"Can't believe it. So this small French restaurant took the cake in my last visit. Totally exceeded my expectation. A goal hidden gem in Seattle :)"
"What a fun date night! Great show and delicious food!I came for the Noir Thursday 6pm showing with my husband. They checked IDs upon entering and led us to our seat. We were seated along one of the runaways. We showed up around 5:20pm because it was our first time and we were planning on eating dinner there. Everyone was super friendly at the cabaret from our host to the performers, we enjoyed each interaction. Food: + Mac and Cheese gnocchi was so good and very filling! + pork chop - my husband got this and he enjoyed! Pork was nicely cooked and juicy. + gumbo - loved the flavor and the cheesy grits! I had to get a box to take the rest of my plate home because I got full. + pink chai latte - this was the perfect post meal drink that I enjoyed during the last part of the show. Show: Noir was very entertaining! All of the performers did an amazing job! There were 3 parts with 2 intermissions which was nice they split it up so you can order more things in between or take a restroom break. At the end of the show, you can tip the performers. I really appreciate that they do Venmo since I don't carry cash with me that often. Overall a wonderful experience!"
"Grouchy Chef is a unique dining experience. This may not be for everyone as you have seen in other reviews, but the food is outstanding. It is in an odd location, kind of in an industrial park that looks dark at night. There are some great reviews that cover the rules--but one very important one is to show up on time. The chef actually met us in parking lot and gave us the first instructions (about wearing mask and going to table). If you are wondering about the restaurant name, I found out when I sat down and tried to get photo of the place setting--I was yelled at that we should ask permission before any photos--and we did not have it (I was too scared to ask about this later for food photos--in general presentation is fine, but not nothing special). Also, be prepared to pay before the meal and bring cash (it is nice if you can bring exact change, but he has change which he mentioned he had sanitized). The cost is very reasonable and he does not accept tips (although there is a jar you can leave them in that goes to charity). What is amazing is that the chef seems to do everything himself--he cooks food, brings in out, and then buses it. Because of COVID it was not super crowded, so maybe he has help if is busier. The menu offers limited choices--but again, amazing that there are as many choices as there are with just Chef Masumoto. It is a four course meal that started with smoked cream of green pepper soup. I had not tried it before--but very good. Next was a mixed salad plate. This was put together very well, with some nice fruit and cheese. For the main course, I had the steak dish. It was outstanding, with a nice sauce. Everybody liked their meals--they were cooked with great care and remarkably at the perfect temperature.I also loved the dessert--it was a taste of a few different items, each delicious. We had a very good time and had a good meal. Following the rules might not be for everyone, but the food is top-notch."
"Really love the PNW flavor profile ( subtle and unique) and decor. Everything is family style so even the main are big portions to share. We started off with FARINATA. It was really unique, the clams go really well with the crème fraiche. Pair this with 2017 domaine des cognettes gorges muscadet, fr and thank me later!!! Baked goat cheese with honey is also Bomb. They come with not a lot of bread but they give you extra. Pork chop was out lease fav. Not a lot of flavor and just not the best. Pudding is soooooo good and such a nice way to end the night! I would love to come back to just eat FARINATA with some wine again!"
"The family and I had an amazing lunch today at Place Pigalle. We were looking for a lunch spot after perusing Pike Place Market. It just so happened that Place Pigalle was opening for the day when we arrived. The hostess sat us at a table with a view of the harbor. When you're at Place Pigalle it is easy to forget that you're in a major tourist area. The decor and atmosphere take you away to another time. I felt relaxed and comfortable. To start I ordered a Manhattan and the Mrs. ordered a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. As we enjoyed our drinks, we made our food choices. Kiddo and I ordered the Escargot. It was really good. The Mrs. ordered the Liver Pate which was a meal on its own. Kiddo and I both ordered the Saffron Clam Chowder as a main dish. The Saffron gave the chowder a smoky flavor and if you add some pepper like I did, the two spices combine to give the dish a little kick. Kiddo was smart in that she ordered a cup of chowder. I ordered a bowl and believe me, as rich as the chowder is a cup is plenty. The Mrs. ordered the French Onion soup which was really good. She said she'd return to the Place Pigalle just for the French Onion soup. The service we received from Nate was incredible. Our meal was perfectly paced and we didn't feel rushed. Staff's attention to detail was amazing. If there were breadcrumbs on our table, they were immediately cleaned off. I left the table to use the restroom and my soup was held back until I returned to the table. Place Pigalle was a great start to our vacation."
