"It's been awhile since my last visit to Chocolat Vitale and obviously it was pre-Yelp. Stopped in with The Homie yesterday afternoon (11/11/17) and of course, forgot to officially check-in! Wow the retail space had transformed with additional seating and retail focal points interspersed! Lovely layout with lots of natural light from the large windows. Got some of their signature drinking chocolate (10 ounces $19, 20% off through 11/12/17!) and some Cluizel chocolates: 4 chocolate coated orange peel ($1 for a pair), 2 with gianduja, and 2 The Homie picked where the latter two types were $2 each.I enjoy the retail sites like Fran's, Chocolopolis, Chocolati, Theo's, Intrigue, and Chocolat Vitale. Ironic that I'm posting during the Chocolate Festival weekend in Seattle. Yes, Halloween just passed with all those bite sized goodies. But if one wants to indulge and savor delicious, high quality chocolate and support an indie shop with personable customer service (especially from Janet Eicher), be sure to stop Chocolat Vitale!"
"WOW. Had their 58% Madagascar bar today. First bite has a clean snap, then it tastes like caramel, coffee, then fruity at the end. What sorcery is this? Best chocolate I've had in my life. Ate the bar too fast, now I need to buy another."
"Turns out Fortunato Chocolate has been in business for 15 years selling exquisite Peruvian chocolate to restaurant wholesale accounts. They pivoted to include retail and online access since the pandemic. I had not heard of them until seeing them featured on KING5 Evening two days ago. So late this foggy morning I headed from Shoreline to a non-descript building off a main arterial in Issaquah...a long drive but easy peasy using Google GPS and travelling during off peak hours (1/27/22). Oh darn, I coincidentally just finished my last bar of dark chocolate. Yeah twist my arm when it comes to rare sources of chocolate, lol.First thing upon entering is that scent of chocolate and the retail area. Various items available to sample, for purchase, and of course, say yes to the kind offer of free hot chocolate with marshmallows! There is also active production from cacao bean to bar going on, seeing staff members busy at work. I can tell there is a huge market for their product after seeing the boxes all wrapped and palletized ready for shipment. Definitely check out their website, www.fortunatochocolate.com for additional detailed information about their company, product line, and recipes.Full disclosure as a former assistant pastry chef, one featured recipe, please they are called macaRONs, not macaROONs. Sorry, I digress with this PSA.I had a pleasant convo with one of the owners, Adam, while onsite. Very welcoming and personable. But more folks were stopping in, so I kept my convo brief.I did purchase a 500 gram bar of their Fortunato Number 4, 68% dark chocolate ($20) and an 8 ounce bag of Javier's Hot Chocolate Mix ($10). I am sipping this delicious sample as I am writing this post.Detour off Exit 17 on I-90 East while in Issaquah, and support a family run, single origin chocolate company. Delicious!"
"Funny story - back in the day my sister used to live in the apartment above Amy's shop. The smell of fresh made truffles, caramels and fudge constantly made it's way upstairs and we've been frequenting Amy's wonderful shop ever since. She offers gourmet caramel apples, individual truffles, brittle, barks and turtles by the pound, chocolate covered strawberries and locally sourced seasonal caramel popcorn during the summer months. Parking can be tricky on a unique small corner but Amy is always in the shop happy to greet and assist customers. They do offer a few small tables inside but I'm usually in and out with my box full of goodies which have 100% become tradition for holidays and special occasions."
