place (cheaper than Mutual Fish) and easy to get to!"
"While in Seattle, we needed to stock up on some Korean groceries, so we came to this H Mart.As other H Mart locations, they have snack items, candies, produce, specialty items, houseware goods, as well as some pre-made hot food. We picked up some veggies, meats for KBBQ, and ramen. The store is a bit smaller, but seems well-stocked. There were also items that I haven't seen in other H Marts, like the butter kimchi ramen!Plenty of parking in the large lot.+well-stocked selections+parking in shared plaza lot"
"I recently found myself on an epic road trip from Lynden to Fairhaven, which presented a great opportunity to visit Hannegan Seafoods. They weren't busy at all on this brisk Saturday morning, and my daughter and I made our way inside to choose some yummy deliciousness to fill up our freezer. This was my second time inside Hannegan and I was impressed by their seafood choices. The majority of their selection is frozen, and vacuum packed into either large slabs or single-sized portions. I opted for four (generous) portions of King Salmon - a steal at $10/pound - as well as a small bag of frozen sea scallops and four individually packed crabcakes (around $2/ea). We also grabbed a nibble of some of their yummy "salmon candy" out of the fresh case, and were good to go!While Hannegan Seafood has a great selection of frozen items, I would love to see more fresh selections there too - like oysters or clams, for example. The dude at the counter could have been a bit more friendly. He seemed annoyed that we were there!"
"Terrible customer service & they don't let you in unless you know what you want. However, I'm thinking they might not let you in regardless. The place is parked with really nice expensive cars though."
"Came here because of their famous Candy Smoked Salmon($28/lb). Everyone raves about it; It might not be as spectacular as everyone makes it out to be, but it is definitely very good, unique and something you won't find elsewhere. The name kind of threw me off because it says candy smoked. I was expecting something much sweeter but the smoked salmon flavor still comes thru and has just the right amount of sweetness to it but not overpowering.Service here is excellent too, they ask you if you're going to take it to travel and vacuum seal it for you if you are. They also have some really great jerky ($20/lb), they let us sample a few different flavors. We ended up getting about a pound of their "Thick and Tender" jerky which was as described, thicker cut and moist and tender. I especially liked the texture of it because it was not as hard and dried out.Besides the salmon and jerky, they are a high end butcher shop, so the meats will be higher priced than the local grocery store, but you get higher quality meats I'm sure. Im sure they have a select local clientele. For visitors, i highly suggest trying the candy smoked salmon, yes it's pricy but I'm just not sure where else you'd find something like this."
"I stumbled upon this store when I was looking up places to get my uni fix. It was seriously fun to browse all the high quality, fresh, (and not commonly seen) seafood! The owner was super friendly and introduced me to the fish behind the case. I left with a container of herring, but look forward to stopping by again to try their other fish."
"This place is incredible! I love love love that hometown feel that butcher shops give off. It is local love in the meatiest of ways! We had a friends that said they had the best jerky ever and they were not wrong. The jerky is AWARD WINNING and I am not even kidding you, we ordered so many different kinds. Buffalo, Tri - Tip, Salmon, and a few more. The food is fresh, the service was quick and we were in complete road trip mode so having snacks in the backseat that were tasty and local made it even better. The smoked candied salmon was absolutely incredible. I still dream of it. We also purchased a bbq rub that we have been using on EVERYTHING. And also a chili mix that was slow cooker heaven for the holidays right about now!"
"Absolutely delicious. Everything was insanely fresh! We thoroughly enjoyed everything. Our least favorite item was the Mac and cheese and the only complaint was that it wasn't hot enough. It came out just warm and therefore the cheese wasn't as creamy as we could have hoped but it had a great flavor still. The star of the show was the crab plate. The crab was fresh, sweet and succulent. The warm butter was not even needed but a nice treat on the side. The silent surprise for us was the raw oysters- they were super plump and on the big side so we expected them to not be as delicious. However we were extremely shocked. They were creamy, velvety and sweet. Crab cakes were meaty and delicious with fun flavors. The steamed clams were delightful as well. Perfectly steamed with lord of garlic and sauce and a nice chunk of bread to soak up the extra goodness. The halibut ceviche was beyond fresh and my only complaint was I wish there was more. Really enjoyed it with the fresh corn tortilla chips. The halibut fish and chips were seasoned to perfection. Halibut is not the oiliest fish so it was a little dry but the seasoning more than made up for it. We thoroughly enjoyed the zucchini fries too. Honestly, when we pulled up we were shocked at how busy the place was. But when we left we understood why. This is definitely a must to visit when I'm the area and we will return on our next visit. We were not disappointed at all and was our best meal on the island. Including the cider on tap!"