"This is an adorable little spot right on market street! I met a friend here for happy hour, which was a great deal. They have a happy hour menu with a few discounted drinks and you get 50% off the seafood selection on the regular menu!Everything from the ambiance to the service was fantastic! It was not busy since it was a weekday and happy hour is from 4 to 5.For my drink I tried a Negroni, which I wasn't too familiar with and loved it!! I see what all the hype is about haha. For a snack we shared the clams, which were cooked in a mouthwatering broth and served with hearty sliced toast.I would definitely be interested in coming back to try the dinner menu sometime, perhaps for a special occasion!"
"Place is my fav. On this Seattle food trip. It's Japanese and French fusion! I do feel it's more French than Japanese. The overall meal experience is well balanced and not rushed. Every dish I had was amazing! Starter: Cauliflower. The sauce is amazing! The grilled squid, Omgggg so good, squid is crispy outside and tender inside. The mid course - truffle risotto is a must try, I do feel like maybe it is because it's at the end of truffle season, the truffle was not that flavorful. For the main entree, we had the sea halibut, the fried rice is the best part!!! The beef cheeks is my fav!!! It's very tender and the red wine sauce just hits the spot! The dessert is one of my fav, desserts on this trip. I still think about it! Omg the yogurt at the bottom and the foam and Granny Smith apple at the top, it's not sweet, it is just right!! I would def come back here, also their view is amazing! Chef is also super friendly!"
"Date day I was treated to The Bistro San Martin. What an amazing experience and meal! Our waitress was outstanding! We asked for our meal to be spaced out over the evening after we placed our orders and she was spot on! Friendly and very familiar with the menu and gave great suggestions. We started out with the Poke'. It was delicious. Very flavorful and tasty. The caprese salad was next, very refreshing and crisp.Sweet onion soup followed, it was so savory and succulent.Main course was scallops that were seared to perfection served with an amazing risotto. This is a great dinner spot. The food and service are right on point!"
"A neighborhood gem! Finally got to try this Italian spot in the neighborhood - it's small and cute inside with a nice patio for outdoor seating. The staff are super friendly, and it immediately gives off homely small mom and pop vibes. We ordered the caprese as a starter which was solid, but the real stars of the show were the pastas. The gnocchi with chicken was so delicious; the gnocchi were fairly large, but the texture was soft and pillowy. The chicken was also moist and flavorful. The seafood pasta was off menu and came with salmon, mussels, squid, shrimp served in a creamy sauce. That was my favorite, as the sauce was so deep in flavor and the pasta was cooked perfectly. I love this restaurant!! Will definitely come back - support local! It tastes better than the more commercial restaurants, and doesn't come with a wait! And the off menu list is extensive and fun - looking forward to trying all of the ever-changing dishes!"
"I came here with coworkers after a work meetup and it was perfect! I loved the aura and vibes--very cozy. The light was dim and there were candles. A woman was in the corner reading a book by herself. There were people in groups (okay, girls' night!) and on dates too.We ordered a lot of small dishes like the Charcuterie board and Olives Marinees Herbs. The bread was also very good. The service was very nice and quick, and had good recommendations for wine as well. Would be back if I'm ever in Seattle again!"
"Came for a date with my husband and enjoyed a cozy rainy night in an intimate setting. We had a wonderful time! Location: We made reservations for a Sunday night at 6pm online. Located in Pike Place we were seated indoors upstairs side by side where we had a nice view of the ferris wheel at night. Service: We had a very kind gentleman who provided excellent service and was so friendly. Food: - French onion soup - very delicious and great portions. My husband and I shared everything - fois gras - this was our favorite item of the night! So good! - half baguette with butter - very tasty bread- pork tomahawk - we ordered this because it seemed to be highly recommended. It was tasty but overhyped... we've had better at other restaurants. We felt it lacked some elevated flavor but it was nicely cooked and juicy. Potatoes and veggies were a nice addition. - filet mignon steak with blue cheese- the steak was also perfectly cooked. Very tasty and really enjoyed the salad - the fries were ok. - creme brulee - standard dessert but nicely done. Overall, we really enjoyed our meal here!"

Cute little French restaurant near Pike Place! We got seated at the bar on a Saturday night and ordered the poisson du jour (fish of the day). It was beautifully seasoned and so delicious, and the baguette and butter were tasty as well. I love how they gave us homemade caramels with our check, what a nice touch. I'll definitely be coming back!