"I spent like 30 minutes in their candy store. I did sample fudge and bought fudge. They have so much candy. The fudge was delicious. They also have specialty chocolates. They also sell Seattle chocolate. The price is about right for a shop like this. I bought three different types of fudge for $14. The staff was friendly and patient. Do check out their sales rack. You can find good treasures"
"ROYCE' Chocolate is the best chocolate in the world (yes I know that is a bold statement and yes I stand by that). If you ever visit Japan, this is one of those food items you must purchase and bring back home for family/ friends (and for yourself). It is hard for me to describe their chocolate (I am just talking about their chocolates, not their snacks), but it is creamy and smooth that melts in your mouth. The flavors of their chocolate is just the right balance that you can savor even after you finished a piece of it. With such an experience (every time I have their chocolate), I purchase Royce' chocolate regularly back at home. But because I was shopping at Uwajimaya (which is inside the market), I decided to check them out, thinking it would be nice for me to pick up a box of my favorite chocolates for a friend that we will be visiting in the next few days. When my husband and I entered the store (with our shopping card and grocery items, lol) we were greeted by a friendly sales associate. He asked us if we would like a sample of one of their featured chocolates. We both got a real tiny piece (I have had samples at other Royce Chocolate stores and their samples are significantly larger). Then I was told about the current holiday specials that they had (a few of their holiday specials were on their assorted cookies/ chocolates, etc). I wasn't too sure if my friend would like those items and decided it was best to purchase her a box of my favorite Royce Chocolate, which is from their Nama chocolate collection. I ended up purchasing:Nama Chocolate "Rémy Martin", $21.99- I have not tried this particular flavor before but was told by the sales associate that this has a higher amount of alcohol (double the amount) used, then compared to their other chocolates. I was thinking this would be a nice gift for my friend. Nama Chocolate "Matcha", $19.98- I decided to also pick up myself a box too since I was already here (lol, why not). I have not tried their matcha flavor and so I picked this. But I decided that I would bring both this flavor and the other flavor to my friend's house and let her try both (to introduce her to the world of this beautifully made chocolate) and let her decide which flavor she would prefer (and then this way I can also try both flavors, lol). ------------------------- (Total= $41.98)Initially (before I had decided to let my friend try both flavors), the sales associate helping me wrapped one of the boxes up for me and placed the chocolate in a cute special red bag (complementary wrapping). After I paid for my purchase, I asked the sales associate if he could validate my parking. Please note that if you have never been to Uwajimaya, parking is not free. Parking cost $7.50 for the first hour, $15 for 2-3 hours and then $22 for 3 hours. However, if you make a purchase of $10 (whether it be at the market or any of the businesses in the market), you get the first hour for free (with validation) and a purchase of $20 will get you up to 2 hours for free (with validation). If I lived in the area, I would most likely be a regular (as I am a regular at some of the Royce Chocolate stores back at home)."
"Hidden gem in Post Aly. Near by the Pink door. We discovered it while waiting for a table at the Pink door. Mesmerized by the chocolate and fudge options there. The lady, assume she's the owner of the shop, greeted us. Offered some samples - that itself blew us away. We ended up buying a few fresh fudges. Delicious and sweet. Loved it. Yum! If you are around Pike pl, must try this place! Recommended."
"Coffee/chocolate hangout in front, event space in back, I haven't seen/heard anything else like this in Seattle. Come take a break here vs. a big coffee chain where they also have hot chocolate - actual melted chocolate from around the world - and others to nibble, that's what I come in for as I don't do coffee.I've come in here and received a tour of their event space they have in the back for consideration of renting it out for a non-profit holiday party. It's a large room that holds up to 25 round tables or 299 people theatre style. They had a grand piano for rent, with a full kitchen and external catering was allowed and AV. It's an alternative small space for a company gathering or even a wedding on a budget. They also have a small conference room, for a lack of a better word, that holds up to 16 people that is available through reservations.Kakao is not open Saturdays-Sundays as they use those days for the events. They may also be closed during the week, as I've stumbled upon this a couple times, for an event. Parking stinks in SLU as a whole. There are a couple designated spots by the entrance."
"This is a little spot tucked away inside Pike Place Market. There's a couple of tables, a couple of bar stools at the order counter, and several stools along the window. Spoiler: the window stools offer a great view. There's a couple of different flights you can taste, as well as several individual wines. They also offer a small menu of snacks. My friend and I both got the flights of white wine and shared a couple of cheeses with crackers. For the flights, each glass is poured after you finish the previous one. We completely loved the roussanne one! (So much so we came back again the next day for more.)We had a lovely time here and really enjoyed relaxing, going at a leisurely pace, and sampling the wines (all were great). Definitely recommend a stop here!"
