the storefront of a convenience store

This place gets a lot of bad reviews. I would like to compliment them. The staff is friendly. The store is clean. They are very helpful. Are their homeless people around? Of course.... it's downtown Seattle. I lice in the neighborhood and haven't had any problems with them.

I love this family run market. They care about the community and have fresh produce and fresh goods year round. They really put a lot of work into getting the best products and it shows. Friendly, affordable and very good selection!

So besides having to walk through the typical Pioneer Square nighttime gauntlet of angry crackheads, aggressive panhandlers, and rather rude club goers, Saveway is definitely the best convenience store (/grocery) in the area. Great selection of...well, everything! If I'm in a pinch, I go here for cheese/dairy, tortilla chips, salsa and sauces, noodles, almonds, toilet paper, duct tape, Sharpie pens, fire alarm batteries...if it's at night especially, I would choose to walk here to see if they have what I happen to need before trekking out to my car and risking the Rainier QFC. Plus, extra super bonus: they have Code Red in 2 liter bottles AND Now and Laters (honestly, I've looked everywhere, for a store to have BOTH is, for me at least, a great find). It's a little pricey, but it's not some awful corporate chain and the family running it is great :) the other employees are also really friendly, and unlike 7-11 down the street, I have never once been ripped off in the three years since I moved into this area and started shopping here. These guys are great!

For a local mini mart these guys have saved me countless times! They have a great selection for random stuff I need at home, good cat litter (not the cheap stuff most mini marts have), a huge selection of food, granted its not grocery store food but a million times better than the 711 around the corner. I love the family that owns this store! It's a older couple with their two daughters and son and they don't take crap from anyone!Obviously be careful in this area after dark, locals lovingly refer to it as the Murder Mart or the Stab & Grab!

Ahh, Saveway. Or MurderMart, as we call it at work. It's just right THERE. It has all the random stuff we need for more than I'd like to pay, but with the convenience of being 40ish paces away. I always get my newspaper there (strictly for the crossword puzzle, of course), and the gal who's always working the counter is unfailingly nice. I don't see how she does it as the store is constantly swarming with crackheads, tweakers, and wasted old guys hoping to score some beer. I suppose working downtown you grow used to this -- like when a crazy guy threatened to kill me outside MurderMart, no biggie.Anyhow, Saveway has all kinds of random stuff in addition to your usual convenience store snacks. They have a hot case with some deep-fried edibles. They have socks and lighters. They have toothpaste and Tylenol (behind the counter, duh), Solo cups and car air fresheners, good beer and power bars. And no shortage of "colorful Pioneer Square life."I love thee, Saveway.

I work in Pioneer Square so this place is close by and I can always stop and get a La Croix or Red Bull when I'm in the mood. But mostly I only go in there cause one of the girls that works there has rad attitude and doesn't take shit from anyone.

A truly magnificent and friendly little store. They are always friendly despite the unsavory people that hang out outside the door. I'm talking about the drug using and drooling people that defecate on the sidewalk. They have a terrific selection and their prices are very very reasonable. They do not overcharge unlike their competitors in the Pioneer Square area. I would highly recommend this place..

I love this store. Mama, the matriarch and owner, is a badass B. They have a little bit of everything, alcohol, baking mixes, toilet paper..etc. P.s. it's lovingly known as "Murder Mart" by pioneer square locals, seriously ask anyone who lives around here and they're gonna know exactly where you're talking about.

Friendly neighborhood store with everything you might need from cleaning and household products, to snacks, drinks, wine, and even frozen meals. If you live around here, this place will be a miracle on days when getting to target or beyond just isn't in the plans.

Absolutely disgusted with this man. Our total was $45 before tax and he kept trying to say it was $60 then to add tax. We asked him to recount multiple times before he finally gave in and admitted he was over charging. Go to CVS instead.
