Sardina's Italian Restaurant & Bar

Food was delicious as usual. My sister and I had the Mussels and clams steamed (?) in garlic wine sauce. They give you warm buttered bread to sop up the yummy sauce. We also had Calamari strips which were perfectly cooked not tough at all and with a thin breading coat which was crispy while the calamari was tender. We had a pomegranate martini and a lemoncello martini. I didn't love the lemoncello, so I asked her if they could please add pomegranate, which she did with a smile. The pomegranate martini was great, refreshing. We had ordered a 4 item pizza, but because we were stuffed, we only ate one small slice each. The pizza was very good with a good balance of cheese, crust and toppings. Our server brought us a pizza box to take our delish pizza home. Monica our waitress was terrific! Patient, energetic, helpful and friendly. The ambience is that of a neighborhood Italian restaurant and bar. Low-key, casual, and very comfy. Clean, good, honest food just like home cooked but better and no dishes!. Highly recommended.

We ordered Angel hair with shrimp. Lasagna, chicken parmigiana calzone and a ceasar salad. Angel hair and salad were ok. Salad was over dressed. The real low point was the red sauce that was inside the calzone and all over the lasagna. I was expecting a reasonably light and fresh red sauce and instead we got an over reduced ragu. It was thick and acidic and pungent. There were even flakes of black stuff that looked like it burnt to the bottom of the pot and then got stirred back into the sauce. Made both dishes almost inedible. Food was carry out and didn't bother bringing it back. Not sure if it was just the day or it's like that all the time but I hope the owner reads this and tries to dial it in. I want to like this place.

I only write good reviews, but not this time. This was the choice for lunch of a young friend of mine who happens to have special challenges. The waiter who "greeted " us and our hostess acted; indifferent, dismissive, and borderline rude to us the whole meal. They never cleared our soup dishes, even though our table was cramped. Nobody ever checked on us, and we had to flag down our waitress whenever we needed an item. I had a knot in my stomach by the time we left. Their food's OK, but I felt so bad for my friend who faced poor treatment and lousy service, seemingly because of how he looked, and he didn't even know it. Now I just found out that the $20.00 tip I left, "somehow" got recorded as $42.57 (85%), and my credit card company told me I have to resolve this with the restaurant because I didn't keep my receipt. You know, it's worth it being cheated by this joint, because I don't have to bring my friend there ever again. Their food is fairly decent, unless you've eaten good Italian food before. The food and wine were reasonably priced. The calamari strips were perfectly cooked... crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. My husband loved his meat lover calzone. Our grandkids got plain pasta, build your own calzone, spaghetti, and meatballs... they loved their meals. I got the seafood linguini. Unfortunately, the shrimp were way overcooked and dry. The pasta was very bland. My minestrone soup was also very bland. The mussels and clams were good. The kids loved the cannoli, and every one of us except 1 said we would go back again. Our son said it was mediocre and would want to try for something better. There were 8 of us, so it's hard to please everyone.All in all, it was a great dinner, and we have some picky grandkids. The service was excellent!!!

Sardina's forced my party to sit outdoors last Sunday night (12-3-2023) even though it was freezing because I had my service dog. It was so cold, my service dog couldn't lay on the cold patio cement ground.My service dog was wearing her "Service Dog" harness. She is very small. Just 12 pounds. I did not bring a blanket for her as I was not planning on sitting outide.I informed the hostess that the law was being violated and that I was an attorney. Gave her my business card to give to the manager as I am willing to provide a free training on the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) as it applies to the right of a disabled person with a service dog to be seated inside of a restaurant.

We've been here for a few times over the past couple years (mostly for takeout), and it's been consistently good. The decor inside is very nice and the servers are quick and friendly (although last time they seemed really busy and it took awhile to flag someone down to refill our waters). When we came for an early dinner at 5:30 pm on a Sunday the restaurant was surprisingly packed, it seemed like a lot of locals. It was also hard to find parking and we ended up going to the additional parking section down an alley (the area and walk to the restaurant was dark, which made it a little creepy). Food quality-wise it's more like 3.5 stars..the taste of everything I've tried is on the blander side and the pasta tends to be a bit overcooked for me. However the portions are always huge and the prices are very reasonable. I usually get the angel hair pasta with shrimp; the pastas also come with a pretty big portion of either soup or salad. We also tried the seafood fettucine which was good, it came with a lot of sauce but was lacking in seafood flavor. Overall though I recommend this restaurant.

How this place does NOT have 5 stars across the board IDK??? The atmosphere is always CLEAN!! Service is impressive!! & the value is insane!! Today I had anchovies, & fresh garlic rolls, chicken Parm & penne, & a calzone!! The family is ALWAYS so nice, & welcoming!! Old school Italian at its finest!!!!$

We visited today for the first time in many years. Our server was Gabby who was warm and friendly. We had the calamari and fried zucchini appetizers. I had the half and half cheese and beef ravioli. I preferred the cheese, but the beef wasn't bad. Hubby had a tuna melt (paired with a glass of pinot grigio) with garlic fries and said it was amazing. We brought home a slice of the lemon cake to share-it was divine! We will definitely be back. Parking was easy, the restaurant was clean and although we sat near the kitchen it was a very pleasant experience. It appeared that there were a lot of regulars coming in for a drink at the bar. Good times!

We have been coming to Sardina's for years. Tonight was another pre USD basketball game dinner. Our waitress Gabby was fabulous and took great care of us. The place was really busy as it was a Saturday night. Their house Chianti is our go to. My husband had the meatball calzone. It was huge. Certainly shareable but we love leftovers so it was okay that he only ate half. My favorite dish there is their Veal or chicken Marsala. I went with the veal and it was so delicious. I get the pasta with the Marsala sauce only, no red sauce. I want to enjoy just the wonderful flavor of the mushrooms and sauce with the Marsala wine. I took half of mine home too. The prices are really reasonable and portions are generous. They have a great Happy Hour even on Saturdays.

I've been coming to Sardinas for a few years and decided to host my baby shower of 40guests this past weekend. Wendy helped me schedule the most memorable lunch menu and upon arrival the patio was set up perfectly for my event. I was also able to setup decorations with plenty of time which was really nice. I got soooo many compliments on the menu!! We had calamari as an appetizer, salad with bread and 3 entrees. The lasagna was the star of the show no doubt. I can't wait to host many more events here, such a gem!!