"Social Distancing Edition ReviewIn this time of uncertainty, there are a few standbys that can help you feel just a little bit better. A strong cup of coffee, cake, a glass of wine, and dare I forget, a solid bag of sweets. So what can you do to accomplish that? Well, you can risk your life and limb at the local grocery store... OR... you can call Randy at Sweet Mickey's and either get home deliver if you are near by, or schedule time with him to get a wonderful "Social Distanced" approved personal schooling opportunity. What lies at in his shop is none other that beautifully hand made fudge, without any of the corn syrups, and bins of candy that fill the mind and soul. Don't worry about touching anything, with the exception of the front door, you are in a no-contact purchasing experience. Cash is king, but if you prefer, he'll take the tap-to-pay or other digital payments. Look, I'm not saying that you should get candy, I'm saying that in this time and age, with all the social distancing, if you need candy, call ahead, parking is plentiful, and get some wonderful candy. Stay calm, eat local, wash your hands."
"Excellent place to get drinking chocolate, churros, chocolates and other wonderful items!I got the Aztec which was a drinking chocolate that had unique ingredients and some corn involved. It was so very memorable and a joy to kick back and relax and do a slow sip on these types of drinks. Even bringing a friend to share a cup of such a beverage is a great idea as well! The churros are a delight! So very fresh and something you can just sink your teeth into and feel sheer bliss.Steve and I purchased some chocolate to take home and that was great too! As soon as we had it we were thrilled by it.If you are into trying different varieties of drinking chocolates or have some upper scale coffee drinks this place is a great idea when out and about in the Capitol Hill neighborhood!"
"Such a cute and cozy shop. In the heart of a small neighborhood, this small store is packed with goodies. We have been there twice and both times we are welcomed with a warm smile and friendly atmosphere. The owner is super knowledgeable and takes the time to answer questions and has great suggestions. I would highly recommend stopping by."

Chocolate heaven! the hot chocolate and the chocolates are little drops of heaven! We were in Greenwood and came across this highly rated chocolate shop. This is an Italian inspired chocolate shop which has lots of chocolates from all over the world, coffee and tea. They also have vinyl collection! We ordered Hot Chocolate which was made of Venezuelan Dark Chocolate (65%). It was one of the smoothest & silkiest chocolate drink we ever had. The owner gave us a brief intro about the store and we ordered truffles from Laderach brand. We took the Cardamon and Coconut flavors created by Laderach based on Indian flavors. Both of these chocolates took us back to our favorite Indian desserts based on Cardamon and Coconut! They were amazing! we also got a taste of new Chocolates from San Francisco. it was a dark chocolate made by Orange peels. You could taste the orange as well! The owner also mentioned that they are opening a new Italian sandwich shop across the street! This store is right at the intersection of a 4 way stop sign and has limited parking in front of the store; you can find street parking on either side.Lastly, this store is bit expensive and charges for the quality of the products they have!

I visited here as a very well known chef had said they have the absolute best chocolate here. Specifically the recommendation was the 70% Madagascar with sea salt. This location is simple but also an amazing experience because you can try any of their gourmet chocolates. Each was so unique and flavorful. I was blown away by how each had such a distinct quality to it. My favorite ended up as the 58% Madagascar dark milk but I also loved the 70% Belize with nibs and salt. It was nice that I could try one out and then decide between bars before making a final selection. This is a definite place for chocolate enthusiasts who want to treat themselves but also great for gifts.

Visited Fortunato Chocolate in Issaquah today, sampling some of their chocolates, drinking hot cocoa and purchasing some house roasted chocolate almonds. Everything we tasted was delicious and creamy. The chocolate covered almonds are truly the best I've had. (We took our samples and cocoa outside to eat/drink, for Covid safety.Highly recommend, if you're in Issaquah or want to treat yourself to some delicious chocolate, from the rare Fortunato farm Pure Nacional cacao trees in Peru. This is apparently one of the best cacao sources in the world. The gentleman who helped us was super nice.

Hands down my go to place for special treats. Caramel apples are hard to find, and we were getting them every time we went to seattle, which wasn't as often as we would like a caramel apple. So, I asked around and everyone mentioned Amy's. I wasn't disappointed! They have so many different caramel apples at any given time. From the classic covered in peanuts, to rocky road covered in all the things! The apples are priced at about $10 each, which I think is about the norm. Their other chocolates seem to be priced a bit high, but not high enough that I would get them for special occasions. The service is always wonderful and they are helpful as can be.

