"After hosting an event nearby in Edmonds, my boyfriend and I were leaving lunch to head home... That is, until we saw the door open at Engel's on a sunny Sunday afternoon and decided one more beer wouldn't hurt, right? What really drew us in was the dive atmosphere and the dart boards we saw in the back. We walked in, ordered a beer, and headed straight back to the boards (nobody else was back there, bonus!)Whoever was playing the music was also on point, as it was a great collection of throwbacks. We ended up staying for TWO beers, and had a great time. The service was great as well, and for a nicer day, I'm surprised it wasn't packed! I'm not up in the Edmonds area a ton, but when I return, Engel's will definitely be one of my stops!"
"Big Bang is a lot of fun. It's not all luxe like Rockbox; in fact, it's pretty much the opposite with decor that Hillary from Trading Spaces would have come up with, but it's a great time!Cost us $25/an hour to be here with a private room, and we walked in without reservations. Reservations are available and encouraged, else you'll be waiting. The lighting automatically changes for each song, with the room lights automatically coming up between songs. Would have liked being able to control that, and the disco ball was either dead or burnt out, but no big deal. They have songs in English, Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, and Filipino. They call it "Philippinese" on the menu, good grief! Some of the translations between languages is incorrect for the songs, but who cares. The karaoke machine scores the singer at the end. The three of us found it interesting how it scored us when we were doing a duet or all three of us were singing. They don't allow outside food or drink but had menus available for ordering. No waitstaff came and checked us on the whole time, would have liked being able to order some drinks.Parking is free! This is located in a strip mall that's away from the main road of 99."
"Fun place to enjoy a private karaoke session. The song selection is enormous though I'm not a huge fan of the interface and search options available (searching by initial versus key words or letters). There is a very large selection of songs in foreign languages like Japanese, Chinese, and Korean though the selection in English is large enough to satisfy most groups. The sound system and video were great, and the settings for the vocal/background mix and reverb were good. Overall, a solid choice for karaoke and I'd return here again."
"This is a very easy stop if you're going to the movies right next door. They are open somewhat late even on a weeknight which is very convenient. They have a bar so you can get a Mai Tai or whatever you like with your dinner. The serving portion is generous. The vegetables spring rolls are definitely vegetable and have a very crisp snap to them."
"One of our go to joints in the area. I'm not enthusiastic about the Coug fandom, but what are you gonna do."
"Great staff, reasonable prices and definitely a great place to go to chat it up with the locals. Not the cleanest, and I have never eaten here but if you're looking to play the jukebox, or the free pool table or just make new friends this is the place to go. Keep in mind, this is a tiny bar in a tiny Town so keep your expectations in check."
"Delicious drinks and fantastic karaoke! I finally got the chance to come here after hearing so many people rave about this place. The rooms aren't too big but they can fit a good amount of people, and they're system for video playing, lights, sound, applause, etc is wonderful.Their drinks are also so yummy - I got the sake sangria which was so delicious. It had just the right amount of sake flavor and the sweet wine was fantastic. I definitely need to come back for more drinks and karaoke!"
"Super friendly staff amidst the busy UW football game! Had a crisp apple pie Schillings cider on tap and split a pitcher of mango cart beer."
"I came on a Saturday night for some live music where cover was $10/person. They were accepting cash or card for the cover. Drinks were crazy inexpensive for Seattle - 2 beers, a whiskey ginger, and a cider were only $24. Cover was definitely cheap to factor in the live music and the cheap drinks. As a lady, it would definitely be easy to come without a partner as there are many regulars that are really great at dancing and can swing you around. I'd definitely come back for some line dancing on other evenings!"
"Nice dive bar. We came on a Saturday night. They had a DJ. Mostly spent our time playing darts. Pool tables were booked all night. This club has a level of raunch without the extra ghetto. Drinks prices were fair and our Adios were strong."
