"One of my favorite dive bars in Seattle. The drinks are cheap and the service is quick. In addition to it being your classic grungy dive bar, the inside is decorated with quirky antiques and collectibles - lots of stuff to look at it if you're sitting at the bar. Never crowded but always a good time!"
"First time going to this bar was right after it opened during the pandemic. Went on a night they had Karaoke and it was loud as heck! Some of the songs and singers were enjoyable, though. A couple of our friends were dancing and singing along, having a good ol' time!Service was actually great. The waitress for our table was pretty attentive and friendly. Got our drink and food orders in a timely manner. It was just so hot since the A/C wasn't working or something that day/night. The fans were not working that well and it was super crowded. All of the tables were full, bar area was packed and temperature kept rising because there were so many people inside. We mainly went because our friends invited us out..."
""Pop!" That is the noise that greeted me upon making an entrance into the Pioneer Square Saloon. Anticipating a Western saloon experience, I mistook the "Pop!" for a cap gun. If I didn't need a beer already, I needed one now. Near the back of the bar, I spotted an unoccupied bar stool. The first thing the bar tender asks me is "Are you going to blow up baloons?" I felt more like a guest visiting the Adam's Family than a bar patron. "I'll have a PBR draft," I responded (the draft beer that I preferred here). When I looked around I saw balloons toward the end of the bar and covering a table. When I started to get comfortable here, I realized that the balloons caused the "Pop!" For whatever reason, a part of the Pioneer Saloon experience is blowing up a balloon and placing it on a tiny bulb. Frequently one will "Pop!" Wanting nothing to do with balloons, I relocated to the center of the bar when a bar stool became available. The Pioneer Square Saloon reminded me of a saloon in Haight Ashbury. The bar is dotted with humorous stickers. As I drank my first PBR I entertained myself reading this stuff. A few of the sayings were "Roll a fat one today." "Stoned chicks rule." "Cavemen are people too." "Get hazed." After the first PBR, I grew bored sitting inside. I'd drink the second PBR on the porch overlooking Yesler Way, a prime thoroughfare through Pioneer Square. It was the idea of hanging out at a bar in Pioneer Square that brought me here. I appreciate the historic architecture that constitutes the district. Pioneer Square Saloon is in a historic building where Pioneer Square joins the Seattle Waterfront. On the porch I'd people watch and spot the occasional Duck sightseeing vehicle pass by. Contrary to rumor, water balloons were not tossed at the Duck. After getting fresh air, I'd drink my third PBR in the two smaller rooms adjacent to the bar and porch. Historic buildings never fail to feature charming interiors. Regardless that the smaller rooms were sparsely furnished, they were quiet places to appreciate the charm of being in a historic building. What stood out was an antiquated hockey table. Where the rooms were charming the bar tender was alright. Before Happy Hour began, he charged me Happy Hour prices. And when I finished a PBR he'd have another one for me. After more than enough PBRs for one day, it was time to move on. Pioneer Square Saloon, is without doubt an unconventional establishment. If you are in downtown Seattle, I'd recommend stopping by for even one beer to experience this place for yourself. Chances are you will probably never forget it."
"In the past six years I have passed Lucky Liquor on my way to work and would glance at it filled with uncertainty. Then one day I decided to go and since I have been back several times. It is a small dive bar and it is very much a dive bar but in the best of fantastic ways. It is the bar that you go to without any judgement, where people greet you enthusiatically, and the decor is fun and unpretentious. The lighting is low, the music can be loud, they show films from time to time, and there are pinball machines along the wall. It is comfortable. The drinks were super good - stiff without feeling too slap across the face stiff - and the food is great - simple, fun, great bar food. The bartenders here have always been very friendly and accommodating. If it isn't too busy they'll step out from behind the bar to offer a refill. If it is busy then it is understandable that they aren't able to do that as frequently. The crowd is fun. I'm not sure about its status. I don't know if it is hanging by a thread or just choosing to remain a little beat down to keep the ambiance. I know, though, that it is fun, friendly, with good people and great drinks."
