We ordered the pulled pork, chicken bacon ranch and Texas toast grilled cheese for our kiddo and they all tasted really fresh and were packed with flavour. You can customize your sandwich with any of their ingredients too - we added jalapeños/pepperocinis to ours for a nice kick. Will definitely be adding this place to our takeout rotation!"

There were a lot of people on the Saturday afternoon, but we were able to snag a few seats at the bar. I ordered the mi vit quay/roasted duck noodles with soup ($17). The bowl came out with broth fresh from the stove, and I couldn't wait to try! The broth was light but full of flavor. I pretty much drank the whole thing and didn't feel too heavy. I liked how they added a lot of green onions, as it added a refreshing crunch to the bowl. The noodles were cooked well and the roasted duck was delicious. They roast their duck at the shop, so you know it is homemade. The duck was both crispy and juicy, making it addicting to eat.Overall, I enjoyed my meal here and would come by again!"

We were staying in Skykomish and on a scenic drive and decided to swing by to eat. I gather by the reviews that it may not be nessissarily locals reviewing this spot. You walk in and there is a small gift shop and then you meet Becky, the GM. We chatted for a minute about the menu and went with her recommendations of BBQ feast for 2 or 3. It should be for 4....whew so much yummy food...chicken...beef....pork.. corn bread and 2 sides. Needless to say we are having leftovers for dinner (and probably lunch ). We had to take some dessert and the pie is made by a local woman who doesn't have a storefront but just enjoys making pies. We will sample that tonite! This is a must stop if you are traveling through town. We met the owner and he's just a chill, nice guy. Make sure you stop at this spot. And ask for Becky !"

Jacques I. "My favorite, local BBQ joint has opened on the eastside! WOOT! I was ecstatic to hear that Jack's BBQ was taking over the old Mayuri restaurant along Bel-Red road, as I anticipated an opening ever since it had its pop-up location in Bellevue during COVID. Now, it's finally here. My partner and I visited Jack's BBQ during opening day where we talked to the man himself, Jack! He was there, very hospitable and friendly, greeting guests and clearing tables. We visited during dinner time and the place was packed. We were able to snag a seat outside on the patio where it's dog friendly and there's cornhole. Like ol' Texas style, I love that the tables were picnic style outside. Inside, it's plenty of booth seating with a small bar area. The menu features a lot more than its OG location in SODO, as it incorporates what's offered at SODO and Algona. Therefore, you have the classic BBQ entrees, along with steaks, sandwiches, and breakfast items AKA the eastside location is the best location! We got it all, yo! Now the decision on what to order will be your biggest challenge here. My partner and I shared the picnic platter, which comes with all brisket, pulled pork, pork ribs, jalapeno sausage and chicken, and four sides of our choosing. When we visited, they didn't have chicken, which was no big deal as we wanted to double up on our favorite protein here anyway - the brisket. Brisket is king here. But I mean, everything of the picnic platter was delicious! If I had to rank the meats, it goes: brisket, pork ribs, jalapeno beef sausage and then pulled pork. For our sides, we chose the cornbread, queso mac and cheese, collard greens and chili. Again, everything was delicious, which includes the sides. But damn, I am in love with that cornbread. It's basically dessert. *Drooling* Also, Texas style chili is the best chili ever as it's ALL MEAT AND NO BEANS. Stop with these unnecessary fillers! I'm serious when I say I am coming back. Everything on this menu looked intriguing, like the catfish sandwich, chicken fried steak and tomahawk steak for two. Save room for dessert because I hear the banana cream pudding is a staff favorite. I've never made it this far, which I know is child's play. But one of these days I'm gonna try it. It's just that the BBQ is so dang good that I happily fill up on it. Speaking of filled up on, the picnic platter is way more food than just for two and I say this from two people who can eat a lot, love meat and constantly work out. Not trying to impress you with my gun show, but yeah. The portions are hefty here. Love everything about Jack's BBQ, a piece of central Texas in Washington state. It's my favorite region of BBQ and am so glad Jack, the Texan has moved over to the Pacific Northwest to give us Washingtonians something that's hard to get - damn good, Texan BBQ."

My grandma, dad, and I all went to the store to pick up the ribs after ordering them in advance. In addition to the rack of ribs, we got a container of the their BBQ sauce. The workers were friendly and it was simple and clear how to pick up the order. The interior decor matched the restaurant cuisine.Back at the house we kept the ribs warm in the oven until dinner time and they were finger-linking good when we sat down and ate. The meat was tender and not too fatty and the BBQ sauce flavorful. Fun family dinner experience."

