Rick L. "My wife and I shopped here for the first time in a few years. We used to shop more often but the last time we were here it wasn't as pleasing an experience as it had been in the past. That changed today. The produce quality was uniformly amazing and the prices were more than fair. We mainly came in to buy some fresh ginger and I found some at better quality and a lower price than at Safeway/Albertson's. But what was really impressive was all the new products from local producers (as well as local products that have been carried for years). We bought a couple of packages of Jalisco Tortilla Factory flour tortillas in a couple of different sizes. Not only are they made in Shelton but all of ingredients--and there are just a few--are all natural. Finding this product answered the question I always have when we buy national brand name tortillas: why do they always have to put so much junk in it? We love finding products that prove you don't have to. AND, my wife found me smoked coarse grind salt from Crimson Cove in Poulsbo. You can't find smoked salt in supermarkets anymore. And to top it off, the cashier was very friendly and thanked us for our business. So, we'll be shopping here more often until they close just before Christmas and reopen next year."

Cynthia L. "Wow, the Farmer's Market in Columbia City has changed a lot. Years ago, in the rare opportunity I was off from work on time on a Wed, the market was only a handful of produce and locally-made cheese booths. Now it takes up almost two blocks! The markets have several of the same businesses representing, whether in West Seattle, Capitol Hill, or Ballard. There's a convenience factor to go to CC because of proximity, but there's also ample parking since the market is off of Rainier and connected to many side streets! That alone is a huge advantage compared to the other Farmer's Markets to me. Inexpensive, organic, local produce. I always walk around first and mentally note which places have the best-looking offerings coupled with price before buying produce. There are bakery booths such as Columbia City Bakery, Honest Biscuit, and D-Floured (gluten-free!) I had a slice of strawberry-pistachio cake and it was really good; a little dry, but with Hayden's strawberries, you can really taste the fruit! There's meats, cheese, jams--all kinds of good stuff: http://www.seattlefarmersmarkets.org/vendors/columbia-city-farmers-market-vendor-list-for-2008My favorite thing I ate was at the food booth, "Tandoozy." A giant piece of charred, delicious naan is covered with lentils, chicken, chutney, rice like a colorful mosaic...it's so beautiful you almost don't want to eat it! Almost. [They] have a port-a-potty at the market, which is great, but I'm bummed that they only have one picnic table for people to eat. If it's sunny, then the grass is fine, but when it's damp...Regardless, check out CC's humble little Farmer's Market--it runs on Wednesdays, May 1 - Oct 16th from 3pm - 7pm!"

They have the Roasted Corn Stand (See seperate review) which I LOVE, tamales (which were good but not great), lots of free samples (and they aren't stingy). They don't have a lot of produce. Prices on produce a bit high. I paid $2.99lb for peaches and they weren't spectacular. They carousel is nearby as is Kent Station - makes for a nice Saturday afternoon outing. And as previously stated, they close at 2pm (which is way to early IMO)."

This Farmer's Market is in the front lot of The Commons Shopping area at the Sears parking lot. You'll see all the white canopies. You can't miss it!I love how this Market has such a wide array of vendors. You'll see 3 - 5 flower vendors. There's also an abundance of vendors selling produce. Nowadays that seems to be far and few between. There are quite a few craft vendors as well as food vendors. I enjoy walking around and checking things out. You'll easily spot their red tent set-up right in front of Beecher's Homemade Cheeses. They offer a handful of organic apple ciders and I tried:* Organic Apple Peach Cider* Organic Raspberry Apple Cider* mix of Peach and Raspberry Apple CidersAll three were delicious in my book: a bit tart, naturally sweet, and super cold! Got some good cherries, peaches and nectarines from the stand closest to the entrance (forgot the name but they're from Yakima and don't use pesticides). Tried the lemonade from Aloha Lemonade, very good but gave me heartburn because it's fresh, hand squeezed lemonade and therefore very acidic. I'm also 40 weeks pregnant so that's probably why. Got two mini pies from the mini pie stand that were pretty good. It was a nice reason to get out of the house and walk around for fifteen minutes, but I'd only come back if I was already at the Landing doing other shopping."

Daren D. "This particular farmers market is probably my favorite of all of the Seattle ones. I've been to just about all of them but so far this one stands out the best for me. Taking an early Friday afternoon off from work, this place was a perfect spot to go for a walk.First of all, it's a charming & rather small corner neighborhood location; not too noisy nor does it feel stuffy from large crowds and/or other sources of sensory overload (nearby busy streets, honking, sirens, playgrounds, etc). Slightly in the shadow of the Phinney Center building, situated on a slight hill incline lends itself a neat character surrounded by nice trees. Don't worry about parking super close - if you get a spot a block or so away, it's a nice walk! Although, I think they have 1-2 temporary spots up front - those are good to at least check if you're handicapped. My main joy came from the amount of local regional organic farms AND their variety! Mixed cauliflower, [seasonal] figs(?!), black/red/white bean varieties (protein & fiber, tho!), plethora of dark, leafy greens & herbs (rich in nutrients - yum!), a creamy(?) red potato (#HCLF!) and other goodies. Shout-outs to The Root Cellar, Farmhouse, Tonnemaker, Stoney Plains and I think maybe 1-2 others I forgot. Wonderful interacting with the farmers, too!Thumbs up, yo!"