We went back to Royce and they still have wonderful Japanese chocolates. They have a good selection of different percentages of chocolate. I also enjoy the ones that need to be refrigerated as well.

Definitely the place to go if you are a chocolate lover! They have sipping chocolate, got chocolate and a large variety of different chocolate bars! I had the salted hot chocolate and molasses cookie, which was delicious. They also have a decent seating area to just hang out and have your coffee or hot chocolate.
Visit Restaurant Page"Our first time here and it won't be our last! The service was great, super friendly and helpful. The food was so good! Taking a simple idea like avocado toast and putting it on a crepe!! Awesome! Their chocolates are small but have a great flavor. A perfect size for a sweet treat!"
"I have been here several times before but my first time going on a tour. It was really cool had unique art and sculptures. Fun fact: Boehm was an Olympian. Stones on the roof heat up from the sun and keep the homes warm. There was a vast variety of candy. And tasty ice cream. I spent 70 bucks on candy. Even though I knew I wasn't going to eat it all, my eyes were bigger than my tummy. I gifted a lot of it. They do have a parking lot so no need to worry about finding a spot.Overall, you have to come here and check it out for yourself."
"Oh man ... my long search for a high quality and tasty candy shop in Seattle is finally over! If you've been looking around for great chocolate and are about to give up hope, no worries my friend. You'll find it in The Confectionery! They have a huge selection of pre-wrapped candies and treats, but their real treasure are their fresh selections behind the counter. Coming here, you have to have some of their chocolates and make a bag or box to go. Milk and dark chocolate lovers will be happy with so many flavors and kinds to chose from. At this stop, I got some of wife's favorites and she loved them all (marshmallow, coconut, turtles, caramels, and mints). For me, I got one of their original peanut butter cups --- I simply can't resist those, as they're my favorite! They are pretty pricey for chocolates, but it's so worth it. So much better than the cheap box stuff you get at the drug store and better than the other local shops that many people go to (I won't say the name, but most people can "see" them when they go to the mall). The Confectionery is well worth the higher price and worth fighting the crowds at the U-Village. I'll be back for boxes for special occasions and for when we have that yummy chocolate craving!"
"After trying Royce chocolates at the Chocolate Festival, I was incredibly excited to find out a stand had opened in the Alderwood Mall. It's a little thing, easy to pass by, but the chocolate is just as good as I remember and they hand out free samples. Highly recommend picking up some of their signature stuff. It's a little pricey at $20 a box, but it's worth treating yourself to."
"The waffles are awesome! Freshly made when you order, they are light and delicate. I especially enjoy the savory ones. Their pastries and chocolates are beautiful and delicious. They are open Friday through Sunday, so take a relaxing ride on the ferry or a nice scenic drive to Bainbridge Island and treat yourself to something special."
"Nice little chocolate shoppe with sweets on display. The chocolate is excellent and there's something for everyone. S'mores, dipped Oreos, turtles, fudge..."
"Last minute gift from Seattle for loved ones back home? If you're in Concourse C at SEA, get Seattle Chocolate. Honestly, Concourse C is where I did most of my last-minute vacation shopping- from this little shop to the Elliot Bay Book Company. I will 100% be back to visit their actual locations next time I'm in Seattle but the chocolate & book I got will have to hold me over until then. Although small, this shop carries such an array of beautiful chocolates. From the packaging to the flavors, I could do some serious damage to my wallet here... but not really because it's super affordable. The two ladies helping customers were so helpful and knowledgeable about the chocolates. You can take a bag and fill it with their individually wrapped chocolates ranging in flavors like Espresso, Mexican Hot Chocolate, Mint Chip, and Hazelnut Butter Crisp and they price it by weight. Another option for this is to get a small or bigger box and pay a fixed price to fill it up with as much of those wrapped chocolates as can fit! I do regret not doing this because I didn't want to get too much chocolate and had my eyes on some of the bars. I ended up getting at least one piece of each chocolate flavor available and two bars. One big bar of the Hazelnut Butter Crisp (my favorite) and one of the smaller bars in their specialty flavors, jcoco, in Black Fig Pistachio. Seattle Chocolate, you have my lil chocoholic heart. Collecting local chocolates will now be another tradition I will be doing when I travel and I'm so happy you inspired that."
