A woman in the shop today was yelled at for taking photos of 3 pieces that she texted to her family as she was trying to pick out the ones they wanted. The angry lil owner was super rude during the confrontation towards her. There are no signs posted but he could've politely tell her that that wasn't allowed rather than verbally attacking her in front of everyone in the store

If you are a fan of vintage advertising (I am, in a huge way) this tiny shop on one of the lower levels of the Pike Place market is definitely something to check out. Apparently, the owner has been at it for more than 40 years so expect a well curated, well organized selection of both original and reproduction stuff.When I visited, there were very few people in the store but I'd imagine on a busy weekend that it would get very crowded. Bins are organized by theme (food, beer, tobacco, military, etc) and marked clearly if they are original or not. I snapped up 3 original ads for $40 - I especially love the glamorous smoking ad - girl is going to die from lung cancer, but dammit she's going to go out looking good!Also a plus for me was the ability to get some of the classic ad posters in a smaller size as many of my walls at home won't accommodate larger pieces. I really appreciated that they left the rigid plastic protectors on everything I bought so nothing will rumple or crease on my trip home.Obviously, this store is something that's either going to be "your thing" or not - I found it to absolutely be my thing and found some real treasures.

Every now and then you run into shops like this. I love em'!Old newspapers, vintage magazines, propaganda and ad clippings- That's what you'll find here. Out of respect for the "No Pictures" sign inside the store I have nothing to show you Yelpers, but I can tell you this place is pretty cool. I spent so much time browsing the magazine racks inside Paperworks that I almost forgot about all the delicious seafood calling my name outside- just a few storefronts away. Very cool shop and worthy of this quick 4 star review- check it out if you're in the area!

I'm always on the hunt for weird vintage ads, so this place was my candy store. A good mid-century selection of home goods, food, and fashion. I spent way too long considering an ad for corn. Their liquor ads are more typical-- lots of Guinness and stuff that you've seen in Italian restaurants-- as are their music posters. Props to the cubbies in the back full of postcards and ephemera. Snapped up several surreal '50s Betty Crocker recipe cards-- Hawaiian fondue and "appetizer loaf," anyone?Most works were $15, which seems fair. Cashier was a very friendly older guy (maybe the owner?) who made lots of conversation. Didn't understand what was up with payment-- he needed me to pay cash for my cards, though he was happy to take credit when I came back for a poster, and also wouldn't take twenties?A great stop in Pike Place Market; something for everyone here.

Yes, it is in the Market -- so it is crowded, a bit stuffy, and pricey. Fact of the matter is that this store has great vintage prints an repro prints - mags, posters, newspapers, you name it! From cheesecake to propaganda to band posters to adverts...They seemingly have it all. If you don't mind bumping elbows with people it is certainly easy to spend a lot of time browsing through all the options you have here.Definitely worth a peek for something fun to hang on your wall.

I love Pike's Market Place and was so excited to bring my fiance there for his first trip to Seattle. My fiance loves these types of shops and I was so excited to bring him to the Paperworks. He looked around and found several copies of Colliers. They were all bagged. He likes Collier's for the Damon Runyan and illustrations. He politely went to the front counter to ask if he could open the bags and was curtly told he could open one of them.Seriously? We were the only people in the store who looked like they were going to spend money and the man behind the counter was so rude. My fiance has no qualms about spending the money but he does want to see what he's paying for. So we left without buying a thing. It was really a bit shocking the poor level of customer service.

Quick review: the items are awesome -- I almost purchased a few things -- that is, until I heard the clerk speak to a customer. I'm guessing the clerk is the owner. Whoever he was, he was incredibly rude, and said "F*** you," to a customer. I don't care who or what you are, but no one deserves that kind of treatment, especially when the customer was not at all impolite. Terrible customer service! Whoever works here should not be running a business if you treat customers like dirt. Previous one star reviews will also tell you how horrible they are at communicating. Shop at your own risk!

This is the worst place ever and extremely over priced! Awful costumer service, the small man working the cashier was rude, obnoxious and started cursing people out for literally no reason- since they kindly asked for a nominal discount after purchasing 5 posters. This man has 0 business working at a shop, let alone owning one. I think he was probably bipolar or off his meds, he made a spectacle in front of other customers and scared them all away. BE CAREFUL GOING INSIDE..It's not safe.

The guy has absolutely horrible customer service. I went in looking for something James Bond. The guy was saying how everything is over $1000 and I asked if he could show me. He was super rude and insinuating I was wasting his time. I took this as being disrespectful and he literally cussed at me and yelled at me. What is going on? If the owner has cameras watch them on this date between 3:15-3:25 and look how bad it was
