"This spot echoes the former Hyphen, however, there are more products to check out with a updated layout. After seeing the KING5 feature on Mixed Pantry, I made sure to stop by on 2/18/24. I enjoyed going through each aisle and shelf. I ended up buying more sisig mix, two bags of Sugimoto tea powder (hojicha and genmaicha), and a jar of Dan Dan Sauce. Takeshi "Tak" Kunimune, owner of Mixed Pantry, sure has upbeat presence and effervescence. One feels welcomed while wandering through the shop. His enthusiasm and knowledge base demonstrates that the featured products have been carefully selected, vetted and of excellent quality. Great find in Seattle's Belltown neighborhood!"
"Lots of baked goods, small but excellent selection of fresh Mexican produce, and lots of bulk ingredients you might not necessarily find in a larger grocery chain (including several varieties of those cool tamarind straws for micheladas). The place is pretty small and also has a hot bar/small restaurant, along with a bakery/panaderia with people picking up a bunch of stuff + lots of things not necessarily translated to English - a good sign to me, and lots to explore within the size of the store :)"
"Not only, is this a good size grocery, for a huge variety of items from south of the border, but they also now have a little cafe, in the far back. The food was so good, and service was wonderful. Not knowing what to try, the nice lady, was so helpful, and friendly. Don't expect a fancy restaurant, more a fun little street cafe experience. You'll feel like you just transported, to a vacation in Mexico."
"This is such a fun store to get all sorts of Asian snacks, drinks and quickie foods from. There's a wide selection from different countries and there were some items I had never seen before in other Asian food stores. Prices are very fair. Some examples of items I saw were canned bubble tea, Calpico, Asian Lay's potato chip flavors (Spicy duck tongue potato chips anyone?), Japanese KitKats, and Buldak ramen. The store itself is smallish but is easy to browse through. Service at the counter was fast and friendly. I'd definitely go back to stock up on snacks if I were in the area."
"It's a share this place is hidden off of Main Street. After many years being around this area, today was the first time I got to check it out after doing some search online for Korean stores. Glad I found it. Not as big of a selection as H Mart, but plenty of unique and fresh foods, some greats buys too!I got a little carried away and got a nice spread to compliment my kbbq cravings. The pork belly and jowls were sensational, easy to cook and delicious with a sprinkle of salt, pepper, and sweet red chili flakes on top.The cooked deli foods are fresh and come at good price. With this was closer of a drive for me, but glad I discovered this new gem to visit when I go "all the way up north"."
"I like that this store had the raw Shea butter retail and wholesale prices. They also have hand made black soap but the quantities are too large. So happy I now have a place that sells raw tortillas, whereas the grocery stores in Seattle does not. I'll keep coming to this place for my items."
"Well, you get what you ask for in Burien, right? In order to get to larger Asian markets around South Seattle, you either have to travel a bit to Seattle or White Center in order to gain more selections. This is as good as it gets, for it is literally 5 mins from where I live. The prices might be slightly more expensive than other Asian stores since it is the only one in Burien, so you just have to be okay with that. The good news is you won't have to fight for parking spot or worry about some bad Asian drivers hitting your car (I'm sorry if this comment might be offensive to some others, but you know it IS true). The issue I have with this store is the confusion of the shelf arrangements! May be it is just me... But....Last weekend, I wanted to look for bamboo shoots and corn (the kinds that have reserved liquid in the cans). You would think that they would have the bamboo shoots and the corn listed all together on the shelf OR in the same aisle since they are.... products in the cans! However, I found the bamboo shoots in one side, and I had to carry my basket to the other side in order to get the corn! Every time I come here, I seem to have to learn about certainly odd arrangements they have in the store. No worries since I am getting used to the market now. There is this short Vietnamese man who does the stocking in the store, and it is my fault that I never got his name. He is very helpful. Every time I ask him, he is always able to point out the products and their locations. Thank goodness for his usefulness! Will come back soon when I feel lazy to go to Seattle / White Center AND if they have the products I'm cooking for."
"I stopped in during a trip to the Saturday market in the village. This appears as a convenient location. There are three picnic size tables out front, but be aware on a hot weekend, the garbage smell may linger due to the location. For the food: we ordered a traditional gyro. The meat was flavorful but the gyro overall was lacking on the other ingredients. It needed more of the refreshing crunch (lettuce/onion) but did have enough sauce. As for the price, it felt a bit high considering it was a stand alone item. I can give credit that perhaps being right next to the village maybe the rents are high. Another +1 for how quick the food came out, but the staff were not welcoming or friendly in anyway. Kind of a bummer, but will definitely give another chance because everyone has their day.I did note that some folks at the other table had orders of salads and possibly a platter - they looked like healthy portions and down right delicious. I will be back with an update before the end of summer, and hopefully can incorporate this into my regular take out schedule. It has potential!"
"Like the other reviewers here, I'm also new to Mexican cooking. I've been here several times, and they always have what I need. For some reason, lard is hard or impossible to find at large chain supermarkets, but I found it easily at La Superior. They have a better selection of chilis than other supermarkets at much lower prices. The cashier/clerk who works there is also super helpful. In my last trip, I was looking for epazote, and not only did she point me out where it was, but even helped me find the freshest bundle of epazote she had in her fridge.I hope to continue exploring Mexican cooking, and I'm glad I have La Superior here to watch my back."
"This is a new South Asian grocery store that opened up recently. The owner is very friendly and helpful. The prices are reasonable and he has a good selection of Indian sweets in the refrigerated display case. He's got all the staples in terms of spices, pulses, grains, and condiments. The fresh food supply is limited but he's got the basics. Nice little store and close by to my house"
"This place is really cool and offers a variety of Mexican food and goods, including a carniceria, candy, and lots of piñatas at a great price!! I'm only reviewing this for the pinatas and candy that we bought - they offer better pricing and more selection than what you would find at a party store. Will come back again to browse!"
"What a truly lovely Persian & Mediterranean market! This market had me and my partner very excited - He is from Turkey and was overjoyed to discovered so many Turkish staples. We spend so much time going aisle by aisle, making sure that we didn't miss anything. Everything was so well stocked and clean. We spent over $150 at the end and they even gave us a free dessert to try - which I must say was delicious and super sweet of them. Needless to say, we'll definitely be back here to restock again very soon!"