"Do I love coming here or what!!!! Tiny store with baking supplies of all kinds. They also have chocolate making classes, I have not attended but plan to in the future. The store is small and packed. Decent prices and lots of variety of things. I just love coming here. Don't expect fancy equipment but expect knowledgeable and friendly staff."
"Every market needs a candy store for diversity. This is sugar heaven of your favorites, your forgotten favorites and your new favorites. My eyes went into a sugar coma when I saw 2 lb pucks of Reese PB Cups...I am NOT kidding. 2 f-ing pounds. It would take me weeks to eat that (and I love my Cups). The selection when all put together looks visually intriguing, however, it's candy that you can get anywhere else. I am just a sucker for candy (pun totally intended)."
"The chocolates here are amazing! I was able to sample the Nama Chocolates: Matcha, Bitter and Au lait, which was my favorite. These decadent treats are rich, smooth and creamy. I don't usually gravitate towards Matcha, but I enjoyed this one because of the melding of the white chocolate. After sampling, I perused the shop and decided to get a box of the Au lait Nama Chocolate, which comes with a tasting fork, Milk Pure Chocolate and was gifted a milk chocolate bar. The family was happy with this purchase!Staff were very friendly and helpful. Leni was there to help me decide which chocolates to choose from, which enhanced my shopping experience. She also educated me on the use of the tasting fork that can be used for eating the Nama Chocolate, cheese and using the spoon side for ice cream. I'm sure I'll think of other uses for it.I've purchased items from Royce before, but did not have the appreciation for the chocolates until this visit. These chocolates are meant to be savored."
"This place has drinking chocolate (yum), tons of interesting truffles (buy 3+ and they are $2 each), and tons of other goodies and goodie-making ingredients to buy (like super nice chocolate at ~$40-$50/lb if I recall correctly). What I loved was trying some of the interesting chocolates. Now, can I recall exactly what I had? Hm. Well, I had a lavender honey and it was decent. I had the espresso, which was good. And, hm, I forgot the third. But the fourth! How could I forget that? I can't. It was the habanero caramel. While a little sweet, that baby was HOT! And, that's what I loved about it. They delivered as advertised. Bottom line: Interesting chocolates made with quality ingredients. Check them out!"
"Truffles&More is located in Ballard, around the corner from Ballard Coffee Works. This business appears to be operated by Ballard Coffee Works according to their website. They are opened only Thu to Sun, with shortened hours on Sun. The business offers truffles (vegan options available), cookies, brownies, cakes, cupcakes, and cakebites. We arrived later in the day (near 5pm, they close at 6pm); many of the cakes/cookies options are understandably sold out for the day. We sampled:Chocolate truffle, $3.50 each (They have other flavors, but I opted for the original to taste the chocolate quality without influence.)Brownie, $4.75 eachTriple Chocolate cakebite, $3.25 eachTheir chocolate is non-glossy that has a freshly made, no preservatives look. They taste amazing! Look at the close-up photo of the cakebite. It tastes as freshly made as it looks; the chocolate melts in your mouth. I'll definitely try more items in the future. I am not going to address prices given how expensive everything is, from eggs to butter to infrastructure costs. I have included a photo of their posted prices."
"I purchased some chocolate dipped candied orange slices for a Christmas gift. The person receiving really loved them, and I did get to taste them too and they are amazing! I'm going to have to find my way to Bothell to get some more, unless someone can tell me what other craft fair I can find these at (I had purchased at Victory Hall the end of Nov)."
"Didn't swing in here for chocolate, however did have a craving for ice cream and boy did they fulfill that craving! The ice cream is local to the area. I had two small scoops of the Coconut Almond Fudge and White Chocolate Caramel. Very good, especially the Coconut one!The owner was very kind to sample almost all the flavors. This spot is located in a cute, tiny plaza with I believe two or three other businesses. It has a beautiful view overlooking Elliot Point. Just take your ice cream or chocolates outside and walk towards the cafe and BAM, you got yourself a romantical date with some delicious dessert to end the night."
