"Nestled on the outskirts of Pikes Place in Seattle, Skalka offers a delightful culinary experience with a scenic backdrop that complements its unique approach to dining. The restaurant's commitment to delicious food and an innovative online ordering system makes it a standout in the bustling Seattle food scene. One of the notable features of Skalka is its picturesque location, providing a charming escape from the urban hustle. The ambiance is perfect for those seeking a break from the Pike's Place touristy noise.Skalka takes an unconventional approach to ordering, with the entire process conducted online. While this may be a novel concept, it does streamline the ordering process, ensuring efficiency and accuracy. However, this approach might not suit everyone, especially those who prefer a more traditional experience with face-to-face interaction. The menu at Skalka boasts a variety of delectable options, showcasing a fusion of flavors that cater to diverse palates. The Chicken Boat seemed a bit overwhelming and a bit to ummm mushy. In hindsight, opting for the Cheese Boat alone might have been a wiser choice, as it allowed the individual ingredients to shine without the slight overcrowding observed in the Chicken Boat. While the food at Skalka is undoubtedly a highlight, the service could use a friendlier touch. The online ordering system, while efficient, lacks the personal interaction that many patrons seek in a dining experience. A bit more warmth and engagement from the staff could elevate the overall satisfaction for guests. If the restaurant could enhance its service with a more personable touch, it would undoubtedly secure its place as a must-visit destination on the outskirts of Pikes Place in Seattle."
"Stopped in to watch a football playoff game and then asked why I had not been here before. Friendly servers. Fun raffle. And great good. Offerings in the Happy Hour menu sufficed for our dinner. Enjoy!"

The prawns were cooked perfectly, and the andouille sausage had the perfect amount of garlic in it. In fact, it was some of the best I've ever had, even in Louisiana. I'm impressed, to say the least, since my favorite activity in New Orleans is eating. Nice work, Mama Stortinni's."
"I stopped in for breakfast on a Monday morning. I dined in and ordered the tofu scramble ($5.95 plus tax), and added some grilled veggies to it ($3 plus tax). It took a little time to come out -- 20-25 mins. The scramble is decent, coming with vegan cheese melted on top, and accompanied with potatoes, green peppers, onions and mushrooms, and a side of vegan buttered white toast. Not the highest quality nor one of the more interesting tofu scrambles, but it did the job and was reasonably priced. Old Town down the street does much better scrambles (though quite a bit pricier), so I'd recommend going there for those, but this was a nice spot in the heart of downtown B'ham."
"This is a tiny place where you order your food at the counter and wait. There are a few chairs. The parking is a big challenge unfortunately. I parked over at Taco Bell because the small lot at this multi-office building was full, street parking limited and full, store across the street was very clearly marked that it was for their customers only and would tow. The person that took my order was friendly and answered my questions about the food options. There were about 4 orders ahead of mine. It only took about 10 minutes. They have some Hawaiian items and drinks for sale. The food was delicious! I had kalua pig and shoyu chicken with rice. I will definitely be back!"
"What a cute spot! I worked here over lunch and absolutely loved the vibes. It has a really cool, modern feel, and was lively enough to be fun but chill enough to be a good spot to work. Our server was very helpful and kind. I am gluten free and they don't offer many gluten free options, but she asked the chef to make the nicoise sandwich as a salad and they were happy to do it. I would love to see them get in some gluten free bread and baked good options in the future. The salad was lovely, and so was my mimosa! Great service, ambiance, but could use a more inclusive menu."
"I might not have found any Orcas yet but I have found a great place for food. Gertie's is staffed with the nicest people. Coffee is hot and their food full of flavor. Small restaurant but has a full bar and they were busy making mimosa's."
"Straight up one of the best pizzas I have had in Seattle. This is a pie of righteousness and I devoured it along with a friend. It might not be super beautiful but it is super flavorful and whoops the bejesus out of any chain pizza. When I sunk my teeth into that thick cheesy goodness...that Italian sausage, that tomato sauce, everything on that pizza served a purpose of amazingness. This isn't a thin crust pizza those have their purpose, this isn't a Chicago style pizza, this is a MF Petro's Special at Christos!!!! Best Pizza I have had all year!"