Absolutely fantastic experience from booking tickets, to our food, to the show, to the amazing talent, and efficient employees. Everything about our date night was perfection. We saw "Noir". Neither of us have been to a burlesque show before so we didn't really know what to expect. We arrived a little early and had already ate dinner at a nearby restaurant so we had dessert and coffee. It was very delicious. We were sat a the railing, which turned out to be the best possible seating. We saw everything on stage and occasionally right in front of us. What a sight! Gorgeous girls and guys with amazing talent. The show was funny, showcased serious talent, fun dance numbers, sexiness, and overall excellent entertainment. The gals were topless but had pasties on and honestly it was very tasteful and not raunchy. The guys butts were exposed at times but it was done in a tasteful and sexy way. This is not a seedy place rather it showcased trained and talented dancers with nice bodies in fun numbers. If you are prude, you probably won't like this place but if you are a fun and easy going person, this is your place. The theater is fantastic and had great ambiance. There really isn't a bad seat in the house. The people next to us ordered food and it looked AMAZING. Next time we will eat there. The prices were on the high end but to be expected at a theater in a major city.We will absolutely be back for the next show.

In an age where authenticity is hard to find, Chef Matsumoto is a true gem. Apart from his masterful display of culinary skills, what I appreciate the most about him is unapologetic attitude. His motto is "what you see and what you get" and he lives by it and I love it. The dinner experience he provides is exceptional and is one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. The quality is top notch and the prices are more than reasonable. He is retiring soon though -- he will be dearly missed! There is none like him!

I don't frequent Fremont, but had a gift card here so made a day of it. I made a reservation online for a Saturday at 12:30pm, which requires a credit card. Though it was unusually hot here in Seattle, a reservation was not at all needed, seems like they get a lot of foot traffic, but it wasn't very busy. We sat outside and I loved the ambience, however leaves from the tree dropped in my food and drink lol. I don't fully understand the menu. Seems to be family style, a La carte? Maybe the menu is a little too bougie for me! I ordered the Gordita with Egg and it was delicious. It was saucy and the herbs and chorizo really added to the taste level. The Sardines on Toast was very rich but full of flavor. My partner ordered a lamb dish (can't remember the name) and didn't enjoy it. It felt like ingredients put together rather than an entree. The curried pickled cauliflower was overpowering. The lamb was cold (intentionally) and the bread was just plain, no sauce provided. The restaurant is in the front of the house while a very cute store is in the back. Lots of cute trinkets for the kitchen, as well as many of the same ingredients they serve on their menu.

Was in Seattle for the night and we had reservations on a Friday evening with my fiancé's family. There is limited seating so we did have to wait for some time to be seated. We had a lovely waitress who made great wine and food recommendations! I ordered the Dungeness Crab Cakes. This dish is large enough for 1-2 people. This may be one of the best crab cakes I have had in a very long time. It had a slightly crunchy outer layer, perfectly seasoned filling, and paired well with the salad. I was not too fond of the bread - a bit hard to chew. As others before me have mentioned, be aware that this is a pricier restaurant. Otherwise, I would recommend giving Place Pigalle a try!

How did it take me so long to finally visit Iconiq? It's been on my Yelp "restaurants to try" collection list for quite some time. A friend and I were able to get a reservation and visit on a recent rainy, windy Seattle evening. The city lights view from the windows was very pretty, but I'd love to see it again on a clear day. We had an early reservation and were the first table sat for the evening. After ordering a beverage and our meals, we were treated to an amuse bouche of mushroom soup that was really tasty. We both started our meals with the truffle egg (delicious). I ordered the scallops with Brussels sprouts and squash pasta and my friend had the iberico pork with polenta. Both were really yummy but I would have appreciated more than two scallops for the price ($34 + 30% tax/tip = $44). We were also disappointed that there was only one white and one red wine available by the glass. They were nice wines but a bit of variety would be good. Service was friendly, the food tasted oh so good, the views were amazing, and street parking was easy to find. I'll definitely be returning for another meal!
Visit Restaurant Page"My go to for a late night bite out. Not only because of the hours, but also because it is absolutely delicious. I love that the specials change often and the food is clearly fresh. Drinks are always a fun pick, so many creative choices and I love the presentation. Open "cabaret-style" seating."
"This was a hopping place right near the water in Kirkland, Carillon point. Nice views. Parking in garage waived for two hours when validated. Everything was delicious. The foie gras was creamy and smooth. Fun place to try with a good menu. Lots of locals there."
