I asked about bulk meat first time we were there and they recently reached out letting me know a 1/4 or 1/2 Beef was available. We agreed to the 1/4 at 183lbs and went over the cut sheet. A few days later got a call that the beef was ready. We showed up Saturday and picked up our order. We are super excited with our purchase. Our total cost per on is less than you can buy ground beef in the grocery. We got steaks, roasts, Maui cut ribs, carne asada, hamburger, soup bones and more. Only problem is finding a store with freezers in stock! Our little chest freezer is full and happy."

"This place is incredible! I love love love that hometown feel that butcher shops give off. It is local love in the meatiest of ways! We had a friends that said they had the best jerky ever and they were not wrong. The jerky is AWARD WINNING and I am not even kidding you, we ordered so many different kinds. Buffalo, Tri - Tip, Salmon, and a few more. The food is fresh, the service was quick and we were in complete road trip mode so having snacks in the backseat that were tasty and local made it even better. The smoked candied salmon was absolutely incredible. I still dream of it. We also purchased a bbq rub that we have been using on EVERYTHING. And also a chili mix that was slow cooker heaven for the holidays right about now!"

"It's a decent butcher shop with a big variety, including some more exotic meats.The meat looks great, but I have to question the Prime designation on some of the beef. Especially since we bought three NY strips and sous vide cooked them, but they weren't super tender as Prime should be (especially cooked this way). I've had juicier and more tender steaks buying Fred Meyer's Choice Angus steaks.We also bought quail for Thanksgiving. Like most of the exotics here, they were frozen. They were good, but they showed signs of repeated partial thawing and re-freezing. There was a TON of ice in the package and around the quails--the type that forms when things melt and re-freeze. Also had a good bit of frost in the package.The staff is friendly and helpful, but a little slow. That's okay in normal times but a little unsettling in the COVID-19 era when you're in the store waiting with two other customers. To their credit, they do follow COVID-19 public health guidelines for masks, gloves, sanitizer, and capacity limits.Overall, I'd probably only return here if I was in search of some exotic meat for something special."

"I had another amazing meal at Beast & Cleaver. When I tell you this place does NOT disappoint. I mean it NEVER disappoints. My favorites tonight were the Foie Gras Terrine, white chocolate & orange zest. The slow roasted cabbage, classic beurre blanc & crispy garlic. The pork chop, from Pure Country Farm, Wa. The Foie gras was served with toasted bread and a cranberry sauce. The words to describe the Foie gras escape me. Just know that the joy escaped my lips more than once while at the dinner table. IF you have been to Beast and Clever, you know how intimate the space is. Everyone there knew how much not only I enjoyed that dish, but everyone at our table. It was so divine, we ordered some to go fromThe butchers case. My brother even drove some over to his friends house because when food is that good, you share the love. Now when we ordered the cabbage and the pork, we didn't expect them to serve to us together but oh my heavens. Doing this was the best experience ever. The pork was tender and flavorful and perfectly pan roasted. I swear they always have just the right amount of salt on their meat here. And the cabbage with the sauce - speechless. Perfectly cooked! The A5 Wagyu is divine here too. Cooked medium rare and it was just like butter. The most intense pack of flavor without any the work you expect in typically eating beef. Amazing!And let's not leave out how great the staff is here. They are so warm and friendly. I never feel anything less than family or a close friend coming here."

"We picked up sausages to take on our trip on a whim and we were blown away. We loved the fact that these were 100% hazelnut fed pigs and the proof was in the meat. We bought a variety - the Thai special, Toulouse, spicy Italian and chorizo. Our favs were the Thai and Toulouse. We grilled them and they had the perfect umami flavor and stayed juicy on the grill. They had a ton of items that looked delish - we would love to they their prosciutto and marinated meats next time. They had a small fridge with other local items such as eggs, homemade pasta sauces, fresh pasta, homemade pickles (we bought these and they were great), etc. Cant wait to go back!"

It's hard to fall in love with a dish, and then a couple months later, when you want it again, it's not there. However, they do a great job of bringing on new replacement dishes that are always excellent for the most part.I had their congee with pork belly and think it's actually as good or better than I have had at any Chinese restaurant. Butcher and Baker Provisions makes the best congee. I can feel it awaken something inside of me when eating it. It is healing!I also tried on their new menu the dish with the herring and potatoes. This I didn't like at all. and only took one bite and put it down. Had they used kippered herring or a smoked fish of any kind, it would have been extraordinary. But the herring tasted raw and overly fishy. Thus, the reason for me giving a 4 star review instead of my usual 5-star big thumbs up review .I am a super fan of the restaurant. I love hearing from Joe what's coming up on the future menus. His attention to customers is exactly what a patron looks for and deserves.Oh, and curbside pickup is awesome. Makes it so convenient"

"Decent Asian supermarket on Jackson. It is one of the ones that is closer in location to the Chinatown part of the ID.Dong Hing, not to be confused with Dong Sing Market is a medium sized grocery. There is a seafood selection in the back and a fairly sizable meat selection here. Grocery section seems a bit smaller than Hau Hau and Viet Wah but sufficient. Like those shops, it can get crowded as the spacing is a bit tight here.Produce selection is good. It seems to be of better quality compared with a few of the other places. Prices though seem a a couple cents higher here, but I will pay willingly for a fresher product. ID produce prices are relatively cheap compared to mainstream competitors like Safeway and QFC. I do also like that they have a parking lot next to the building. It is a bit difficult to exit though when you do as it is right off the hubbub of Jackson.Overall, I like Dong Hing. It is relatively cleaner than a few of the other shops in the area, but you will still need to endure the crowds. Still good Asian finds to be had here."

I later shared them with family members and wow they were delicious! It's a good thing I placed them in the car trunk earlier or they would have been mere empty plastic bags!I also bought an Iberico smoked sausage and a pound of their peppered bacon.Counterperson was very pleasant and offered other choices alongside the free samples.
