Lettuce begin. Five hungry friends met at 5:30 for our 18th weekly dinner out in Edmonds. Decor is brown. Clean. Noise level, hard to hear person next or across from me. Service by Alex very good. Back to the lettuce. I imagine staff in kitchen shredding lettuce for hours and hours. I dreamt about lettuce. My Avocado Tosatada had lettuce, a bit of cheese, tomato and sour cream. Underneath there was some chicken, beans & tortilla $16.99. Did I mention the fresh lettuce.

Passed thru Edmonds today with family for a Whale tour and to stroll the shops, and enjoyed a late lunch at Santa Fe. Excellent lunch, chimichanga, taco salads, etc. chips and salsa were good and service was top notch. Music was a little loud, but might be said to just have added to the festive ambiance. Santa Fe Mexican Grill & Cantina is recommended!

Not sure about the food. Prices are outrageous - $17.99 for a quesadilla? Same for tortilla soup? Tacos $25-27?? The level of food does not equal the prices they are asking. It's your typical Mexican restaurant- large plates full of rice and beans (cost Pennie's on the dollar). Would recommend other local places before spending your paycheck here. Check out Matador for a comparison. Higher quality- more contemporary menuing.

Pretty good Americanized Mexican food. My family comes here a lot so I'm turned I've been here a few times. The waiters are always nice and the food is always good, just a little off or delivered at different times.I appreciate the separate vegan and vegetarian section which has plenty of options. I personally prefer fajitas so that's always what I order. Their veggie fajitas comes with broccoli, carrots and mushrooms so I always ask for no mushroom and more peppers, less broccoli and carrots. The menu says it comes with beans, rice, lettuce, pico de gallo and guacamole. I asked for no rice but extra beans, which they did get the no rice correct, just not extra beans. The fajitas plate also doesn't come with pico de gallo like the menu says. The tortillas came out about five minutes after the rest of the meal so it was a bit slower while others started. W

I hate to leave a negative review - but the fajita salad was inedible. Everything had a slightly fishy flavor to it. Portion was giant but couldn't eat it. Tons of shredded lettuce and enormous tortilla bowl. People are friendly, location is great, ambiance is meh. Can't recommend the food.

Food: 5/5 To start you off, their tortillas and salsa are both excellent. Tortillas are cut thin and so crunchy, not too salty just enough and the salsa as well-it simple and perfectly seasoned. We had a couple of drinks: I had the spicy mango margarita and it was delicious as well. It had just enough alcohol to make me smile and it was a huge serving. The other, husband had the Old school Oaxacan cocktail-also very nice. I recommend both cocktails and we were told they are both popular here.I ordered the Carne asada taco plate and omg, it was huge. It's as wide as my hips. Kidd you not. I could barely lift the plate. Anyway, it is also5/5. Packed with flavors and SO tender. I wish they gave more meat tho. Then, husband ordered their carne asada burrito for take out.All in all, it was all good. Staff is very nice and attentive. They made sure we were having a nice time and experience trying their food for the very first time.Reasonable menu and the ambiance was in the dark side but it works out. It is very loud and very full on a Saturday night. This is located in downtown of Edmonds. It's a nice place for family as well as meeting people and so on and so on. Oooh it was packed! Cool place and not to miss especially if you're down for Mexican food.

Met a couple of friends here and we all had a decent time. The food was pretty average. The mole enchiladas were fine and thankfully not too chocolately. The vegetarian burrito wasn't particularly seasoned and didn't have a lot of flavor - perhaps requesting a verde sauce on it would have gone over better. The other two meat dishes our friends got went over well enough, though it was nothing to keep them coming back.On the plus side, the staff were attentive, the drinks were good, and the atmosphere was relaxed.

Walked around Edmonds downtown, which is a pretty cool place with lots of restaurants. Finally, we decided on Safe Fe. Sat in the bar area along the windows so I could people watch outside. Lots of to go orders! The sign outside with the rib-eye fajitas is what got us in the door, but with so many options ended up with the Mat Y Tierra. The carne asada was grilled perfectly, not over done which is easy to do. There were 4-5 large shrimp with mushrooms in a white wine sauce. Lots of beans and rice along with the tortillas. The server recommended the Oaxaca Old Fashioned and by far this is my new favorite version. Made with mescal, it was very smooth and the flavor was not over powering. Great for sipping and paired well with the meal.

Best Mexican food in Edmonds. The service can be a bIt slow but the food and drinks are well worth it. I went to El Puerto religiously growing up in Edmonds and this place is a worthy successor. Try the ribeye fajitas or the mar y tiera plate for some really good eats. Great ambiance if you want to watch a game in the bar too. Love this place.