"When I lived north of Seattle for my first year as a PNW resident, this was my go-to Vietnamese market.Do ask for the owner's help here if you're unsure of where to find your Asian goods; she literally thrives on helping every customer. Her name is Mama. And she will take CARE of you, like literally walk you down each aisle and grab you some of her best produce.I've cooked many delicious homemade Vietnamese meals at my rental spots in the area thanks to this little market."

My friend and I came randomly stumbled on this spot, because it looked fresh but it really wasn't. We got the cod fish and chips and were really disappointed with the quality. For having fresh seafood out front, I expected a bit more. Some of the cod pieces had a weird old smell to it, which I ended up not eating because I was afraid to get food poisoning. The fries were soggy and oily. I don't plan on coming back here, no matter how busy it looks. I really didn't enjoy the food and they had a decently long line.

Picked up a few of their cans at Ballard Farmers Market about a month ago. Come to find out, this is what canned tuna is really supposed to taste like. I would have never guessed and I'm pretty sure it's all I will want to eat from now on. I'm just sad they aren't there every time we make it to the market.Check out their calendar to see when they'll be around you: http://www.tunatuna.com/press/st-jude-calendar.php

The gentleman behind the counter provided good insight on what he believed was the best part of the salmon. He suggested the tail because it was boneless and got crispier. They also had some samples that were tasty. Good service and good products!

To all y'all giving Lucky a bad review -- By all means, stay away so the rest of us have more inventory to choose from. This place is awesome. If you can ever be described as high maintenance, you should not come here. Seriously, what do you think fisheries and commercial seafood shipping depots look like?

I heard about this from a friend from Hawaii. Finally was able to pop in a couple times and found excellent quality and array of meats and different cuts, some premarinated meat and everything was clean, service was good and distancing was in place. Tried the kalbi chicken which had great flavor though the texture was a little more firm than I was expecting, and the pork ribs were delicious too! Fun to find some local butchers in the area!
Visit Restaurant Page"In shortA dedicated fish market with some specialty items, decent prices, and great fresh selection. In longThis isn't as famous as some of the markets in town, but the family has been in the seafood business forever and ever. I've been coming here for years now, and I honestly have no idea why I have never gotten around to rating it. It's right near 99, so it's super easy to get to, but even being a block off that thoroughfare makes it feel almost secluded. You see a medium-sized commercial building with big sturdy metal garage doors rolled up, and probably a stream where water has been draining out. They take care of the stock here. There are big open tanks of shellfish when you walk in. Plenty of fresh water cycling over them. They have live crabs, which they'll help ya with. The bivalves you can scoop yourself with the little baskets. The display case in back has tons of fin fish cut into filets and steaks. Prices are often lower than supermarkets, with slightly better quality. Some big-box stores might beat them on price here and there. They offer tons of poke made in house, side dishes, and quite a few sashimi-grade cuts in the case. I see quite a few folks who look Japanese every time I shop here. This week we picked up seaweed salad, some rad smoked salmon garlic dip, and a great filet of Copper River sockeye. I'm already craving all of them again. This is one local business I am always happy to support even if it's an extra stop."
"Do not cheat yourself! Visiting this seafood stand is a MUST when you visit Pikes! Ever since our fist visit, I knew anytime I came back to Seattle that this would be a must do. They sell the freshest seafood and will pack it up and ship anywhere in the US! On top of that - they also have fresh seafood for eating. The jumbo shrimp cocktail is always so sweet and succulent. The crab cocktail is even better - the crab is huge lumps and pieces, some of the sweetest crab you will ever have. And I don't know what they do that make their oyster shooters so amazing but they will leave you wanting more."
"This place is one of many fish stands in the marketplace however it stands out by the show effect: they throw fish, entertain tourists and scream catch phrases. I had read on Yelp about their oyster shooters so decided to go try one. The staff was beyond friendly!! The shooter was delicious and after they cleaned and wrapped the souvenir glass for me. Yum! The shooter has 2 oysters in a cocktail sauce."