"TUESDAY $7.50 STEAK NIGHT!!! Try the House Sauce it's amazing!!! Rozy was the cook, and our bartender (she works Tuesday until 6:00 p.m. & Saturday nights so get there Saturday for a $1 burger), she can cook a mean steak, exactly they way we like it, melted in our mouths. When we arrived the place was packed and we thought, "oh man we are going to wait forever," but NOPE.I've been to many dive bars in my life, and also worked at one one and Rozy is one of the fastest, most attentive and best bartenders I've ever seen. She's courteous, cheerful, and efficient unlike other bartenders that cuss like a sailor when the owner isn't there, and slack, roll their eyes, and get upset when we order something. When shift change happened, I noticed the night bartender (replacing Rozy), put all the food on the plate and the steaks were bleeding into the salad, and potatoes. GROSS. Rozy served the salad first, in a bowl while we waited for our steaks. Get there early so she serves you :)We also noticed that when Rozy was off work, the bar cleared out lolFIVE STARS for THIS BAR!!! TEN STARS for Rozy!"
"Dive time at streamline! Came here on a Packed Saturday night for some drinks and I remarked to the doorman that it looked like New Years in here.He got a good chuckle out and was real mellow which for me seems to be a good sign of a place. Right off the bat I was surprised how cheap the drinks are here. Surprised at how awesome it is. I got the first round for me and a friend and it was only $15! These were mixed drinks too, I'm used to paying that much for just 1 not 2! Following that, they were pretty good too, considering how mobbed the barkeep was.Again this place is DIVEY - drabby, low lit, old and shabby looking furniture and just looks overall worn, save for the stickers and such plastered all over as if to help hide it. Even the sign outside looks it would be at some roadside stop. I had some wings which were pretty good. Some were fat and saucy.Chatted up some of characters who let's just say they were at the end of their streamlines and fit right into to the atmosphere. One of whom looked like Tommy Wiseau. Maybe it was him? Fun spot. Would go back for the drinks for sure."
"It's my first time in a dive bar in Federal Way. The only reason why I ended up here is this place is historical and it might get shut down if the owner finds a decent buyer (it used to be a dance hall back in the days). There's not much to expect when you get in because it's really a dive bar. However, the company you get from strangers makes it feel like you're really in a small town. You might have to sit elbow to elbow with polite locals. The service is impeccable. The bartender made sure everyone is taken care of. She's super efficient and very friendly. We went during happy hour and I was surprised our tab was pretty cheap for a bottle of beer and glass of wine. The drawback is still the place itself. Bathrooms stalls are tiny. I guess it deters anyone from over drinking or you might just get flushed in the toilet."
"We had to play at Pied Piper for our dart league - I've seen this bar a few times, but it's always seemed a little sketchy to me. I'm glad to report that is indeed not sketchy and is actually a lot bigger than it appears from the outside! There's a main front area with traditional bar seating and access to the bartenders, but if you go towards the back there's tons more seating and five or six dart boards lined up. It was pretty good sized (in my opinion) and the bartender we had for the night was super nice.Try the cheesy bacon tater tots... They're amazing! Only downfall as far as their menu goes is that they don't offer Blue Moon. :("
"Came here with some co workers on a Friday evening. Drinks were priced fairly and the food was great. I ordered the chicken tenders/fries and it was pretty good. They have fun games like a few pool tables and TVS. I appreciate that you can bring your dog in here and hangout with them. Parking wasn't too terrible to find around 5:50 PM ish. The bartender was super nice and helpful when I couldn't get the Juke box working."
"Dive bar in Coupeville right next to the water. It's a 21+ establishment and they check IDs as soon as you walk through the doors. No outdoor/patio seating, so leave the dogs back home. We got seated right away, right next to a window. This was a Tuesday in February at like 2pm so the slower season, I'm sure. The service was great. The girl was very friendly and nice-- gave us the rundown of the specials and what they're known for when she asked if we have been here before. They're known for the Penn Cove mussels and fish and chips, so of course we got that. Food came at a reasonable pace. The mussels were so fresh tasting and the fish and chips were nicely battered. Their sauce were amazing, it tasted like they put pickles in their ketchup. We got their microbeer (boyfriend thought it was pretty good and a Greenbank cider (that one was okay)."