This is great if you like to come in for a little stroll and support local producers. Some good variety in produce, Two If By Sea smoked wild salmon is tasty, good baked goods, honeybees and honeys, tomatoes, flowers, food trucks and yummy SEATTLE pops and wood fire pizza. (Spicy pepperoni if u like a little kick) Sometimes nice music, friendly neighborhood vibe, great for kids, easy, not too crowded, a great alternative to the supermarket if going for produce, honey and or fish, pasta or grass fed meats, and eggs. Even if you just go for a stroll, listen to some music and eat at the food trucks and buy nothing to take home, it makes for a nice outside break. For kids the bees making honey in the clear see through contraption is neat. Kids of most ages will enjoy it. Kids can learn about farm to table, dance, have a seattle pop or wood fire pizza, pick out there berry baskets, and often there is something to learn or do at one of the market tables."

This market has a new location and day of operation. Now open June through October, open on Saturdays.I hope for continued success of this venture for the city, really it does help the City of Shoreline establish some kind of personality, the clean up and development of the Aurora corridor has helped a lot as well. I'm glad there seems to be plenty of parking, even with the large number of people attending the opening weekend and of course it is a dog friendly location! One of the vendors I spoke to was pleasently surprised at the turn out, he asked me what kind of advertisment had the City done. I mentioned that the monthly newsletter and great community support has kept this news in the forefront of our area. While the produce vendors were a bit lacking, a chalk board announced that next weekend, 6-23, the full assortment of produce would be available, we'll check it out for sure.As with most Farmer's Markets they accept WIC/SNAP/EBT.For something new to Shoreline, it was a pleasent surprise, job well done!"

Dave E. "Considering the small size of the Port Orchard community, this is a pretty decent little Farmer's Market. Most Saturdays during the season, there are lots of farmers selling veggies, plants, and craft foods (honey, jams, etc.) along with lots of crafting. They rarely have "spam" booths (real estate, dental offices, junk like that). The WSU Kitsap Extension "Master Gardeners" are there every Saturday as well to answer questions about plants you may have in your yard and garden. As the summer progresses, they will also bring in live bands to play in the band stand (with lots of seating to watch). The only down side is for some reason they just never have many food carts. I don't know why. This last Saturday, there was just the "$3 boiled 6-inch hotdog on plain white bun" - that was it. Sure a small hot dog can be OK and all, but it would be nice if the organizers reached out to the "food cart community" to invite a few more choices. But all in all, this is a nice little market. Note that parking is not fun - best to park "out in the town" and walk in if you're able. But just be patient and you'll find a spot."

It's not a huge market, but the range of all the different vendors is what makes this place five stars. There were food trucks, food stands, artisan foods, craft shops, etc... The market has such a good amount of diverse foods and shops, which is what makes me a fan. If you're in search of food - I recommend taking a loop before buying anything because everything looks so yummy, from Indian food to rolled up ice cream to cold brew coffee to lumpia, there is a lot to offer here at the SLU Saturday Market. I love seeing many different local artists selling their goods here. There's also some tables and chairs set-up for people to use when eating and relaxing, as well as an informational booth. I've come to expect long sprawling markets with huge vendors; in the Seattle neighborhoods as well as where I came from in Madison (where the market went around the capitol building). But by comparison the Magnolia Farmer's Market is diminutive. It's set up in a parking lot and is approximately 10-12 stalls. Compared to the other neighborhood markets, there's more of a focus on produce as opposed to crafts. There wasn't a huge number of people at the market (although a high number of petitioneers) and it made walking around fairly easy. Although there's a fair number of signs directing you, it's a little hard to spot if you're not looking for it. They have lines/tape around all over so you can't just enter. You do have to walk all the way to 5th and something for an entry. Which also include a huge line, a very unnecessary loud teenage band playing ( tone deaf loud) next to all the restaurants/their outdoor seats. You cant social distance even if you try. All I wanted was some fresh flowers for the cemetery and we ended up walking the whole market twice from outside trying to find an entrance. They do have a different entrance where they turn everyone away in the scorching hot heat! And last but not least: No dogs allowed? What? Isn't that the whole point of farmers market? Family/dog friendly? Baci got his socializatio in as a tiny pupper from Ballard market. It's like a puppy parade every time you go there. We ended up skipping because of this!! I did see 2 old ladies left their dog outside, next to the loud as hell band so they can walk the market for something. We watched the sad pup the whole time till they return! Really though. No flowers/spices are worth leaving your beloved old dog behind Overall, the least fun farmers market ever!! if it werent for random facemask, you wouldnt even know there was covid. Hot! "On our second and last day in Seattle, we headed to Capitol Hill where we knew we would find the hipsters congregating on a Sunday because it's that kind of edgy urban neighborhood with a strong LGBT flavor. It was wet with unrelenting rain, which was certainly no surprise, but we weren't aware there was a farmers market there every Sunday rain or shine. Sure, it was no Pike Place Market (review: http://bit.ly/2rvMSFw), but there weren't major crowds to deal with either. It will remind you of any smaller congregation of farmers, meat purveyors, and artisanal food vendors that you would find in most major cities and many small towns. They are lined up on the diagonal brick sidewalk on Broadway starting at East Pine Street where Seattle Central College is.Near that corner is a small open space where there' an opportunity to try some of the unique food offerings like Miri's Proffertjes which are mini-Dutch pancakes (photo: http://bit.ly/2rM57Wr) or the Asian-style bites from Brothers & Co.