"My husband and I have been three times now and always have an amazing meal. The ambience is peaceful and charming. Service is absolutely fanatic - the staff explain things well, are detail oriented, and they offer great recommendations. This is one of our favorite pre fix menu restaurants. It's easy to eat vegetarian or pescatarian here but there are always meat options too. Food light, creatively balanced, and beautifully presented. Wine pairings are better than the cocktails imo but we love trying everything. Enjoy!"
"Despite the Chilly reception, it was a great experience. We had a reservation apparently for the patio, which are table on the street. While the restaurant was 1/2 or more empty, there was no "available" seating inside. Fortunately, a free table was found thankfully as it was 40 degrees that night. The few heaters that worked were unable to make street dining endurable. Food here is spot on preparation and presentation. Interesting cheffy dishes like Sweetbreads and Foi Gras are featured. The crispy sweetbreads were delicious but rich. The pork chop was exquisitely juicy! Hard to go wrong here if you can get past the hostile, and militant reception staff."
"There are not many spots in Seattle with true cute, cozy coffee shop interiors like this one.Double decker, warm lighting, and seasonal decorations.I tried the focaccia ($12) and it was piled with cheese, bacon, and mushrooms and was on a beautiful hearty rosemary sourdough. The staff is so nice too :)"
"This is definitely for special occasion only. I only had been here 2x and both for pastry never dine in. We were in the area so I decided to stop by to see what was available. They didn't have much but this one looks interesting so I got it. Didn't realize it was going to cost me $9+ for it though....The pastry was described as a kouig aman with triple cheese on top and figs inside. It's definitely sweet and savory and it has the flaky layers. Not sure about the pull apart portion but it was good.I had gotten their macarons before for Christmas and they were pretty good as well, also pricy (6 for $40+). Service was decent, at least they were knowledgeable in the items. Overall, a very fancy place and not something I would go frequently"
"Ordered iced latte 16oz and it needed sugar to be added. Wasn't sweet even after adding two packets of sugar. Pretty standard, nothing much fancy. Price comparable to Starbucks. Based on the reviews, their pastries are too sweet so I didn't get any today."
"As a sweet way to begin the year, two of us started the day with coffee and French pastries! This café is located in a residential area almost near the top of the Talus development. There's street parking only, but since the storefront is on a corner, we were able to find a spot pretty easily. They displayed their pastry offerings at a table near the entrance which included both sweet and savory options. An employee immediately welcomed us and graciously took a couple minutes to describe each one. Everything looked perfectly golden brown and flaky. I selected the Kouign-Amann ($7.00) per the employee's recommendation and my companion got the twice-baked almond croissant ($7.00). I also got a 12 oz. Cafe Latte ($4.85), but was disappointed to hear that they don't have decaf coffee. Instead, the barista kindly suggested one shot of espresso rather than the standard two. It didn't give me the jitters, so I was happy about that despite still paying the full price for a weaker latte. The Kouign-Amann was airy and soft on the inside and crisp on the outside. The exterior was brushed lightly with a sugary coating that caramelized in the oven. So good! This pastry was pretty rich, composed of many buttery layers, but I appreciated how it wasn't too sweet. The almond croissant was filled with a delightful almond paste. Both of us enjoyed our breakfast, but the pricing is quite steep so we probably wouldn't become regulars. Our two pastries and two coffees totaled $23 before tax. 3.75 stars."
"Beautiful interior and nice patio for a sunny day. Such unique dishes!Came on a Friday evening with a reservation.Tried: Oysters ($24 for half dozen) - solid oystersSeared Foie Gras ($29) - This was an interesting dish. The cornbread waffle was lovely and the salted caramel ice cream scoop was an interesting addition.Parisienne Gnocchi ($19) - so decadent! Mussels ($19) - Solid, nice curry sauceChicken Liver Mousse ($16) - rich, sweet, amazing.Staff was so polite!"
"Very beautiful shop with French delicacies for reasonable prices! I didn't get any food so my review is for the coffee: super friendly staff that was very quick to make my iced caramel latte and wowwww it was delicious!!!!"
"Had an incredible experience from beginning to end thanks to our incredible server Gabriel who ushered us into great food suggestions as we tried some of Nell's greatest hits: The Steak, Cod, Beet Salad, and Calamari. The Caramel Chocolate dessert to finish it all off with ice cream was exceptional. Thanks again Gabriel!"