"One of our go to joints in the area. I'm not enthusiastic about the Coug fandom, but what are you gonna do."

Bad drinks( this would be the reason you go to a dive right ?) , bad service. If you are not a regular don't bother showing. Also don't bother trying to pay more for anything extra. You can't customize anything even something simple like adding a hamburger patty.

I moved to Auburn from living up north and didn't really know anything around. My boyfriend and I decided to go to Spunky Monkey one night to see what it was about. I can honestly say I haven't had that much fun at a bar in awhile. Matt the bartender is literally amazing and is the only reason why we came back for a 2nd time and will continue to be back. When I didn't know what I wanted to drink I left it up to him and omg he has never let me down. Matt makes the most amazing drinks, he tends to every patron to make sure everyone is taking care of. He is the reason my boyfriend and I will continue to come back!! If you haven't been I would HIGHLY recommend coming out! After 9pm it's Karaoke night! Also their food is pretty amazing too.

Situated on the outskirts of Pioneer Square, this feels like a great getaway on any given night from the more hubbub of central Pi Sq: The soft-hued ceiling lighting and contrast of light & dark. And stickers.Just searching for some grub and drink before bedtime, I meandered over here one night. Sadly, they didn't have food (I saw chips on a rack, but no "meal" stuff), but I decided to stay for a beer. Unsure of what I wanted, I asked if they had anything good dark or similar to an oatmeal stout. They declined the oatmeal but suggested something similar - which I can't believe I forgot - because it was nice! That brew was pleasantly smooth going down and I really enjoyed it. Perhaps one of the few beers I really like so far. The bartender was cool.

The quintessential local dive bar!!! Friendly staff, friendly patrons, epic dive bar environment, great drinks and epic food!! The Lucky Burger is delicious, bacon, onion rings, Swiss cheese, tasty perfectly cooked burger and the bbq sauce is tangy and delicious!! The onion rings are absolutely perfect. I will become a regular here. It's that great!!

Prior to the Kraken game, we were looking for somewhere to pregame. We love dive bars and Streamline is pretty close to Climate Pledge, so we headed here! You walk in and definitely can see it's a dive. Dark, chalk writing on the ceilings, and people at the bar who are clearly regulars. My type of place. They even have a cool little game room area!Prices are a little more expensive than what's listed in their Yelp pictures, but not too bad. Maybe $2-$4 more on most things (which is to be expected with inflation). We were pretty excited to try the food, but the bartender let us know they were only doing deep fried foods to make sure they didn't get behind with an influx of people coming in from the game. He wasn't very nice about relaying that message but we understood - although we were confused, because they didn't get busy at all even up to an hour before the game. That said, we ordered a plethora of fried foods to still snack on something and support. We got chicken strips, fries, tots, mozzarella sticks, and jalapeno poppers. Way too much food for two people, but we tried. The standout for me was definitely the jalapeno poppers! They were so good. The chicken strips were also good, but... It's chicken strips.I think it's worth noting the experience is a little different if you're going on a game day - so just be prepared for that! Overall, I'd return for the atmosphere and to try some stuff off of their regular menu (was really excited for that dang Seattle Dog).

My wife and I can here for the first time. She had a beer and I had a 7UP (medical reasons). The place was very friendly. We will come here again.
