stunning well balanced burrito

I have consumed thousands of animals in my lifetime: seen lambs butchered, snipped the faces off innumerable soft-shell crabs, killed and gutted my share of fish. I had, I thought, come to terms with the element of predation inherent in eating meat -- & this has to be some of the best food in California! Trust me

Junk! Junk! Junk! Stay away! Over priced junkie food! This place only caters to tourist in nearby hotels and it jacks up the price greatly! One carne asada burrito will cost you $13.95, 3 rolled tacos with rice and beans will run you $12.95. Super nachos cost $13.99 (of course they give you a 12 ounce soda...big deal).Tax is NOT included! If you have them deliver to you, throw on an extra $5.

I recently stayed at a hotel in the downtown San Diego area, and decided to "dine in" on my second evening. I had found a menu under my door that had Pizza Delivery on one side and Mexican Food on the other... a place called Sauce's Pizza. I figured I'd give it a shot... Instead, I wish I HAD been shot. This was, bar none, the worst pizza I have ever eaten in my life... The meat toppings were almost nonexistent, and the vegetable toppings tasted as though they had gone several days without refrigeration. The sauce was weak, and the cheese, fake. The crust was undercooked and had no flavor. I suspect that, had I eaten the box it came in, instead, I would have had a substantially better dining experience... I called to the front desk to complain, and they told me that they do NOT recommend this pizza delivery; the menus are shoved under the doors by what they call "Menu Ninjas", as apparently, none of them have ever asked permission to pass out their menus at the hotel. I tried looking them up on-line, and they do not appear to exist at all under the name Sauce's Pizza, the name on the menu; the phone number is a "private" land line through a cut rate phone company, and there appears to be NO street address. The whole thing seems very "fly by night". Regardless, I cannot recommend this pizza delivery, unless you are a masochist, and actually like hurting yourself. Do yourself a favor, and eat ANYWHERE else -- out of a dumpster would be preferable...

The previous review was entirely accurate. My wife and I were looking for a quick late night snack and we waited almost 2 hours for delivery. We ordered off their coupons they slid under our hotel room door. We ordered the Xlarge Specialty Pizza with a 2liter of soda. We chose the Mexican specialty pizza and this is what we received.4 cans of diet coke which is one can short of the equivalent of a 2 liter soda bottle. The extra large pizza is really about a 14' pizza and the toppings for their "Mexican" specialty pizza was pepperoni and jalepeno. It took so long for the delivery to arrive the pizza box was soaked through with grease, and the pizza box was completely generic. Poorly run business with even worse service. We were had!

This is not a proper restaurant but a scheme designed to defraud those who are visiting San Diego. Sauce's (and their fellow scammers Celena's Pizza) have no storefront and do not advertise locally. They target those who are going to be in town for a day or two through menus' slipped under doors. If you have been swindled as i have, do not just write a bad review. Do what i did, 1. File a complaint with the California BBB. This allows them to amass a record of complaints. 2. Complain to the motel you were staying at. Do not accept their excuses of 'nothing we can do'. They can either file a restraining order agains the restaurants, forbid them from entering the property, or WARN THEIR GUESTS!!! Either by word at checkin or by signs on the walls. This isn't about 'bad pizza'...it's about not allowing their guest to be ripped off by obvious scammers. I'm talking to you, Motel 6 Airport.

This place may also be known as CELENA'S PIZZA. My boyfriend and I were ripped off by these scammers!!! We found a flyer under our hotel room at the Vagabond Inn and thought it seemed like they would give you a lot for a good deal so after staying there 3 nights we decided to try them out. The flyer does not have a physical location and advertises that it offers FREE Local Delivery! What a joke. In fine print on the back it says *All + tax AFter 2pm Delivery charge Apply ($5.50) and it doesn't even open until 2PM!!! It also mentions not to call from your room phone and if you call from your cell you will get $2 off (I should have seen this as a warning). When I mentioned this on the phone somehow the guy started shouting, "Okay $21 fine!! even though it was should have been $15. When we got the food the "sausage" was ground beef sprinkled over a joke-of-a-pizza with no cheese! and the wings, don't get me started! And the brownie may as well have been the size of a matchbook! I called the owner after my boyfriend got suckered into paying $23.00 (and also had to pay a fee for using a debit card on a $22 purchase) and he hung up on me when I asked him where his store was located! We're now worried that he has our credit card number and the charge did not show as Celena's Pizza, but instead Sabrina's Pizza! This place is clearly being run out of someone's garage, does Not specialize in pizza and probably is not sanitary! We are not pennypinchers by any means and will splurge for a good meal when worth it but feel taken advantage of by a criminal.

Same story, found their flyer under the door of a hotel room. They told me their address is 2280 Main Street in Logan Heights (part of San Diego). The only thing google maps shows is a tow truck yard at that location. Anyways, there's a few places like this that are run in San Diego and target travelers with "special" prices. There's also a reason you have to call on your cell phone and not the hotel phone. These places are run under the radar of any local or state health inspections (e.g. in someone's garage). Don't expect cleanliness or quality with this company, food is sub-par and potentially dangerous for your health.