"I finally checked out this gem I had bookmarked, and boy, was it worth the wait! As we approached, the line of locals and tourists hinted at something great - or maybe just a really popular fire drill? But no, it lived up to the hype! First off, can we talk about the name? I seriously regret not snagging some merch; "Biscuit Bitch" would look great to rock! Now, onto the scrumptious stuff. We dove into the Hot Mess and the Biscuit with gravy and scrambled eggs. Absolute perfection! The grits were like a smooth jazz concert for my taste buds, and those biscuits? Lol They practically did a happy dance in that gravy lake of deliciousness! The customer service was absolutely amazing!! Such nice people! I love it! Next time I'm back in Seattle- I'm trying the Biscuit wiches! Please take me back for more!!"
"Where all the cool kids go. Seriously, if you're looking for a hip new hole-in-the-wall coffee joint, this is your place. They have unique options for everyone. I wish I could have tried more of the menu."

Absolutely delicious and made the perfect brunch! I have had this spot on my list for a long time and was excited to come here while on a date with my husband before checking out the Seattle Aquarium. It's a really clean and open cafe. We ordered at the self order kiosk. I got the chicken and my husband got the stroganoff. Both were so tasty. The bread is perfection and everything was very flavorful. Overall, really enjoyed this spot and it's high on my recommendation list for family and friends to try!

We decided to give this place a second chance. Service 4/5 our server was janetha. She was very very friendly! Very personable. My only slight complaint was that we'd asked for something and it took a second request to get it. Not a deal breaker tho. Food...Dijon steak. 4/5. I mean this place isn't John howie...but my husband thoroughly enjoyed his steak and the pasta. He ate the whole steak but was full so took the pasta home to our son who ate it all and said it was delicious. Turkey club. 5/5. I have zero complaints here. The taste was wonderful, fresh, refreshing and the waffle fries were perfectly cooked. All in all was a really good meal. We will for sure be back soon!!

Mama Stortini's has the "dance" down. Packed house for lunch on a weekday, yet seated within 10 minutes. Huge menu with diverse options, served fast. The manager is greeting every table and delivering food - so friendly and professional. Toasted cheese bread app - 6 huge portions with a delectable marinara dip. Chicken pear salad and Tuscan chop chop salad - both plentiful and mixed well. Fairly priced!Lazy lasagna (lunch portion) - wow!I would also like to add that Mama Stortini's is extremely charitable, having donated food for a non-profit event in the community. Thank you chef!! This generosity, in addition to their A+ food and service, makes me grateful to have Mama's in Puyallup.

Wow! Such amazing food and service! I was helped by Neri and Jean and my day was instantly brightened! My gluten free pumpkin loaf was greatly enhanced by the beautiful laugh by Neri that came with it. I will definitely be returning to see my new friends. These two deserve all the raises and love this world has to offer!

I would have never discovered this hidden gem if I didn't chance upon it on a Facebook post. I ordered online (it gives you a range for pickup time - like noon - 6pm, but the owner said that once you pay online, they make the food immediately and should be ready for pickup within 15-20 minutes. The place is small, parking is a challenge, somewhat difficult to locate, but the food is well worth the trouble. Order and take your food to go as there aren't any tables and chairs for dine in. Love the kalua Pig and Shoyu Chicken combo (comes with mac salad and 2 scoops of rice). Both Lomi Salmon and Poke were good, too. Their Guava Cake is very moist and not overly sweet. I wish the Musubi had a thicker slice of Spam and not too much rice. Other than that, I love the food and the owner is friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend!