"This place has been on my list for a while now. I finally got an opportunity to try it out. First of all, the location of this shop is amazing, you get a great view of the water from here. I got the sipping chocolate. The staff is very nice and friendly here. There is a good amount of seating as well.Although the sipping chocolate was great, it's not the best I have tried and that's why I took a star off. But I am excited to try their hot chocolate next time I go.My friend got a mocha and she loved it. Would highly recommend this place."
"The two visits to Evolve (8/25/19 and 10/23/20), located on the top floor of Village Books in Bellingham's Fairhaven District, primarily focused on using up a generous gift card. However, I have only indulged in one thing, their drinking chocolate.Rich, luscious, decadent, luxurious dark chocolate. I feel pampered, sometimes it elicits naughty thoughts.Yes, they have other pastries, food/beverage items, and handmade chocolates. But I'm a creature of habit. Two words, drinking chocolate."
"I've never had the opportunity to check out this cute little chocolate shop, but we needed a coffee and this was nearby. The shop itself has some really cool gifts and lots of unique chocolates I want to try! Snickerdoodle, PB&J, and Raspberry Cheesecake fudge just to name a few. The white chocolate mocha we ended up getting was very meh. It had waaay too much foam for a mocha, and it for some reason had a fruity undertone to it. I won't be coming back for coffee but I might need to try those chocolates."
"Call me a grinch, but I do not like hot chocolate...unless it's from Intrigue Chocolate! This is the one of the best places for hot chocolate and CHOCOLATE. Every time I'm in Pioneer Square, I find myself stopping by Intrigue Chocolate. It's a small space that's inviting with the most patient and friendly staff. There are a variety of truffles in the case to choose from, especially since if you check-in on Yelp, you get a free truffle with purchase! And there are different, high-quality chocolate bars for sale, in addition to the bar they have where you can order your chocolate-y drink! Plus, there's coffee here in case you need a caffeine fix. In my most recent visit I tried the French Laundry drink and for someone who does not like flavored coffees, this one was outta this world! Although you should try the hot chocolate if you haven't already, the French Laundry is one I recommend for anyone who loves lavender flavors and needs coffee! The French Laundry is made up of milk, cold brew and lavender syrup. Simple but tons of flavor! There is a lot to intrigue you at Intrigue Chocolate! This is such a treat in Seattle and is one of my favorite places for chocolate. It will soon be yours too once you visit!"
"I like this Japanese chocolate. The ones that have to be refrigerated have the most flavor and are really creamy. The individually wrapped chocolates in the boxes with varying cocoa levels are a great way to have a chocolate after a meal."
"LOOKS GOOD ! My wife and I had a 6 hour layover at Seattle Airport, WA enroute to Paris from California. We were tempted to buy lattes here but ended up having lunch at Salty's at the SEA...including well made lattes !NOTE - Of course with over 22 million views of my Yelp reviews and pics world wide in 2022 I can tell you what is great !"
"Fantastic selection of locally made confections. Superb! Delicious hot coco and coffee beverages as well. The staff is always friendly and eager to help you. We are hooked! Don't visit the Silverdale mall without stopping in for a treat."
"I enjoyed the factory tour and learned a lot about the history and science of chocolate in the process. We sampled itty bitty pieces of chocolate throughout the tour and moved through a few rooms. You are encouraged to take lots of pictures and if you post them on social media they want to be tagged. Our tour guide kept the conversation moving and knew how to engage a group. It lasted about an hour and included a question and answer session. Afterwards we ended up in the gift shop with a twenty percent off coupon."
"I recently purchased a Groupon for a box of their salted caramels. The lady there was very nice and I had no problems redeeming the Groupon. She even asked me if I wanted milk, dark, or half and half, which is nice. She also tied a nice ribbon around the beautiful box.The chocolate shop is very tiny, could probably fit like 4 people at most. Their chocolates look amazing. I tried their latte truffle and it was delicious. Had a hint of espresso in it.I hope to try more of their chocolates in the future."