Visit Restaurant Page"I am partial to dive bars so Soundview is where a group of us found ourselves for lunch.Free street parking can be found. Credit cards are accepted.Being a dive bar, expect zero frills. Expect blunt customer care. Expect territorial yet friendly regulars. Expect foul language. Expect cheap beer and food. There is no wait service. Drink and food orders are placed at the counter. Water is self-serve from the counter.Soundview offers pull tabs, pool tables, TV's, vending machines dispensing snack and smokes and a large outdoor seating area.Patrons ranged from young (21) to elderly. I was surprised at how busy Soundview was on a Saturday afternoon during the lunch hour. Pints of craft draft beer were $4. Cheap, cold and refreshing. My wife and I shared the Bacon Cheeseburger (single) for $7.75. We chose tater tots as our side. Our burger was everything we expected it to be: greasy, fully loaded, hot and absolutely delicious. Paired perfectly with our ice cold beers.Overall, Soundview is not for people who expect to be coddled or pampered. Soundview is for people who are laid-back and who can find fun and good times in their surroundings. My kind of place."
"I've been to Pony a couple times in the past, but it was pre-Covid. Came here recently as the last stop on a bar crawl to celebrate my cousin's 21st. Staff here is always really nice. I'll say the bartender working the night I went was REALLY nice, because I couldn't find my mask.... Only for him to inform me that it was hanging off my ear... LOL. Yikes. He was really kind about it, thankfully.Music selection here is amazing and the crowd is kind and keeps to themselves. We had a great time hanging out, dancing, and having a few drinks before turning in the for the night. Prices are great.Highly recommend if you're looking for a fun atmosphere on the hill!"
"If you love a good dive bar as much as I do, you will love Star Bar. The inside isn't big, but it's pretty spacious. Lisa makes you feel like you've been coming there for years. She will have you laughing before she even finishes taking your drink order. Most of the food was really good, from the burgers to the fried cheese sticks, everything was delicious. The nachos are a little unimpressive, they are about what you could make at home, but the drinks are mixed fat better than I can! Come for the food, stay for the ski ball tournaments! This place is fun all the way around!"
"Very cute little bar! I came across this by accident. I was just doing alittle exploring up that way and bam I ran right into it. The inside was cute and clean. Bartender was nice! This was one of the places I could find one of my favorite Vodkas Huckleberry!!!! It's amazing if you haven't tried it yet! Any who. I was happy to see the bartender made a great drink. She was pleasant. I just had one but I would love to come in and relax and check out the scene! I'll be back! ( in my Arnold voice)"
"Great place to stop by if you're around the area. I was at the Ballard Lock and after me and my friend came here for lunch. Found out this place is awesome. Cozy, vibing, and dive bar style. I looked at the menu and wow the food here is great and generous price for what the economy is nowadays. Mostly everything is still under $10! You can't beat that. I will support this local Tavern fosho! Overall, definitely will be back here!"
"I mean what is there not to love about a local "dive" bar? The drinks are great and super affordable. The bartenders are friendly too. I've been here a few times and each time I have always had a great time with friends. There are regulars who come, sometimers and every once in whilers and always someone's first time - but everyone here is friendly and welcoming. You won't find a pretentious crowd here. True local people who are out singing karaoke and having a few drinks. The drinks are delicious and are poured very well. They serve food here and is always hot and fresh!"
"A solid neighborhood breakfast diner spot in Ballard! If you are not wanting to pay $15 for your waffles or pancakes, then you've come to the right place. I came in with some good friends, and I ended up getting the Ballard Smoke House Breakfast, with scrambled eggs, 2 pancakes and bacon. It was a pretty typical and filling breakfast, so nothing to complain about here. They also kept the coffee coming, and service was good. I'd definitely come back. The space is pretty large, and they have a bar next door as well. We had no problem getting a seat. Definitely worth a try if you're in the Ballard area."
"In the 7.5 years since I left my last review, things have changed at Shorty's. First of all, they moved. Just a block away, but to a slightly more spacious and less weirdly laid out venue. Second of all, pinball prices dropped. They run about 75 cents a game, with some machines offering quantity discounts (e.g., 5 games for the price of 4). Third, the food and drink are much better, with a variety of dogs being the staple, any of which can be had with veggie dogs. My girlfriend preferred the Chicago Style; I'm partial to the Spicy Pepper. Small selection of draft beers, but an ample supply of mixed drinks, many much cheaper than surrounding venues. I've been to Shorty's more times this year than I have in the past decade. Sure it's a dive bar still, but it's a comfier hang than before, with better food and cheaper pinball."