Your new favorite brunch spot on the Eastside. Food is absolutely delicious. We enjoyed the meatball sandwich, breakfast sandwich and seasonal mushroom quiche. Food was served in a timely manner even while the place was starting to get packed. Staff are friendly and inviting. The restaurant is family friendly with wide aisles, inclusive restrooms and changing tables. Love that this restaurant is female owned by a Newcastle native.
Visit Restaurant Page"It's my first time in but my second time eating their food. So far, food is decent, good portions, good flavors. It sucked sitting facing the windows because the sun burned my damn retinas. The wait staff was nice but real snippy. We came in like 1.5 hours before closing so maybe that was a part of it, idk."
"Great staff and quick service. I ordered an iced mocha and m&m cookie. Both were delicious and easy to order from your car or walk up. The barista was fast and kind. She was balancing the drive up window and the walk up window like a champ. If I lived closer, I would stop here for my morning joe on the way into work. If you want a quick coffee before a hike or ice skating, this is your place. I want try one of their summer drinks because they sounded so refreshing!"
"Came here after a group activity for some food and drinks. Popular looking spot right in the middle of Greenlake area we were seated inside for our party of 5 quickly as it was nice out all the outdoor seats were taken, so take note if you wish to enjoy that.I got a couple orders of Spicy habanero mac balls. 'Panko crusted' habanero cheese, jalapeño with sweet chili sauce for dipping. off the bat the consistency between the two plate was off, one had more sauce than the other, but I didn't want to raise that big of an issue with it. The mac balls themselves were ok. Slight kick with 5 "balls" per order running about $13-14. The sauce is the same as you get at and on any pub Thai chili wings order. The highlight was absolutely the milkshake. I got the Boston Creme shake, and man. It lived up to its reputation as they have on the menu that they have the best milkshakes. It was SOOO chocolatey, but not too chocolatey. If you're feeling a milkshake while here, I recommend. Not a bad spot come with a group, as it there is a fairly varied menu."
"This was pretty good for airport food. I stopped at Rel'Lish on a layover at SeaTac. I did get a seat at the bar. The bartender looked to be stretched a little thin. She directed me to order online (I dislike doing that when they are sitting right in front of me). The online options were limited, especially in the drinks. I ended up ordering my food online and then had to catch the bartender to put in my drink order. She seemed perturbed that I didn't order it online (I would have if the pretty standard well drink was on the menu). The food was good. I had a burger, it was pretty standard Sysco food. The toppings were fresh enough. Everything was cooked well, the fries were hot and crispy. No complaints there. I also liked that I could get a burger at 9am. Decent food, mediocre service."
"Wow, I sure do have a lot of good things to say about this place. I have recently moved closer to Downtown Seattle and I have also gotten a new job. This spot has made me feel very welcome and helped to ease the transition into a new phase of my life. Consistently, I am greeted promptly with warm-welcoming smiles from every employee. Specifically, I have noticed that employees seem to enjoy working with each other which creates a hospitable environment for patrons and staff alike. I can definitely see myself continuing to frequent this spot.I love their coffee and their food, however if I were to make one critique, I would say find a way to make the iced drinks more cold because they are a bit melty and luke-warm rather than cold. I would suggest flavor - shots - ice - milk, though I do understand each place has it's own way of standardizing processes for making drinks.Overall, I have been very satisfied with my experience here and I am happy to have a local coffee spot. :)"
"Wonderful restaurant on Mercer Island! Their pasta is good, their pizza is good, their burger is good; and the bread, is soooo dang good! The heart of all of itAnd the tasty flavors is the bread and the wood fire oven! Staff is always friendly! Whether with a group, or just grabbing a mean for one, I was treated great in both scenarios! Cocktails are great quality and very reasonably priced! Try their old fashioned and cold brew martini!Worth taking an I-90 pit stop for!"
"Food is good here but restaurant is small/right. Parking was also stressful since you have to find parking on the street. While the food was tasty, I'm not sure it warrants another visit (or come out of your way to come here). The seating was tight and it felt very busy which also stressed me out a little seeing the service staff hurriedly drop off food at other tables around me.This restaurant is owned by the Jack's bbq owners."