"We didn't know what to expect when we ordered from Cocos Mariscos. We made the trek from Everett because my SO wanted mariscos for his birthday. It was Sunday and when we stood outside before going in, we weren't sure anyone was inside because the windows are covered by that film you can see through from inside, but not outside. We were shocked to see that the restaurant is huge inside. And every table was full of families and couples who were enjoying their meals. From the time we called and a friendly woman took our order to the time we picked up, we received excellent customer service. It's upsetting to see one-star reviews on Yelp that are from people who never even WENT to the restaurant. The racism in Snohomish County is one of the reasons I don't feel comfortable coming to Snohomish as a POC. I don't frequent any of the businesses here, but I would come back to Cocos Mariscos because the vibe here is fantastic. Take the one-star reviews with a grain of salt. Especially if it's obvious that they are targeting this restaurant and not from people who actually paid for a meal there. It seems to be family run. A matronly woman welcomed us in and at least three people behind the counter smiled and helped us in some way. On the way out, even the bartender waved and said goodbye. Now, the food. Everything was good. The breaded coconut shrimp was addictive but I would have loved it even more if it came with a dipping sauce. The garlic shrimp was deliciously seasoned. Yes, it had the shells on. I don't mind that the shells were on, but they were a little hard to peel because the shell was split. The fried tilapia was a gigantic helping; moist, and tasty. BUT. It's expensive. This is not an every day place. It's a place you come for a special meal because you know you're going to spend $$$.The parking lot is busy and it was packed on a Sunday afternoon. It may be best to park a little ways away and walk."

"You're a green one, Mr. Grinch! You taste like an AMF!"That was my impression of this seasonal cocktail, as I said in the covered sidewalk dining area in Edmonds' main street. My wife and I came up from Portland to check out the Christmas market and central shopping district before taking the ferry over to Kingston and Poulsbo. We stopped for a couple drinks to shake off the cobwebs of our three hour drive, before venturing out to convene our Christmas shopping. Engels seems like a fun local pub, the kind of place we would frequent as locals. The staff were welcoming and friendly, and enjoyed the company of our canine companions, even amidst the sometimes cramped, canopied dining area. My Grinch was strong enough to take the edge off my fatigue without getting me hammered, and my wife's Pomegranate Smash did the same without leaving her smashed, as well.Maybe next time we'll be able to enjoy the interior ambiance, but these days, just being able to be served and enjoy a cocktail in public, even in the street, is a luxury for which we are thankful!

My new favorite place! The rooms are all themed for different planets (Jupiter is tiny and it's adorable) and the rooms are comfy and well decked out with party lights and mood lighting to really get you into diva mode. The music selection is really great too. They had every song we wanted to sing (sans die antwoord but that was a long shot anyway) and the setup was easy. The man working there that night was also really nice and made conversation with our friend visiting from Korea. As per usual, you can have alcohol and snacks taken to your room but we noticed they had menus for the Izakaya restaurant next door so it seems you can order food from there and have it brought over as well. If that's true then that is dope. So we plan on going back very soon to sing our little hearts out. La la la

Pros:- Easy to make reservations via phone- $50/hr room rate for the small room (fits 8-10 people)- touchscreen song system that's easy to navigate- clean room, mics, and bathroomCons:- a bottle of soju is $23!! That's just plain unreasonable.- street-parking only (but it's ID, so expect it)I came here for my birthday and was happy with the experience. The rooms were well-maintained and easy to use. The workers are friendly. For two hours in the small room (8-10 people), we paid a total of $130 ($50/hour plus tax plus auto-gratuity). Alcohol prices are crazy; you're better off pregaming before.

I tried a few different dishes and overall I was impressed! The egg roll and crab rangoon we great, nice and crispy even when delivered, and the sauce was different but delicious! Hot & sour soup is delicious- nice and spicy with lots of flavor. Sesame chicken had a lot of breading but it was still very comforting and yummy. And last, garlic chicken was fresh and tasty, it came with mushrooms and carrots which were both nice compliments. I'll definitely order again!

