Savanna Restaurant

Walking on the way to do some grocery shopping, we noticed this place, and after looking over the menu, decided to check this place out for Brunch.From the outside it looks big with some outdoor seating. Inside there are two levels and a big main level and a smaller one upstairs. It looks diner-ish. The day we were there, the main level had no air conditioning so we went to the upper level. Not too crowded considering the main room was empty. They gave us a big menu with Latino breakfast items, some American breakfast stuff and burgers. I ordered the Chilaquiles with eggs over easy and my partner order the Salmon Benedict with potatoes. We had water to drink. After about 15 minutes, our food arrived and it looked OK. My Chilaquiles was just OK, I've had better versions everywhere I have ordered this. My partner said the Benedict was OK, the potatoes were not good. So overall, service was OK, the food not great, the atmosphere was OK. We will not run back here. If you pass by...keep walking.

Didn't realize this location was the old "Nookie's" location. Great service, excellent food and outdoor seating which was very much welcomed on a spring day. The menu had something for everyone and the plates that came out all looked amazing, well prepared and served to order! I will definitely be back to visit this Lakeview or other locations

I'll keep this short. Fast service, very good food and reasonable prices. My mote pillo (hominy and eggs) had great flavor and I loved the sauce (with the addition of a little cholula). The hubs got their Benedict trio which he was very happy with. He didn't love the potatoes but the meal was so large he didn't care. Very great place to stop for a quick and reasonably priced breakfast.

Came here because it's close to Wrigley and had good reviews. I had a Paloma, which wasn't my favorite. My crepes, potatoes and eggs were good. The potatoes were the best, seasoned well and tasted great. Either way the portions were filling and it was fairly priced. They have patio seating but not all have umbrellas so we sat inside. There was a whole back room so this place is spacious. Service was great, everyone was super nice.

Food was rather bland, but generous on the portions. Nice outdoor seating area, and staff were friendly. Would be worth giving it another chance, but there are lots of other options in the area

Can NOT say enough good about this place! EVERYTHING was fabulous!!! It started with my breakfast cocktail (an Ecuadorian Canelazo), of which I'd never heard of before. It was DELISH! A little too sweet for me until I squeezed the lime into it... I picked the Llapingachos Benedict because it was also something I'd never had before. And BOY, was it DELICIOUS!!! The chorizo was some of the best I'd ever tasted and the eggs were poached SO PERFECTLY! It was like ART on a plate... The service was GREAT and the restaurant was bright and airy. It was an overall WONDERFUL experience. Would NOT hesitate to come back!

Nice brunch spot thats easy to get a table. All of their food has great presentation and looks very good! Highly recommend the smoothies! The skillet and pancakes looked great and tasted alright. Staff constantly filled our waters and were attentive. Would come back though I would try something else on the menu.

Savanna Restaurant is a nice brunch spot in Lakeview. They have a massive menu so there is something for everybody if you want it. I enjoyed an El Mexicano skillet that was full of flavor and a large portion size. The one issue I had was that service could've been better. Once we got our food they left us alone and once we had finished eating it took forever for us to pay. I'm sure they would've liked having the open table, but they did not show it.

Since I've moved to Chicago, two years ago, this is the best brunch experience I've had. Large portions, friendly service, beautiful presentation, and delectable flavor. I order the pork carnitas benedict, and my bestie ordered the elote skillet (add pork), and we split an order of the Oreo pancakes. Must try brunch spot in Boystown, America.

We have been wanting to try this place. We walked in this morning and seated quickly. There was just another guy sitting at another table. Water and menu were provided. I ordered coffee and a crepe combo, and my partner ordered the French toast combo. The food was good, and the portion was good as well.Service not so much. I had to ask for coffee twice. Water was never refilled. It was not busy at all ( 2 tables) when we left but no service.