"Stiff pours. Cold pints. Delicious food. Friendly staff. Could you ask for anything else? How about a 24 hour market next? Yup that's a thing. So you can get a six pack to go or some munchies to soak up the alcohol in your stomach. It's definitely got a divey feeling in the lounge. But in a classy kind of way."
"Free pool all day on Mondays and Thursdays. Large lot outside for parking. 5 pool tables with an assortment of arcade games. STOKED they have skeeball and you can track multiple player scores. Cheap drinks and surprisingly good bar food! LOVE that the fries are seasoned with Johnnys seasoning. There's an electric jukebox that you can pick your own music. Major fan of whoever was playing country all night. This place has a lot of character, so don't judge the book by its cover. One hell of a hidden gem!"
"This is the place my mom and all her friends would go to to grab a drink and hang out 30 years ago...seems crazy that this dive is still around. It's not a place to go to dance, or get dressed up, or go with too big of a group....but it IS the place to go if you want stiff drinks, hang outside, and shoot the it.3 or 4 drinks in that place is like 6 or 8 somewhere else....so you have to be careful. They have a pool table, horse shoes, a nice area to hang out outside, a juke box for music (just hope someone didn't load it up with music that sucks), they have trivia nights, pool tournaments, etc. If it wasn't for the nostalgia, and the fact it's within walking distance of my girlfriend's place....I wouldn't necessarily make it a destination as far as bars. But if you're in the neighborhood....drop in and have a drink out on the patio!"
"This is the best bar ever. They are friendly, amicable, and helpful. Greta drinks and food"
"This is a hidden gem - I say hidden because every times I've been here, it hasn't been overpacked like every other Seattle bar I've been to. It's got a great casual vibe and the bartenders are so awesome - they're the type that remember your order and are attentive to everyone even though they're always running around busy doing something. Tuesday BINGO - This is what I LOVE coming to!! At 8 PM, they have Bingo for all - free to play, multiple around PRIZES (which range from $25 GC to Pringles!!!) I love how fun Kevin makes it - I feel like Bingo can be hard to host and to make entertaining but Kevin always makes it fun and enjoyable. He keeps everyone engaged and keeps things moving - never a down time except for break time. This is definitely not your grandmother's bingo! And is there ever a tie in Bingo? NO!Wednesday Trivia - They also have trivia on Wednesdays at 7 and April does a great job hosting that too. Again, free to play, 6 on a team, and prizes!! I love that Targy's has all these super fun events and free for everyone to enjoy. I mean, Tuesdays are slow night so what better way to spend it than to play Bingo and drink! So much fun, can always find street parking. The food is lacking here - boxed pizza, frozen pizza bites, frozen pretzels, etc. However, they allow you to bring food in and just enjoy their drinks. How awesome is that??"
"My friend lives nearby so we come here fairly often. Its very small and has a very neighborhoody feel to it. I think most of the people who come here are regulars. I've driven by this place a million times and never stopped in until my friend started coming here. It's only just recently that I realized they have their own tiny parking lot off to the side. There is a pool table and some darts inside, some nights they have karaoke. We usually end up sitting at the bar where we get incredible service with frequent water fill ups. Bartenders are always helpful and make sure drinks are served in a timely manner. I hear they have food but I never see it. If you like small, unfancy places this is worth checking out, especially if you live in the area."
"Don't judge a book by it's cover. Drinks are strong, food is bomb. Open late, very nice & attentive waiters/waitresses. Food portions are HUGE. Drinks are reasonably priced. Do I need to say more? Give this place a visit!"