"5 stars!! Love this Market. They have everything you need packed into this little space. Prices are excellent. Love the fresh selection of seafood and most of all...LIVE CRAB! They carry everything from basic asian kitchen utensils, fresh tofu and soybean milk, fresh herbs, veggies, 25-50 LBS of rice, spices, dried and canned goods, noodles, decent meat department, and the friendliest staff! I wish I lived closer!"
"Hands down one my favorite Asian markets in the area. The store is always clean and easy to navigate. The produce selection is always ample, with a good variety and good quality. I really appreciate how they have they meat organized here too. Lots of great cuts from pork, chicken, beef, duck, and your exotic meats too. One day I was looking for a particular cut of pork leg and while they didn't have any cut as to what I was looking for, they had no issue with checking the back and seeing if they could cut what I needed. They produced a whole leg and was able to cut the pieces I needed and all with a smile on their face. Amazing customer service. The seafood selection is just as bountiful. Fresh and frozen, you're sure to find what you're looking for."
"no thrills, no frills - just fresh/live seafood being sold in what I wouldn't even consider a market but more so a place to pick up the best and freshest of seafoods. They don't carry much of anything else but live seafood and the pricing is on point! I've came here for live crab, lobsters, spot prawns, and they are always quick and easy to deal with. It is cash only which may be a down side for some but for me, when you can pick up spot prawns (when in season) for $20/lb whilst everyone else charges $30/lb its worth a stop by the cash machine."
"Love the salmon hash from Loki at the Ballard farmers market. Smoky salmon, fresh potatoes and arugula, topped with an egg, with a creamy chipotle-like sauce."
"I recently served a beautiful piece of fresh king salmon from Wilson Fish at a dinner party. I got several comments such as" This is the best salmon I have ever had." Another reviewer complained about the price. I say, you get what you pay for. This is fresh locally caught fish. Tim, David and Gene are all helpful and friendly. I listened to a story on NPR recently that said nearly 30% of fish sold in the US is either mislabeled for actual type of fish, or country of origin. I like to know where my food is from, and I like to know who provides it. Their smoked salmon is absolutely wonderful."
"Enjoyed coming here more than Seafood City. They have a few food booths in the back after you pay for your groceries (dochi donuts, poke, dim sum, pho, banh mi, drink spot called Natalie's?). They have banh mi, cha lua, vietnamese drinks inside the market. Produce prices were average.Easy parking.I would come back if I were in the area. It's relatively close off the freeway."
"Although they do serve food to eat there, for the most part, this is a neighborhood seafood market. We love the salmon burgers -- there are two varieties, and both are good. With such a small shop, the selection of fish (as in fillets) is fairly limited, but the quality is good. We still go to Mutual Fish, or Wild Salmon when we have need, or Wilson Fish in the Madrona Farmer's Market on Fridays in season, but East Anchor is very handy if we want the fish they have."
"attention all Latin American and Caribbean PNW peopleGemini Market has bacalao (salted codfish)!!!On the east coast, this comes a dime a dozen (and cheaper) but on the west coast, this is like striking gold.Staff are friendly and professional, and the layout is solid. I walked in because I was in the area, and they were out so they took my name and number and said they'd call when it came in, and I got a call less than a week later. I really like the packaging too. The layout of the market is nice, and they also have live catches available (lobster, shellfish). There's also fresh meat, cheese and crackers."
"The Best Place in Seattle to buy your fish!Buying off the boat at Fishermen's Terminal costs you less than at supermarket or the "Fishermen's Terminal ". The direct contact with the fisherman, who can tell you exactly where the fish was caught, is a fun experience in itself. Buying off the boat at Fishermen's Terminal is a privilege that's taken for granted. Cut out the middle-man and buy your fish right off the boat. During the winter, what's available tends to be frozen (at sea). Look for fresh fish spring through early winter. The average price for salmon fillets is $7 to $8 per pound for sockeye. Spot prawns run $8 to $10 a pound. Whole sockeye can run as little as $3.50 per pound. To find the boats along the west wall just take your first left when you enter the Fishermen's Terminal, you will see Hand-stenciled sandwich boards advertising the boats that are currently selling. Bring Cash."