After a couple of months being fried-chickenless, my wife was in desperate need of a hit. On a whim, I found Marco Polo and saw that most everyone enjoyed their fried chicken. Now, my wife is a fried chicken connoisseur. It's one of her favorite foods and would eat it everyday if not for the overall poor health effects it has on the body, so this place would need to blow her mind for her to consider it worthy of suggesting to others. Not only was the fried chicken everything she wanted in her life, we left Marco Pollo knowing this would become a place we frequent often before we leave Seattle. Prior to writing a review, I wanted us to try it a second time. The first experience was amazing, but we'd gone after a couple of drinks. Today, stone-cold sober, we came back to Marco Polo and for one of the first times in our adult lives our drunk selves were 100% correct. The service here stands out. There is no waiting around at the bar attempting to catch someone's attention to order. We had the pleasure of having two different teams of bartenders during both visits, and everyone we interacted with are spectacular. In fact, they do not provide outdoor table service, understandably so as it is a bar, but the bartenders today still went out of their way to serve us outside because it was a slow period. Please note that this is above and beyond service and should not be expected as the norm; when they're busy, I can see how it would be difficult to handle outdoor table service, because, again, it's a bar. During our first visit, our bartender was just ridiculously friendly. We're from Texas and unfamiliar with the very easy way to donate money to a bar that is described as pull-tab gambling. Our bartender took the time to explain everything about it to us, but didn't pressure us into doing it. He also spent time just chatting us up in general. Both of our experiences at Marco Pollo have just been amazing. The space itself is vast featuring plenty of seating and TVs inside and a great patio outside with comfortable seating. Also, they're dog-friendly which is always a plus for me. Now the whole point as to why I wanted to write this review. My apologies y'all, I enjoy rambling. Anyways, the fried chicken is absolutely delicious. I hope the people making the food are making bank because on both occasions we have been blown away. The first time, we didn't even need sauce to eat it - it tasted that good. I saw some mention it's too salty while also lacking flavor, which that itself is an odd take as salt provides flavor, but I have to tell y'all, this fried chicken tastes amazing and has plenty of flavor. We also had the mini-corn dogs and I had the sweet bacon sandwich today, I think that's what it was called, and it just was all amazing. If you're in the market for a fried chicken hit, look no further; Marco Pollo is your destination for your chicken needs.

A great dive bar to stop in after a day of hiking the Mountain Loop area.Free lot/street parking is available. Discover is an accepted form of payment. Must be 21+.Spar Tree offers a dart board, music, TV's, an ATM machine, pool tables (2), full bar and free WiFi.Food is standard bar food, deep-fried or burgers. My wife and I each started with a Manny's for $5 each.We shared the Alaskan Cod (2 pieces) & Chips for $9.50. The fish was panko battered and served nice and crispy. The fish wasn't greasy at all. The fries were well seasoned and firm. I dislike soggy hand-cut fries. I was pleasantry surprised to receive Broccoli Slaw in place of standard coleslaw. The only complaint that I have about Spar Tree is that I was over-charged for the fish. Menu lists the price as $9.50 and we were charged $12.50 instead. Our server promptly corrected the over-charge once I brought it to his attention.Overall, my wife and I will return in the future for refueling after playing in the area.

My friend and I visited on a Monday early evening. They have awesome drinks that are cheaper than average but are super delicious. I ordered a blood orange mojito for about $10 that was amazing. The staff was awesome. Shawn, the bartender, was great to talk to, and the woman at the karaoke check-in booth was super friendly too. My friend and I didn't get a room but stayed to karaoke in the lobby for free (1 drink minimum). It was just us two for a while putting in song after song. I was afraid of bothering the staff too much but they were so nice about it!
Visit Restaurant Page"Super cute place! I love the aquatic theme and the owners here. Beer is local. They have a 'food bar' which looks great! They also have karaoke on Saturday nights! Definitely a great, unique spot to grab a beer."