"I went here for happy hour to get some meat dishes, as the name of the restaurant suggests (Red Cow). For dinner they are mostly known for steak frites at a premium (starting at $50+) so we decided to get something similar from the happy hour menu - steak brochette, as well as the steak tartare. The steak brochette was requested medium rare though it was more like medium well, but the meat is still juicy and nicely seasoned. It comes with fries that are decent as well as the horseradish cream that was not too strong, so you can use liberally. The steak tartare was okay - the pickles were way too strong and I've had better. Service is good as they refill water regularly and food came out decently quick. We were able to thoroughly enjoy the meal in around 30 minutes, and we didn't rush at all."
"Amuse Bouche was this interesting savory cream puff.Appetizers and Sides:-Steak Tartare ($23) - An extremely well done tartare with a Japanese flavored twist. Loved the addition of Ikura.-Roasted Mushrooms ($16) - A+ on the variety of mushrooms in this dish. Super rich.-Kohlrabi ($15) - Interesting, Tart, extensively dressed.Impressive board of steaks with what looked like 20+ different cute to choose from.Cuts of Steak:Merlot ($48 for 8 oz) and Sirloin Tip Cap ($48 for 8 oz, aged 125 days). You get to pick a finishing butter with each steak, we picked the bone marrow and nori finishing butters. Also Had a few glasses of red wine that paired well with the steak (one was very dusty).Mint Chocolate Meringues to finish.Staff is very knowledgeable. Beautiful, candlelit interior."
"An update: 12 years later, I now have to eat gluten free and dairy free. I was so glad I was able to put together a wonderful meal! My husband and I shared the Calamar Frit as an appetizer, then I had the mussels with French fries. For dessert, I had a chocolate coconut sorbet that was actually creamy! My husband doesn't have food sensitivities, so he had their Steak Frites, and for dessert an Italian dessert with caramel drizzled on top. Everything was very good, but a definite splurge at ~$80 each for the meal."
"What an adorable French bistro in a quiet little neighborhood! My friend and I stopped by after seeing a piano concert nearby and weren't sure they'd seat us so close to closing time (9pm). Thankfully the owner/manager who came to see what we wanted after about 5 minutes of milling about the entrance let us sit in the front room and eventually sent the server over from somewhere else in the restaurant. It wasn't a welcoming start to our experience here and that is where the last star was dropped. Otherwise this place is absolutely adorable and transports you to a Parisian open window somewhere near Montmartre. We had designs of having delicious French desserts and that is exactly what we found here. The bread pudding is an absolute must have. It was probably my favorite bread pudding I've had in the last 5 years. The vanilla anglaise sauce was simply delightful and paired perfectly with the dish. The seasonal sorbet they had was the pineapple sorbet from Olympic Mountain Ice Cream (Shelton, WA), a sorbet you just simply must try. They make all their ice creams and sorbets with the actual ingredients in the name of the flavor so everything tastes real, and is not overly sweet as some sorbets from the store can be. We agreed that we must return for a full meal here sometime as the back patio is also very cute and it seemed like the locals come here and enjoy the space. Parking was easy to find and our server was nice and friendly. The wines we had were also quite good. No doubt we will return!"
"Had a lovely dinner tonight with friends. The atmosphere is so nice. It's a very 'pub like' set up. Yes, I know it's a pub. It's small and quaint. The server tonight was very kind and had a great sense of humor. I have to say the gin and tonic was well made. I have the smoked duck gnocchi- fantastic! Great taste and the mushrooms and duck were delicious. My friends had the risotto which they said was very good. Must have been they ate it all!! I recommend this fine establishment!"
"Really cute, intimate interior. Tables were kind of close together. Large menu with cocktails and wine. French Fare. Very kind, polite service. We got a couple mezcal cocktails ($18 each)Food:Bread & Butter ($6) - nothing specialPate en Croud ($18) - this is such a tough dish to find - i'm happy I got to try it for the first time :) and that they sell it hereCalamari ($18) - small portion but perfectly crispy friedSteak & Frites ($42) - salty and overpriced as steak usually is (personal opinion), but I like the way it was cookedBeautiful Plating. Automatic 20% gratuity added to bill."
"Takeout dinner for 2.FOOD: 4.5. Generous portions.- Créme Brûlée: 5.0. Creamy interior with very thin hard sugar top, with a strawberry. Shared between the 2 of us.- Crab Cake with lobster sauce: 4.5.- Braised Lamb Shank: 3.5. Very good; came off the bone easily. Sauce very lightly-seasoned. - Caesar salad: 4.5.
