It was my sister's birthday and she specifically wanted a pandan cake--something I haven't had since my childhood! I spent a loooot of time googling a place that does it, and I'm glad I found Mimi's.I walked into the bakery today, hoping they'd have some cakes available (I know a lot of places require an advance notice). Luckily the employee working there was really helpful and told me that she could have the cake done in 30 minutes!15 minutes later, I realized that I chose the wrong filling, so I called the bakery just in time and the employee was really nice and accommodating.The cake itself was sooo yummy! The pandan flavor was good and usually pandan cakes I get have a slight hint of durian (which I do not like) but this cake doesn't have that hint of durian. The cake was also moist, fluffy, and the frosting was not too sweet.Will definitely be back!

Mimi bakery is still my fav Vietnamese bakery - light and fluffy frosting that you can only get with Asian cakes and the oh-so-popular durian/pandan cake combo! Don't expect any special American style design - they are really known just for their quality and taste of the cake itself. Tip:- the "log" is a great deal if you want a slice of goodness with a new design. It's rolled inside so you actually get more filling in my opinion! It's a special order item ($18 for plain no decor; $23 for decor). A larger sized one with decor was $40- I ordered it twice! One for moms bday and one for Super Bowl party this year (see pics)- Not cheap for large cakes so expect to pay $$ for big party - order ahead of time and just call also before you come to pick up the day of to make sure it's ready (had a few times where I walked in and it wasn't ready)- she can make custom cakes

This place is terrible. They're walking distance to my work and I was craving a sweet dessert so I came by during lunch hour to a bakery that was completely empty of anything baked. I did pick up some shrimp spring rolls (2 for $3) but it was such a letdown to see the lack of cakes, breads, pastries, cookies. Nothing! They had literally three slices of cakes in the clear display and some old, cracked macarons that didn't look too great. I asked the lady and her husband working what flavored cakes they had in the display, and despite using my finger to point at the cake, they had no understanding of English and wasn't able to explain anything to me. In fact they spoke even louder in what I presume to be Vietnamese...only, speaking louder in a language that I don't understand wont make me understand you any better. LolI then asked if they sold any cream puffs but they said they only sell a dozen at $8. I didn't want a whole dozen to myself so the man did let me buy 6 for $5. I really wanted to like this place and support small businesses but Mimi's really has to do better than this. To have three measly slices on display and to employ two people who speak hardly any English during lunch hour is not good.They do also have Banh mi sandwiches on their menu but be warned, you may need a translator to order.

The beautiful cake created by Mimi for my 40th Birthday was Stunning and tasted Amazing!!! Her attention to the special details and color creation were truly appreciated. We know we have found a bakery we can count on for future events to come

Attention all DURIAN LOVERS!!!!You guys MUST order their durian pandan fruit cake!!! You WILL NOT be disappointed! They use chunks of fresh durian and not a paste. The pandan cake is baked to perfection and the cake is not too sweet. My family and I have been ordering durian cakes from Mimi for almost every occasion. Go and get you the best durian, pandan fruit cake ever! #forevercustomer

DO NOT GO HERE! I wish I can give this place zero stars. The employees and manager are absurdly rude and have no preference for customer satisfaction. We had ordered a cake at this facility and they had made an error in the spelling. Their solution of rectifying it was to gouge out the letters and to write over the existing letter in a very sloppy manner. To top it off they did not have he requested fruit on top of the cake and tried convincing us that it was not needed and charge us full price for it all. If they had better customer service I wouldn't have mind the mistakes. Overall service experience is a zero.The taste of the cake that we had no choice but to purchase was subpar... very disappointed in how the taste of the cake has changed so much. Maybe it is because of the change of management but this is no longer the place I remember.I highly advise you look elsewhere if you wish to purchase a cake or have any pastries/desserts.

We bought a durian cake for a friend's bday and didn't realize how hard it was to find a durian cake in Seattle! We called everywhere! The lady was super sweet and fulfilled our order the day of! We called in the morning and she had it ready for us for pickup in the early afternoon. The pandan cake didn't really taste too much like pandan, maybe it requires some more flavoring and the cake was a bit dry. I liked that they didn't use a ton of cream on the outside though and the cake was well made. There was a huge layer of fresh durian in the middle though and it made the cake. I usually see places skimp on filling but this durian cake was pungent in all the rice places

This review is long overdue, but every time I thought about how horribly they screwed up on a special order cake, my blood pressure would rise a couple of unhealthy notches. My coworker and I special ordered an ube cake with a cruise ship (I work for a cruise line) to be on the cake two weeks before our holiday event. On the day we were suppose to pick up, I called to confirm the pick up time three hours in advance. They obviously forgot my order and scrambled to make it. When we arrived to pick up the cake, they were still freaking making it! If you look at my attached photos, you will see how messy the designs are, the horrible scribble they call writing, and my clever ship is a sailboat that looks like it's been through a couple of windstorm. To top off how terrible this place is, the cake was super dry and had no ube flavor whatsoever. The design was a mess and the flavor was a mess. Such a complete embarrassment since this was for a special work function. Needless to say, I will never return and I will never recommend. I think I rather be set on fire than order another cake from this place.

Omg was introduced to this bakery a few months ago when a friend stopped by with their pandan and young coconut cake. Haven't stopped thinking about it since. We ordered a 10" for Christmas and it was as delicious as I remember. Best cake ever. Inside is so lovely and smells amazing according to my husband who picked up the cake. Will definitely be my request for all the birthdays and special occasions in the future.

Pandan cake with coconut filling was yummy. Would recommend if looking for pandan cake. 10inch round was $65.