"I mean what is there not to love about a local "dive" bar? The drinks are great and super affordable. The bartenders are friendly too. I've been here a few times and each time I have always had a great time with friends. There are regulars who come, sometimers and every once in whilers and always someone's first time - but everyone here is friendly and welcoming. You won't find a pretentious crowd here. True local people who are out singing karaoke and having a few drinks. The drinks are delicious and are poured very well. They serve food here and is always hot and fresh!"
"We were looking for a quick place to run in and have a quick birthday drink but we were craving pickle backs.Oddly not every bar serves them.I tried Yelp, called some friends, and then stumbled into this PUB since it was the closest. We parked, put our masks on and walked in. We felt like we were from outer space or something. Walking in with masks... When no one in the bar was wearing one... And they were all staring at us.We tried to find a table to walk up to, but the tables are huge (seat 8 people) and 1 or 2 people were at each one.We weren't sure what we were supposed to do so we kept waking until we reached the other side and there was a small cocktail table next to the darts. It took a little while to get someone to take out drink order, so we played darts and just hung out.We were able to order Picklebacks which was nice, we played 2 rounds of darts and then headed out.I can see that this would be a nice local dive, great for watching a game, nothing fancy. Has some pool tables and some darts, lots of pull tabs and big TV screens"
"This is the place my mom and all her friends would go to to grab a drink and hang out 30 years ago...seems crazy that this dive is still around. It's not a place to go to dance, or get dressed up, or go with too big of a group....but it IS the place to go if you want stiff drinks, hang outside, and shoot the it.3 or 4 drinks in that place is like 6 or 8 somewhere else....so you have to be careful. They have a pool table, horse shoes, a nice area to hang out outside, a juke box for music (just hope someone didn't load it up with music that sucks), they have trivia nights, pool tournaments, etc. If it wasn't for the nostalgia, and the fact it's within walking distance of my girlfriend's place....I wouldn't necessarily make it a destination as far as bars. But if you're in the neighborhood....drop in and have a drink out on the patio!"
"Service is iffy. Sometimes it's been great, other times horrible. I keep going back because it's a great place to play some games and get some good food. They have excellent wraps and apps, amazing tots."
"We stopped in here for a couple of drinks. It's a great dive. The place looks like it's right out of 1974. The old beer signage, sports on tv and vinyl seating. I loved it the second we walked in.It was also pretty cheap. We grabbed a pitcher and had a great time. Unfortunately we didn't get any food, but the beer tasted great and we were able to have a fun conversation. I'd come back here anytime."
"I was really really hungry when I arrived at Talarico's which was recommended by someone who lives nearby and is a regular. We sat outside because I had my dog with me and were given the menu right away. But our server never came so we ended up ordering from the host. Our waiter came later to apologize and the saving grace was that the food came out super quick. We ordered the chop salad and I had a slice (yes, huge slice) of the butternut pizza Wow! I don't know what kind of sorcery they do to their crust that makes it so crispy and delicious. It has a special taste and I don't know what is but I loved it. Definitely recommend. Definitely will be back."
"My friend lives nearby so we come here fairly often. Its very small and has a very neighborhoody feel to it. I think most of the people who come here are regulars. I've driven by this place a million times and never stopped in until my friend started coming here. It's only just recently that I realized they have their own tiny parking lot off to the side. There is a pool table and some darts inside, some nights they have karaoke. We usually end up sitting at the bar where we get incredible service with frequent water fill ups. Bartenders are always helpful and make sure drinks are served in a timely manner. I hear they have food but I never see it. If you like small, unfancy places this is worth checking out, especially if you live in the area."