"this is my waterhole and I love it. The two bartenders are amazing - be nice to them and they are nice back. be rude and you'll get what you asked for. even security is nice as well. my favorite thing about this spot beyond the good drinks and pool table/darts is the crowd is perfectly eclectic. There's young and old people alike, grungy folks and well dressed folks, from punk styles to athletic style folks to casual weekenders and party folks. This range of ages and styles also reflects in the music as well. Pair all of that with some great company and free popcorn - you can't really ask for more! Also most of the patrons seem to be regulars as I see a lot of the same faces and even befriended a few - it's got that small town bar feel which i love much. Usually come here once a week and will continue to do so!"
"Cool little venue in Fremont area where I ended up taking my boyfriend for a night of Northwest cover bands of Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, and Soundgarden. Sound was excellent and stage set up was awesome. I know the band appreciates the fans lined up next to their monitors. It was getting steamy in here once it was a full house. Drinks were cold, plentiful, and a little pricey but I wasn't complaining. Lots of good draft beers and tall boys for you to have as you watch the band. Closer to the front entrance you will find table tops and booth seating that may or may not be reserved depending on who is playing. I do appreciate that these bartenders can read lips because once that music gets going it's impossible to hear anything."
"Not much to say but service was exceptional! Haven't been here in years and I can't tell if this place expanded or I just forgot. Our server was great! My friend and I was just catching up. Drinks were good and so was food. Will be back when I can!!"
"Our visit to Seattle Beer Co came after a long day at Pike Place Market. We were in need of beers, and this place magically appeared. We headed upstairs to order and got a table downstairs looking out on the market. They also had a few outdoor tables. The bartenders upstairs were so incredibly nice. I wish I'd gotten their names. I loved the dozens of local beers they had on tap. I had a dreamsicle beer, and it really tasted like an old-school dreamsicle. I also had a Sour. Both beers were excellent. The drafts were also relatively inexpensive based on Seattle standards. It's definitely a place I would return to. If you are walking around Pike Place Market for an extended period of time and need some hydration, this is the place to go"
"It's a dive bar, as you probably suspected when walking by Central Tavern. Located in downtown Kirkland, behind these closed doors is a dark room with red lighting and a funky odor. Thus, I bring you Central Tavern. It's definitely a locals hang out. We visited Central Tavern after a wine tasting event and the place was alright. After ordering a local IPA on tap, we sat at one of the tables and the place quickly filled with peeps who seems to frequent this spot. We visited on a hot day, so the place was extra muggy because the AC was broken. And the mugginess brought on an odor, mixed with people sweating, so yeah, it was one of those instances. Central Tavern isn't a bad spot though, if you forget about the broken AC issue. For a dive bar though, people didn't seem as chummy like at other dive bars I've visited. A little standoffish, I must say, which was surprising. Not the most fun place in Kirkland for drinks, but it'll be cheaper than most spots around. They have darts and pool tables."
"I thought it was okay. Its the classic dive bar and it was in the hood, so we sauntered on over. Grabbed a big old beer and sat in the back room all by our lonesome. Not much for amenities but the beer was cold. We were grabbing dinner somewhere else so we didn't get to try any food. Its a place to get your beer on and say hello to the locals."
"We started at the Merchants Café and saw that the underground was open! I usually come by and the underground is roped off so this was my chance!I am guessing I should review the Café as well separately so more on that later. When I walked down and saw the heaters going and the intimate group of great people at the bar talking, it was immediately the atmosphere I was looking for, for my current group of people I had brought over. It was a nice dark place with many theme like saloon doors, lanterns, and other decorations pertaining to the time of year we were in.The bar tender was very attentive and alert as well as helpful and friendly. The little nook they had at the bar made the saloon feel very intimate and the seating area outside of that welcomed groups to congregate personally in its womb.I wondered what the underground history was like back in the day. False windows now hang in the holes of one wall while original brick work surrounded us.The drinks were fairly priced for a Friday night and made well. Thanks for the nice experience!"
"Decades ago, I used to come here more regularly, and it's still the same ol' Zoo. It warms my heart to see a new generation of young people wasting their time together on a Thursday evening."