"Came for a beer and it was a cool atmosphere. The beer came quickly and I also got some nachos to munch on while drinking the beer. I can't speak for the rest of the menu but the nachos were good. Service was good and I would definitely come back to try other things on the menu."
"Everybody knows about the coconut cream pie, everybody. IF NOT, remedy that vacancy IMMEDIATELY!!!-it truly is the platonic ideal of coconut desserts, if not coconut used in edible form.HOWEVER, today (after intermittently consuming edibles from this purveyor of baked goods since transplanting here some 25 years ago, I review donuts (as most reviews). I am a proverbial zombie to engage in a first bite of a Donut.A Sunday morning found me and my adolescent in tow with some extra time and I could not remember the last time I crossed the threshold of the bakery (rather than enjoying branded treats at another of Tom Douglas's eateries).Mochi-nuts, gluten free donuts. All six flavors, equal in function and form.Guava, orange-tamarind, dirty chai, German chocolate, funfetti, and matcha yuza,The orange tamarind had a vibrancy and zing not unlike my homemade cold brew coffee (that I'm petty sure isn't street legal with its concentration of consumable caffeine). Spark.Zest.We wanted more.Thankfully there were other donuts in the box.All delicious, all of them. This is truly an Indian statement for me to make regarding fried dough. But, they all are good. The orange does stand tall among giants this morning. As evidenced, the picture today was lucky to have captured half-eaten pastry as they quickly disappeared."
"Came here for my birthday and was blown away by the food and service. Started with mock-tails that were just okay, little too tart for me. Ordered the tuna noodles, bread and butter, pork belly and the seasonal green salad to start. Pork belly melted in my mouth, the pickled veg were a nice addition to the sweet/richness of the pork. Tuna noodles were my favorite, light and just the right amount of seasoning. Bread was good and warm, the tomato pesto was not good though. The salad was good but the goat cheese was a little too much for me. For mains, we got the steak and the mad thatcher chicken. Each main came with potatoes and the chicken came with a mini salad. The salad on my chicken was personally better than the one we ordered because it was lighter and simpler (lemon, oil). The potatoes were good, a simple roasted one that wasn't heavy handed. The chicken was good but the sauce (the lighter one) was a little too much for me, the lighter green one was good. Partner said the steak was fine, the potatoes that came with hers were good, a solid crispy potato. I love potatoes. We ordered the lemon curd for dessert and that was SO good, the Greek yogurt layer really helped balance the acidity and the cake croutons were a nice textural element. Server also brought macaroons for my birthday. Service was really good and attentive, restaurant is open and clean."
"Note: Opened 5/15/23 @ former drive through site that used to be Black Rock, Turtle Coffee, and Red Rock.Welcome Grounds Coffee Co. to North Seattle. The drive through is located at 143rd & Aurora/Hwy 99 next door to Kidd Valley, close to the Seattle - Shoreline border. This indie chain has other established sites located in Woodinville, Mukilteo, Snohomish, and Kenmore.I stopped by during their Grand Opening on 5/15/23. Very nice and upbeat barista that morning. Tasty, perfectly crafted iced mocha! Started a punch card too.Second visit was after a stop at the nearby Bitter Lake Post Office on 5/31/23. Thankful to see two baristas onsite, including the previous upbeat one. Again, good to report consistently crafted iced mochas. I got my usual 16oz and a 32oz (6 shots!) one for The Homie.Their beverage and light bites menu is vast. So many choices and reasonably priced. Definitely recommended!"
"Taste- *****Ambiance- ***Parking- ****Service- *****Salama is a gem, and I encourage all to try it. This was one of the most satisfying meals I've had in some time. The owners and servers are so friendly and guided us to some great recommendations. We tried rice with lamb and chicken combo and kati-kati (a "sauté noodle dish" made with bread). The dishes are deliciously spiced, flavors are complex and aromatic. Highlights for me included the rice, the kati-kati, the chicken, and the fried appetizer. The portion were generous, and the price very reasonable. We really enjoyed our dishes and will be returning for sure!"