Jacques I. "I met my friend at Hero's BBQ for lunch and had no idea this place existed. I do like the concept, where you can select your own food, including the meats. But it is pricey and if you're expecting the traditional Brazilian steakhouse offerings, then some items you will not find here. Hero's BBQ is located in the Totem Lake area of Kirkland in an older business strip. I visited on a Friday for lunch and the place was busy. I arrived here first and was unsure of how everything worked until I witnessed others getting a plate and helping themselves to the buffet bar and then walking up to a window at the back of the room where you select from the different rotating meats. Then you pay your bill and seat yourself. It is pricey and the food is weighed. It was about $13 per pound and I kid you not, the plate itself was quite heavy. I would recommend getting this as takeout so you can use that container instead of the plate for weighing. Also, nothing at the buffet bar was marked, indicating what it was. That was unhelpful.I did enjoy the food, especially the different cuts of meat I tried. The staff at the meat window was also accommodating, asking what kind of cook I wanted on my meat and if I wanted more slices or the meat to be sliced thicker, etc. That was nice. However, I must say that compared to going to an AYCE Brazilian steakhouse, then your best bet, depending on how hungry you are, would be to actually go to an AYCE steakhouse versus getting items here. My meal ended up being nearly $20, which is costly for lunch. I'd rather just go big and get all the steakhouse meats and buffet items, plus the famous cheesy bread and polenta that you get at the table. Not a bad place, but for my Brazilian meats and buffet offerings, I'll just stick to an actual steakhouse for that."

Only plastic cups for water and you also need to grab cutlery. Now that we've established it's very casual, you are ready to go. Their pita is very good, handmade, fresh and hot. My friend and I ordered the mezze platter and a sandwich each, which was too much food. We both took the sandwich to go.The hummus and baba ghanouj were total winners, as was the fried cauliflower. The beet salad was meh, unseasoned steamed beets, super sad after the other three wonder. Prices are a little high but portions are good."

Upon walking into the restaurant we were greeted by a very friendly host, we paid and started making the rounds. There was a LOT of variety of foods. despite coming around 6:45pm when they close at 8pm everything tasted very fresh and was well stocked. The highlight was the steak that each of us tried. My daughter got their cheeseburger and thought it was so good she didn't even want to put anything on it. The steaks and burgers are cooked to order which is really nice to have your steak cooked to desired pinkness or lack there of. The chef did a spot on job and it was very well seasoned. They also had a build your own pasta bar. We got noodles, shrimp, mushrooms, scallops with Alfredo sauce. It was very flavorful and tasted quite fresh. I put a little of everything (think one bite) on my plate so I could sample and I think the orange chicken was my favorite. It rated better imo than any Chinese restaurant I've been to! The manager Brian stopped by and he was just as friendly and welcoming as their host and the friendly gentleman that kept our table clean of dirty plates. Thank you to everyone working tonight. I know Ive seen some people pull the race card out but... Im Korean so they just aren't good w/ customer service all together. The restaurant does not have dine in, carry out only and they are located at the Federal way farmers market with their food truck. We ordered the brisket, rib tips, baked beans and potato salad. The entire meal came with slice white bread, pickles and sauce. The food was so delicious, the rib tips were our favorite only because the brisket was tasty but a little dry. Brisket is a difficult meat to smoke and keep juicy-pretty much baby siting the meat-I've made brisket at home and it takes time!!!!! The restaurant was very clean, well organized, lots of options to choose from, they offer bottled soda and I didn't see any dessert options but there's plenty of bakery's near if you have a sweet tooth afterwards. The lady who greeted us was friendly, polite and welcoming. Answering all my list of questions and made sure we received our complete order before leaving. The prices for the meats in the barbeque seemed slightly pricey so we opted for entrées. All five banchans were refillable.-----Seafood Pancake: squid, shrimp, onions, and green onions ($18.99).The pancake was delicious. It was largely sized and adequately topped with seafood. Batter was pan fried well and oily but had the perfect crispiness.-----Sundubu: spicy beef broth w/ silk tofu, vegetable, egg, and choice of pork, seafood, veggie, or combo (+$1). Served w/ 4 side dishes and steamed rice ($16.99).A hearty stew to have on a cold and cloudy day. I picked pork as my protein. It was loaded with soft tofu and the spicy level was mild to me. The egg was missing from my sundubu.-----Reservations are accepted. Each table has a call button, but the service on a weekend lunch was frequent enough that it was not used. Guest Wi-Fi is available. Downtown has a couple of public parking lots within walking distance as street parking can be difficult to get."

I say near because I like my breading crispy and crunchy, basically unhealthy style. But Gangnam says noooo, you will be healthy and we will make it only slightly crispy with no grease or oil. So I'm like Ok Gangnam, whatever you say cuz I just love your tenders. Another thing, the chicken itself just LOOKS and TASTES sooooooo clean! Love it! And its Hot (temperature wise)! Love it! And they're not small starved chicken tenders either, they got some meat to them! That's pretty much it! I do wish they gave you an option for the side white sauce that comes with it, perhaps hotsauce instead?! It is "slightly" pricey for a 5 or 10pc, but for me its for sure worth it. If you want a solid healthy, super low carb meal with high quality protein, this is it! The 10pc or the 5pc will do the job. Count on it."

It's a relatively limited menu (though they've got some fun, colorful stuff) with a small seating area. Why the big five you ask...The meat!Stamp it, this place has the best roasted pork we've ever tasted! Crispy skin, roasted perfectly and with next level flavor...and they cut it up in front of you! We love markets in other countries as there's just something about pointing at roasted meat and them cutting it up with a huge knife! Such is the case here and thus our love of this gem of Chinatown!Roasted pork, BBQ pork, Chicken, Duck, and other magic animals blast their meat laden siren song first through the front window and then to your mouth as the crispy symphony sings with each bite! But seriously, the pork is good enough to take a couple pounds home. Sold by the pound, you get as much or as little as your little heart desires and should probably spring for an extra pound - you'll thank me later.