Love that Hyphen lives in in two businesses. Was finally able to check out Mixed Pantry this weekend. Have been wanting to visit since they opened. Tak makes you feel right at home and is so knowledgeable about the ingredients he sells. So nice to have a place to get imported speciality items and other goods from Asian American companies across the US.Love look of the space, open and lots of natural lighting. It's always wasy to find items they're never overly crowded sheIves. I always walk out with a purchase this time it was with curry popcorn and a sweet yuzu vinegar. Looking forward to my next visit have been introduced to so many products here.

This market has all the fun and flavor of a proper latino grocery store. There is music playing, all the delicious prepared foods via a mini restaurant the back and a great selection of meat from the butcher section. The chincharon and hot carnitas are to die for! Not to mention the bakery section that may have the very best donuts in town. I have been to big stores and this one although small beats them all. Not much to say bad about it.. perhaps the religious people who solicit outside the door but that just me being picky.

I love this store! I come specifically for the carnitas and the chicharrones that are made only on the weekends. They have a variety of Latino food, spices, etc. The staff is friendly and it's just a great atmosphere. My only regret is that I live pretty far from this place, otherwise I'd be here more often. I hope this helps in your decision to come here.

Owned by H-marts parent company so the quality is the same, except it's MUCH cheaper!!! All the meat is cheaper by $3-5/pound easily. The selection of banchan is terrible though, compare to H-marts but that's because they're not as busy or popular. Definitely shop here to save more money! Just realized how jacked up expensive Hmart is...

Wayne's is a family-owned business that sells produce and meats at an affordable price! Their products are unique and come from all around the world. They have Mexican/Hispanic products, Asian products (Chinese, Vietnamese, Indian, Filipino, etc.), European products, etc. They also have your everyday products so it could be your one stop shop for grocery shopping.

Love this place! We've been going for years. Wish the food was a little more consistent. My biggest gripe is the pita being hard in spots, and chicken being overcooked ruins the taste. Other than that delish! Love the lamb souvlaki and the gyros.