"To be honest, I didn't think I'd like this place because the photos made me think the egg sandwiches would be greasy. They were greasy yes, but delicious. I got the sweet cheeks, bacon, egg, cheese, some maple syrup on that bottom bun, a sprinkling of cinnamon sugar on top...so good. I paid extra to have caramelized onions, not worth it since it was the smallest portion ever. The sandwich was everything I wanted, salty, savory, sweet. So good. My friend got the brunch burger and liked it, said it was good. We opted not to get fries. After tax and tip, it was $32 bucks. So around $16 a sandwich, we were still hungry, so...not sure if it was totally worth it. Interior is fun and loud."
"Dinner with friends, we arrived before 6pm and were warmly welcomed despite not having a reservation.Charcuterie plate to start. Nicely presented and a lot of cheese and meat and nibbles. A perfect starter and plenty of it.For mains, I chose the cioppino and it was very good. Tasty broth and a few mussels with some pieces of fish and some clams. I'm glad I wasn't wearing anything white as this is the definition of "splashy."[Review 20914 overall - 120 in Washington - 1898 of 2023.]"
"Good variety of food. I love it that when you can't seem to decide what you're hungry for, they have different options here, so you can get a little bit of everything, or a lotta bit of everything. I wanted to try everything, but it sure adds up; a little bit pricey. But I expected that, since it is Bellevue. The veggies are really good. I liked the green beans, mushrooms, and the avocado salad. The Chinese food was good to, but still kind of reminded me of the Chinese food you get and Chinese buffets or fast food Chinese. I will definitely come here again when I want a little variety for lunch."
"Yeah, I don't think so. Two tiny tacos and a giant portion of beans and rice. We're already on Friday Harbor so people know it's gonna be expensive regardless. You might as well charge me more and give me a plate that's actually satisfying. I didn't even like the tacos that much. So much cabbage, it's like a cabbage taco that happens to have a little bit of fish in it. And the fish itself is like half breading. And that fish is dry and the breading was inconsistent. I started drizzling Tapatio over everything. Nice rice, what brand of box was it? I agree with the other reviews that question how this can have a near five star average. Maybe some of their other meats are better, but this fish taco is not it. I haven't been to Friday Harbor in forever. If this is considered one of the better restaurants nowadays then it's not worth the ferry ride."
"The food was good and cooked perfectly. The selection was limited but what they did have was good. I went with a large party and no one left unsatisfied and to go boxes were to be had. The service was friendly and spot on. The were very accommodating for our large party."
"The food is pretty amazing. Def has that home cooked feel and taste. We had to wait a substantial time for our food to come out but it was well worth the wait. This place IS busy. The wait staff did an amazing job keeping us comfortable while we waiting. There's lots of historical literature and some trivia to keep the mind busy. The Cafe has that small town feel. Very charming. I knocked down a star for the bathroom. It's pretty rough in there. . Will for sure be coming again."
"Took a chance in this Pho restaurant and I'm glad I did. The menu was simple and had all of the items I was looking for. Ordered icd coffee with condensed milk, chá giò, and a large pho with steak, brisket, and fatty flank. I absolutely love the broth. The pho came with the standard bean sprouts, basil, and lime wedge. The chá giò (fried egg rolls) was still hot and fresh from the fryer. The ice coffee was already pre-made and nice sweet caffeinated drink to keep the food coma away. Overall, I'd definitely come back to try other items in the menu. Staff was friendly and efficient."
"Really good coffee. Nice little shop. Nice staff. Bakery items and sandwiches higher quality than national chain from Seattle that rhymes with aw shucks."
"Good service and quick to the table, good wine choices, amazing steak, you get two sides with your steak. I had the wedge and the potato pancakes. Everything was spot on. It looked like everyone around us was having a great time and enjoying the meals. I didn't see one bad dish or anyone complaining place was busy and it all looked amazing."
