Sarita's Mexican Food

Alright, I don't typically do reviews but the fact that they have 3.5 stars is a joke and I had to put this in.This place is EXCELLENT. I've ordered from them 10+ times over the past year and they are incredibly consistent EVERY time. Everything I've had has been on point. (California, carnitas burrito, tacos, quesadillas, guac, and their verde salsa is THE BEST out there.)These guys are fantastic, they even took the time to let you customize anything on their online stores (typically DoorDash from me) and I see no one doing this. They nail it every time.

This place was a huge miss, which was a bummer when we were just hoping for some decent late night (10 PM, nothing crazy!) quick Mexican food. I ordered a cheese quesadilla with guacamole, and what was delivered to me was the strangest thing I've ever gotten from a restaurant. I wish I had a photo but I was too busy being baffled to take one. First off, it was made on a giant tortilla that was then folded into thirds-ish, and bent over on the sides into a sort of layered rectangle? It was not cut at all, too big to unfold and hold, and when I tried to pull it apart it just sort of ripped unevenly so I had to eat it in its layers. My first bite had a mouthful of unmelted cheese, which wasn't great but I figured no big deal since it was towards the middle of the tortilla thing. Nope -- that was the only cheese in my entire cheese quesdilla. It was like. About a tablespoon in the one bite. I opened it up and there was no more. The rest was filled with mediocre guacamole, which was warm because it was clearly put in before cooking. Warm guac is not for me.I basically ate a soggy tortilla; luckily the green salsa helped redeem this with its good flavor. My partner also enjoyed his chicken burrito without any complaints, so two stars, but I feel like I'm being a little generous here.

Kinda sad because I really used to like this taco shop but the dude here in the front, his customer service is straight ass. When trying to call mind you was my teen daughter asking a question then hangs up and so I call back and he says no mini tacos bye... then proceeds to hang up. I'm like wth, I asked the question and was still trying to order something... Again, he hangs up. I call again and told him why do you keep hanging up, he says because we don't have mini tacos and I'm like okayyyy???? But I also wanted to order other items... tf... again he says okay okay well and hangs up... This point my blood boiling... Because even when I'm in the store he just has this attitude like damn... I'm sorry, are we inconveniencing you? I thought this was an establishment set up to take care of customers and make money? Literally no form of customer service, always rushing people or making others feel as if we are bothering him and overall sad because real talk used to be my fav. Taco shop... But this alone will make customers not want to BOTHER him... If the customer service sucks, I won't even bother and take my business elsewhere. Including my friends and family... I won't support a place that treats people like shit!!! Needs better service, training and overall compassion and empathy towards customers that SPEND MONEY there!!!

Burrito is a little pricey ($16), but definitely worth it and will feed two people if you want to share (big burrito). This burrito was generous with the shrimp and carne asada, not just fries like you get at other taco shops. The chipotle sauce that they use inside this burrito was the perfect combo and I enjoyed every bite. Service was excellent and ambiance is what you expect for a taco shop. One of the better burritos in San Diego and definitely recommend.

My favorite taco shop of all time! They have the best carne asada fries and chips, rolled tacos, California and carne asada burritos, and Sarita's fries and chips (surf and turf fries with chipotle sauce). This is my go-to taco shop for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and late-night cravings.I've done both take out and dine-in and can say the food has similar quality. The service consistent and the workers are polite. The tables are usually clean unless it's very busy then you might have to wait a bit to grab a clean table. They have both indoor and outdoor seating in case you have a preference. The overall vibe is like any other taco shop but the food is like no other.

Average Taco Shop Ordered the carne asada fries. Nothing special about them. Kind of lacked flavor. They definitely were nice with the amount of guacamole and sour cream they added. The staff were nice so can't complain. Plenty of seating and pretty good tasting salsas.

Wow! Hands down best fish taco I have had. The rolled tacos are delicious as well. Everything came out warm, fresh. And crispy. This place is always busy, but worth the wait. I try something new every time I am in town. Next time, the birria tacos!

Sarita's might not boast the fanciest ambiance or stellar reviews, but if you're a cabeza aficionado, this is your spot. The customer service is solid, and they don't hold back on the meat, especially when it comes to their tantalizing cabeza tacos and sopes. It's clear that their specialty shines through, making it a go-to destination for cabeza lovers.

I had loved this taco shop for more than a decade. I went recently and had a terrible experience. My son and I came in and ordered food to go. I ordered the California burrito, I think their's is one of the best and a cheese quesadilla. After 30 minutes of waiting and everyone who had ordered after me received their orders I went to ask about my order. The man behind the counter (who took my order) questioned me on my order and asked for my receipt for proof. I had been standing there near the counter for 30 minutes, he was just being rude. He said it would be 10 more minutes, which was crazy. Clearly they had forgotten my order. More people came in and received their orders. 15 minutes later, I received mine. I drove the 20 minutes home and opened my food and my Cali burrito was missing the sour cream and guac. It was tortilla, carne asada and cheese only. It was terrible and dry. I called the taco shop and the same mean man yelled at me and told me I needed to bring the burrito back. I told him I'm not driving 20 minutes back. I will send a picture of my burrito and I want a partial refund to my card. He told me if I didn't bring it back I get nothing. He kept yelling at me which was unacceptable. I hung up and went to Sarita's website and contacted them on there to which it's been 3 weeks and no reply. I will never visit this horrible taco shop again. They rip off their customers and don't even reply. What a waste of money. Apparently treating a customer terribly and and taking their money is their business, not providing food as stated on the menu and being somewhat courteous.

Hands down, some of the best Mexican food around town! Breakfast burritos are the bomb! One is enough for two meals!