"Elote, mangonada and did I say elote??I thought nobody in the WA can beat the Roasted corn man, but after he told me his friend runs one near beacon hill, I used my trusty yelp app and found there was one right next to the VA which is a bonus!!!$3 a cup or cob and they have everything from takis chips, to grasshoppers!!!"
"Just moved to Seattle Metro and needed a serious restock of Persian essentials. Loved this place! Well stocked, great variety and prices reasonable. Customer service was great. A gentleman carried my bag of basmati out to my car for me. Easy parking and easy to get to. Can't wait to need more stuff!"
"Newly opened international grocery store close to home (we are elated)! A plethora of grocery selections, clean and spacious aisles, with both refrigerated items and fresh produce, and welcoming owners! Looking forward to more south Indian brands selections. I sympathize with the store opening coincides the COVID-19 "stay home", not many customers at the time we visited. But hey, it means social distancing are well maintained here. Give it a try! Support local businesses. :)"
"While in Seattle, we needed to stock up on some Korean groceries, so we came to this H Mart.As other H Mart locations, they have snack items, candies, produce, specialty items, houseware goods, as well as some pre-made hot food. We picked up some veggies, meats for KBBQ, and ramen. The store is a bit smaller, but seems well-stocked. There were also items that I haven't seen in other H Marts, like the butter kimchi ramen!Plenty of parking in the large lot.+well-stocked selections+parking in shared plaza lot"
"This review is for the banh mi at the deli here. I was at Hello Banh Mi nearby to grab some banh mi and bubble tea, and after ordering, forgot to order the banh mi. So I remembered they sell them here, and decided to give them a try. I ordered the Grilled Chicken one and the Grilled Pork. They were decently priced, a little bit under $4 each. They were both pretty good. Bread wasn't too hard or dry, and the meat was tender. And I liked that they used paté instead of mayo. If nearby, I wouldn't mind trying other sandwiches."
"I always find what I need here lots of Arabic products and unlike a lot of international markers the expiration date is way way out (just remember most use the British format of date) don't forget to bring cash and you get a little discount. Lots of parking which is highly convenient!"
"Wow! This place carries sweets and food items that bring back childhood memories. In my childhood I used to consume the best turkish goodies! I feel lucky to have found Koza in kirkland. Friendly, Clean and Organized"
"If you want to make street style tacos at home, this is the place to go. They have so many cuts of meat, beef, pork, chicken that are perfect for grilling. Tell them you want the meat seasoned and they'll add seasoning and a citrus marinade at no extra charge. Add some tortillas, queso fresco and some fresh pico and you have an amazing Mexican meal. They also have pre-made fajita filling, beef jerky, pastor taco filling and a small selection of Mexican pantry goods, vegetables and pastries. Friendly service and reasonable prices."
"This is the second Marvel Grocery Store and one I haven't ever been into until this past weekend. The place is very popular and gets congested terribly easy with customers. The deli set up is slightly different than the Tacoma location as it must be common to have heavy customer traffic and you have to pick a number in order to get waited on at the deli. They have about the same merchandise as the Tacoma location other than a few noticeable differences like the Auburn location has a hot case area(The Tacoma used to have one but no longer does) so you can get ready to eat food items like sausages and chicken. We had a chicken piece in a deep fried batter which was delicious but there was no sign for the name of what we had. Best get to the hot case area early in the day as the close it up in early to mid afternoon. On the flip side the Tacoma location has what looks like a fully functional bakery where you can purchase freshly baked breads while the Auburn location has packaged breads that looked shipped in.This location and the Tacoma location both have a wonderful freshly made dessert pastry section so there is plenty of sweet temptations at both locations but a few of those options look like they vary between the two locations."
"The business located at the following address is Dong Sing Market, not to be confused with Dong Hing Market. Dong Hing is listed here on Yelp, but it is actually located at 1001 S Jackson St. which is about three blocks from Dong Sing. The weird thing about this, is that this store used to be called Dong Hing Market several years ago. Got that? I wonder why each store decided on such similar names because it is confusing to Yelpers.Dong Sing is actually not very big, but it is one market located in the heart of Chinatown/I-District. Produce is piled high on the street for your perusal. Inside the market you will find groceries like you would find at Dong Hing or Hau Hau or Hop Thanh, but they carry a smaller selection due to limited size. They do have a meat and fish counter in the back however.I have found the prices here to be slightly higher than a few of their I-District counterparts, but still better than at a traditional supermarket. Overall, Dong Sing Market is decent and the location makes it worth a visit."
"I love coming to this place around 4 p.m. the aroma of freshly baked pan fills the air. This place isn't only a meat shop and store but a panaderia (bakery) as well. So far this store has the best mexican style breads. Its always soft and fresh. Its never old. There's a large assortment of bread everything from conchas to chivas and even muffins. But get here to late and its slim pickings. They also do tres leches birthday cakes. The cakes are a little expensive but are muy ricas They have a large assortment of mexican goods like spices and candies and piñatas. And ofcoarse the meat selection is the best around. There's also fresh cheeses as well. There are phone cards and services for sending money."