"Imagine an office conference room, with laptop, decent sound system, a couple mics, and most importantly BYOB. This is basically SBK in a nutshell. $5.50 per person, per hour (this is amazingly cheap) and great for group events. Hosted a celebration for my big sister's 40th here and the group had a great time. Owners were a friendly older couple and made a couple accommodations for us which I really appreciated. One minor complaint is that the rooms can get a bit warm with all the singing, dancing (and drinking) so dress accordingly. All in all, a surprising find for the area and a good spot for no-frills group karaoke."
"Week 42/52 in my endeavor to try one new (to me!) local spot per week. My little cousin FINALLY turned 21, and we decided to take him out a little mini barhopping experience around Capitol Hill. We started at The Hideout, as he had noticed the bar earlier in the week and was curious about it.Security at the door was kind and was checking vaccination proof even before the mandate requirement of Oct. 25th, which I appreciated. This bar is COOL. Very hole-in-the-wall type, but a little more upscale then that? It's quirky and eclectic with all of the art hung up. And even more fun, it was decorated for spooky season with dim lighting, lots of cobwebs, spiders, etc. It was definitely a vibe. While The Hideout definitely serves up a cool atmosphere, the service left a little to be desired. It wasn't too busy and the drinks took a whileee to get. We were going to go up and get a second round, until we saw that the one bartender on duty was getting a reading done by a psychic that was working at the bar... It took her upwards of 20 minutes, and the line got long QUICK, even though there weren't many people. The menu listed on their website for cocktails isn't accurate (can't remember the name of what I got!), but my drink wasn't bad. It was a play on a mule, pretty refreshing. My husband noted that his Old Fashioned was a little watered down. All in all not a bad choice, I'd come back... Maybe when the psychic wasn't working!"
"I came here a few weeks ago with ten of my friends and we had a great group bonding time! The room and audio speakers were much nicer than I had expected for place that's basically hidden from street view. Pricing was $43/hour for a large room (10 people +) or $35/hour for a small room (up to 8 people) so you definitely want to come here in a LARGE GROUP. They charge an additional fee per person (around $7) if you exceed their room number limits. The website for this place is super sketchy and unhelpful, so I recommend CALLING the number ahead of time to make sure they have an open room available. The workers speak both Mandarin and English.Enkore is strict about their no allow outside food and drink policy. They have a limited menu, but you can also eat somewhere else on The Ave afterwards.Their song library is pretty good overall, but they don't have every song available. Also some of the songs and music videos are covers by Korean artists, so they're not necessarily sung by the original artists.Overall: 4/5 for the experience, 4/5 for service"
"It's a dive bar, as you probably suspected when walking by Central Tavern. Located in downtown Kirkland, behind these closed doors is a dark room with red lighting and a funky odor. Thus, I bring you Central Tavern. It's definitely a locals hang out. We visited Central Tavern after a wine tasting event and the place was alright. After ordering a local IPA on tap, we sat at one of the tables and the place quickly filled with peeps who seems to frequent this spot. We visited on a hot day, so the place was extra muggy because the AC was broken. And the mugginess brought on an odor, mixed with people sweating, so yeah, it was one of those instances. Central Tavern isn't a bad spot though, if you forget about the broken AC issue. For a dive bar though, people didn't seem as chummy like at other dive bars I've visited. A little standoffish, I must say, which was surprising. Not the most fun place in Kirkland for drinks, but it'll be cheaper than most spots around. They have darts and pool tables."
"I love coming here! The new menu is AWESOME and the bartenders are fantastic. Can't recommend the sliders and chicken quesadilla enough. Their hours were shaky for a little because of the shutdown but they've been reliable since. I love the cider they bring in, it's really nice without being obnoxiously sweet."
"This place turned out to be about the same as what I expected it would be. We were there on a Saturday night for a birthday party. We were in the VIP section. The section was in the back of the whole place, it had a waitress and fenced in seatings. That was about it. Nothing special. The well drinks were around 4.75. I thought it was not bad comparing to the drink prices outside, but I don't know what other casinos are charging. The band playing on Saturday night was Aphrodisiacs, they mainly sang 70s pop, disco songs. It was really not my cup of tea, but generally people think they are great. I am not sure I would give this place another chance in the future. Maybe another night of a week...."