"Parking lot and line is a nightmare if you go during peak hours, I figured out a strategy to just go on weekdays or late nights to avoid crowds. I'm very grateful there's so many options for Asian grocery stores here in Bellevue, Asian Family Market is located more in the Bellevue Redmond area. It usually has on choy that I can't find at Hmart or Uwajimaya. What also stands out to me is the variety of vegan mock meats at the frozen section. There's a food court within this market also where it consists of a boba shop and few food spots. Tell me about your experience if you've been here or is going to after reading this review:)"
"Smoke salmon and spokes scallop was really good. There are closer to the end of the pike fish market"
"This is my favorite seafood market when I want to have some live seafood. Seafood here is fresh and alive, you cannot beat it while comparing to those frozen ones in supermarket."
"Since the pandemic started, my husband and I have been regulars here. It's kind of nice to go in and out to pick up meat, without fighting crowds in big grocery stores. I feel like quality and prices are very similar to Whole Foods. Highlight: burger patties! They're SO good. I'd make them at home over having it out bc they're that good. You can specify what kind of ground beef (like how lean), but the best is probably the fattier one. Call ahead and order to make sure they have it ready for pick up."
"This was a lovely find for me! I was going to Sprouts for the first time when I saw this place and decided to check it out! I went in knowing I need more sesame oil and noodles, but was hoping for some bean curd snacks and whatever else I could grab.Produce department was full of mostly "misses" and if I were to come back here I wouldn't even bother looking. Overall store was very clean and quite nicely organized with a great selection. The best part for me is the snacks. They actually had "bean curd snacks" right on the aisle label and I was not disappointed!! They basically had everything I can find at 99 Ranch plus a bunch of products I've never seen before. It was one of those moments I had to sit on my hands and remind myself it's not okay to buy one of everything at the same time.Just walking around the store to check their stock out I found they have a really nice selection of things across the board and it's a great Asian market to pick things up. This is super far north for me, but I can definitely see myself coming back here!"
"I love Asian markets! I was in West Seattle, and needed to grocery shop, and came across this place. If you compare it to 99 Ranch, this place is small. I usually shop at Chinese markets, and being Chinese, I know more about Chinese products. I don't know much about Vietnamese products. So a lot of the snacks were foreign to me. I did find some rice crackers I like though!I bought:- persimmons- small yams- udon noodles- rice crackersThe price of produce is just ok, not the cheapest out there, but decent."
"I accidentally found this spot while trying to get to Alki beach. Missed my exit off the freeway and was turned around in what I now have figured out is Georgetown. The signage on this place is huge and caught my attention. So many seafood choices! Live, Frozen, high quality seafood. The gentleman, named Randy, was super helpful. And his name is Randy, come on! If you know me, you what this means to me. Anyway, seriously a super awesome spot to buy crab, tuna, scallops, shrimp, dungeness crab, red king crab and wine. He pulled out a huge live red king crab from a nearby tank and I nearly died! I legitamately screamed as I had never seen such a huge crab in person before. I purchased one leg cooked and ready to dismantle later at home. The store is in a sort of warehouse type spot with a huge parking lot. Outside is the future beer/wine garden with a food truck. Randy told me all about the future plans. Can't wait! Look for their big sign and come prepared to buy some delicousness! Happy Yelping."
"This place is your typical Asian/Vietnamese grocery store just a little bit bigger with more variety if items to shop for. The smell is like you're walking along the ocean and you see seafood everywhere in the water. But I am reviewing the hot food section. Ordered the combo plate which consists of rice and two entrees, catfish kho and goat coconut curry. It was good for the price which was 6.99 and the portion was huge. The lady that served me was also very nice."
"Food: So scrumptious and delicious. I may have gone a little ham on ordering lol. The crab cakes were divine and I appreciate that it was not heavily breaded and I could taste the crab. The poutine was my favorite, I even risk my lactose intolerance for this. Crispy fries, some sort of clam chowder sauce, the cheese curds omg. So delicious! Service: order at the county and they bring the food to you.Ambiance: clean, open and cozy."
"I was always curious who would take over the former spot of A&J Meats on top of Queen Anne, my former neighborhood. Glad to see that B&E Meats and Seafood has become an established neighborhood destination. They have other locations in Burien, Des Moines, and Newcastle.I came in with a Chinook Book coupon for free samples of their signature pepperoni, beef jerky, and smoked salmon. I later shared them with family members and wow they were delicious! It's a good thing I placed them in the car trunk earlier or they would have been mere empty plastic bags!I also bought an Iberico smoked sausage and a pound of their peppered bacon.Counterperson was very pleasant and offered other choices alongside the free samples. Upon his urging, I ended up joining their VIP membership. It's great to support another indie business that provides terrific customer service and high quality products."