"I'm in Seattle for a work trip and I have to RESTRAIN myself from coming here to eat for every. meal. The food is so tasty and some of the prepared stuff gets a 20% markdown after 17:00. I recommend going to the downstairs soup/soondubu dish place & trying their jjamppong, especially if you love mussels (they have a crap ton of mussels in theirs). I also recommend their fried chicken (and I'm not even a big fried chicken girly tbh). I also loved their tteokbokki. If I had a bigger budget I would be stuffing my suitcase with cookware, specialty instant noodles, snacks, and whatever fresh stuff TSA wouldn't confiscate LOL"
"While in the market, we grabbed a few empanadas to heat up for lunch later in the week. OMIGOD - they were delicious! I had the mushroom and the salmon empandas. The mushroom one included cheese and althogether the filing had great seasoning and a nice substantial consistency (I mention this because other empandada places over-index on the cheese thus making it a ooey-gooey runny mess when you eat it.) The salmon empanada was mostly salmon, with great flavor and a little spice - which I just loved. He had the chicken and the beef and enjoyed them both. We'll definitely be grabbing empanadas from the market again!!"
"Evergreen Asian market is my go to spot for coconut water and mama noodles. They also have an amazing deli where you could get Roast duck barbecue or banh mi. Plus they make the best eggrolls on the planet. I shouldn't be telling anybody this because yeah they're that good. They have so many amazing vegetables and if you're looking for anything exotic fruit wise this is a place to come to."
"Surprising to find a Mexican market in the middle of Sumner, but we were very pleased! We purchased a few of their items, and even though the aisles are crazy tight and they could use a bigger space and some organization, the prices were right and they have a lot of selection. We also had their food - the quesadilla was good, the pupusas were actually almost excellent (they didn't give me the tomato sauce) and the tacos were not bad. Did I appreciate the butcher guy staring non-stop? No, but I did appreciate the tasty beans with my quesadilla, so there's that. Plus they're open until 10 on Saturday!"
"We love this place. I'm second generation Hungarian, my wife is first generation Russian. So many delicious things to choose from, a great meat and cheese counter, and all sorts of treats. You can find amazing egg noodles, unrefined sunflower oil, and any place that sells Finnish Lappi cheese (yes, it is a thing) is a great place in my book. The staff is bilingual, friendly, and there are just so many hard to find items from around the world."
"When you enter you are greeted by a HUGE smile, and a very friendly staff. They have a huge variety's Indian foods, and is by far the best store for Indian food I have found. They have fresh and frozen options! It is small and family owned and ran, the family is so nice and all the prices are very fair. So far I have gone once and already want to go back and get more stuff."
"The store is big but seems overpriced. They do not stock on some of the things I like to buy. Cash counter was quick though."
"Really great little Mexican market. So much produce, a great butcher shop with lots of meat & cuts you won't find at many grocery stores in the area (ex. Skirt steak). Plenty of Hispanic canned goods, like GOYA products, I specifically come here for their frozen empanada shells. They also sell some cooked food (get the carnitas ) and have some fresh tortillas / masa if you want to make your own. Love their refried beans, and pickled onions."
"We love Ethiopian food. A lot. When we are feeling creative and non-lazy (not very often), we will visit the Souk for some cooking supplies. The store is small and unassuming. You can drive by it easily. It has a small parking lot (5 spots) that fills and empties rapidly as people dash in for their injera. I have an aversion to entering a place where I cannot see into their windows (covered with music posters, cigarette ads), but our friends at Enat (Ethiopian place a block away) told us this was the place they buy their supplies from. When you're here, you buy their lentils (tiny split red ones, medium orange ones, large yellow ones that I can never get to freaking cook properly despite hours of soaking and crockpot, grrr), spices (chai blend, cinnamon, yellow curry-like, white crumbly thickener, spicy red stuff), and of course injera. A pack holds several large rounds and it's always fresh and warm. How? But they always have it and people are always coming in to buy it for the week. They sell other items like canned tomatoes, honey, cookies, drinks, etc. You will often find local people just chatting with the single cashier. It's really a neighborhood joint and we like that. Plus, they are happy to answer our questions about food. :) Everyone is so nice.Everything is so very cheap here. We've taken to using these spices in our regular cooking too!"
"I don't think this was my favorite Ethiopian restaurant. I def prefer Agelgil on cherry st. I tried the meat platter, but also ordered the cabbage. My biggest complaint was that everything was super dry. The meat was dry and the injera was so dry it was falling apart which made it difficult to eat with. On the plus side, the portions are generous and they used great packaging for Ethiopian delivery."
"This is one of the better ethnical grocery stores in the area. They have hard-to-find Indian, Pakistani, arabic, and latino items. And it's clean and fairly well organized. It's missing a fresh meat counter, and that seems to make it easier to have a clean store. They do have frozen meat. They do some odd things (re-selling Costco eggs, for example). But that is not too surprising. This will be my go to store for hard-to-find ethnic items in the Bothell/Lynwood/Everett area."