"First and foremost, this is a bar. The mai tais are pretty, pretty, pretty good! We have always had great service sitting at the bar. Secondly, it's kind of a dive bar, and you are going to get some fairly good entertainment whether it's from people watching or karaoke. The other night, the lady starting off the karaoke should think about American Idol or The Voice because I could have sat there all night listening to her sing. It can be a fun crowd. Of all things, I like the building. The place is old and run down with remnants of when Chinese restaurants were a treat. The old sign out front and the lanterns hanging from the ceiling give it a great character. Lastly, the food is a mix of bar food and Chinese dishes. It's good to have something to fall back on if you have pounded back a few too many cocktails, but I wouldn't let it be your first reason for going to Rickshaw."
"I love a good dive bar, and this Ballard classic doesn't disappoint. With its dark interior, vintage seating, and hidden away vibe it checks all the boxes for a place you're not likely to run into anyone you know. But **wow** do they deliver for karaoke night! Held multiple times per week, I've been twice now and it's probably one of the best karaoke bars I've ever been do. The music is great, the sound system is fantastic, and (best of all) the crowd is over-the-top amazing. When I sing karaoke, I like everyone to think I'm Beyonce herself slinging out the tunes on the main stage. Of course, I'm no Beyonce. In fact, I can barely hold a tune. But you wouldn't know it 'cuz this crowd is on FIRE. They dance. They cheer. They sing along. They make you feel like you should be touring the country with your latest rendition of "Take on Me" or other long-ago tunes. The Waterwheel also has an impressive selection of good beer on tap, strong drinks, and deadly jello shots. Getting a little warm after belting out the hits? Their outdoor seating area is great too! I haven't tried their food yet, but...next time for sure."
"Cozy bar! I felt right at home when I walked in here. This could be a spot that you meet up with the girls/guys and pre-funk or if you just want to come watch the game and have a few cocktails! It was clean, spacious and all the fixings for fun bar:). Our bartender was really nice! CJ was very attentive and kept me and my cousin laughing the whole time. I'll have to come back to try some food and again thanks for the great service and cocktails!"
"I came here with my friend who is a regular and good friend of the people I'm this bar - the bartenders are nice - it was karaoke night and that was enjoyable - I went on a Friday night and stayed until 12:15 am- I met up with a fellow friend and we played pool briefly - I got a pineapple cider that was very good - I asked the bartender to make me a White Russian - the vodka was too fiery for me and it was hard for me to finish - the drink formula wasn't as smooth as I usually have it in New York - people at the bar were lively - there is a fireplace on a table inside the bar which was also pleasant - they check ID at this bar and it was a nice vibe as I don't go to bars often. My friend loves this place. I'm glad I went with him."
"This is the only place open every night until 1am in Redmond. And yes, the have karaoke every night. It's divey but... didn't I mention is the o my one open? Beggars can't be choosers. Service is on par with any other divey bar. I've seen people ordering food but I've never tried it so I can't say if good or bad."
"It is a great place for those who love skewers. You can get them grilled and also them dipped in a hot pot style. We did both. The flavors were great, and we really didn't need to make our own sauces. They also have karaoke option available, and people can sing while eating. The service was pretty decent. The interior is well spread out and can accommodate a large party. Their medium broth actually has a good spice to it."
"Dragged out of town friends to this bar because I wanted to do Karaoke. It was a slow night and perfect for a first timer here. Super fun vibe and of course tiki drinks. Signing up to sing is easy and fun. Search by song and or artist. Make a choice and wait for your name to be called. Super fun bar if you want to be a rockstar, I mean pretend to be one. Lol. Good singer, bad singer, just have fun. YOLO and SYOY."
"We love this place! The servers, the food, the specials. All of it. You have to try their breakfasts!"
