Been here twice now since it's close by to my friends' house. They raved about the fish katsu for months during the pandemic since they often ran out of supplies.Since then, I've tried both their Fish Katsu and their Cheesekatsu (Pork). The Fish Katsu did not live up to the hype, it tasted like what you would expect of battered fish - maybe I was expecting to unlock a whole new palette taste. I LOVE the Cheesekatsu! Rich and wide range of flavor and cheesy goodness, especially if you dip it in the katsu sauce. I would say the cheese and sauce might mask the taste of pork since they are both really strong flavors but the whole combination of the meal was to my delight.

Been eating here for YEARS and it still hits every single time. It's definitely a solid katsu place. Portions are great, they do not skimp on the meat and breading is perfect. You crush sesame seeds that go perfectly with their katsu sauce before your food is brought out. The curry is decent here as well if you prefer. Love how their menu can come with a combo of your choice of noodles of sushi, such a great deal. Delicious food for a decent price and great service, never really had a bad experience here. HIGHLY recommend this place as to be honest, pretty sure this place is a lot of people's go-to katsu spot.

i ordered the chicken katsu and it was really fresh! the chicken was soft and tender without being too dry. the breading was also crispy to my liking. it was served with some crunchy radish kimchi and jangajji, as well as a cabbage salad topped with a tangy sesame dressing. it was about $17 for this meal, but they have pretty large portion sizes that very well satisfied me.we got there around 12:30pm and we were able to get a seat immediately for a party of 6, but the place started to get busy around 1pm so i suggest going early if you have a large party. service was decent, didn't have any troubleoverall, i would definitely come back to try their other items!

Yoko is hands down one of my favorite spots for katsu! The service here is always friendly and attentive, making every visit a pleasure. The parking is ample, and while the restaurant is cozy, it never feels crowded. My go-to order is the chicken katsu set with soba. The chicken is perfectly crispy and juicy with just the right amount of crunch. I also love the little shrimp tempura and the potato ball that comes with the meal. The pork katsu set with soba is another must-try, offering a rich and flavorful twist. You truly can't go wrong here because everything is delicious!

decent place to get donkatsu, just not my favorite. i did like grinding the sesame for the sauce, but i wasn't a huge fan of the katsu itself. the texture isn't crispy and light, and the meat is not tender. the curry was very light in color and was too starchy. just my preferences!the service was attentive! the interior is small but there's lots of seating. be prepared to wait on the weekends. there's a parking lot, but it gets crowded on weekend nights.

first time hereplenty of parkingrestaurant is in the corner of the plazaordered the chicken katsu combo and the pork cheese combo both were good, quantity was fulfilling, the side were better to have then without themthe udon and crunchy roll were goodudon hit the spot because when you have a lot of dried fried food, the udon helps push it down your stomach and smoothes it out with its warm umami flavor, the miso was so plain compared to the udon, must have the udonpork cheese katsu was good but if you ate too much of it, you may get too overwhelmed, it does have kimchi in the centerthe chicken katsu was good, but the katsu sauce was not in sync with the katsu because the sauce flavor was more acidic, more like vinaigrette with bbq sauce than the traditional warm, settle, thick, non burning throat sauce (if you have a lot), be advised. the dipping sauce makes a difference, just didnt feel it was up to par with the katsu imoI enjoyed the udon the most from the entire dish

Yoko not go wrong with this spot! The outside and inside of this restaurant honestly don't seem that exciting. The menu is small, and there's not a ton of options. BUT, Yoko has made me like katsu way more than ever I did. Honestly, I wasn't a fan of katsu since most katsu I've had tend to be dry and hard, but Yoko makes really juicy and tender katsu with breading that doesn't rip up the roof of my mouth or tire out my jaw.The few times I've been, there is a wait outside the restaurant to go in. Max time I've waited was about 20 min. Note: it is a very small restaurant, probably seating 25 people max. However, once you go in, it's pretty fast! Servers seat, hand you menus and take your order shortly thereafter. Again, the menu is short but mighty. I don't think you can go wrong with any menu item though. The fun part about Yoko is crushing the sesame seeds for the katsu sauce while you wait for your food. They hand you a mortar and pestle to crush up seeds, and then they pour the katsu sauce over that when you finish crushing them. And as you can see, you get a TON of food for the price! Love the salad and miso soup that their katsu comes with. So with all that said, I recommend you "curry" on over to Yoko! You won't regret it!

This is the second time I've been to Yoko and it was delicious as usual! Most people come here to try the katsu, which in my opinion, is better than other places because of the crispiness of the katsu without the extra grease! The space isn't too big so if you do want to try Yoko, highly recommend getting there earlier than later. The staff is kind. The day we went, their rice machine broke down earlier in the day but they were super apologetic and efficient with getting a batch out to us as soon as they could. The only sad part is they used to give a potato croquette with the meal and that's no longer a thing.

Got to stop by YOKO last night for dinner! We went on a Monday night around 7:10 pm. The dining space isn't too big and was mostly filled but they were still able to seat and serve us right away! It was nice that they were open for MLK day as other places were closed for the holiday. I got to try their new Kimchi cheese Katsu and my friend got their Katsu + udon combo! The CHEESEPULL was so good! And to my surprise, it didn't get cold and hard like other places tend to but the Katsu was warm enough that even when I came to my last bite, the cheese was still soft. Mine also came with a side of miso soup which was a nice balance with the fried katsu. There were also two sides of pickled honchon and they gave lots of cabbage as well. I tried my friend's combo and they give good portions of a full serving of katsu and udon--what a deal! The udon broth was perfect, and I loved all the toppings it came with; shows that they can do udon as well as they do their katsu! We also love that they give a little mortar and pestle to grind up sesame seeds (I think) for extra flavor when they pour in katsu sauce! Love Yoko and keeping this one as a regular favorite. Service was kind, quick, and efficient ... so fast I didn't need to use the bathroom!

Our family visited last weekend as we were craving for katsu (just came back from a trip to Japan). The restaurant was very small, like a hole in a wall, with friendly staff, but the overall experience was somewhat lackluster. We needed to wait for a bit but since it was a Saturday evening and the place was small, the wait was understandable. The pork katsu itself was average--crunchy and well-cooked, but it lacked that wow factor that sets great katsu apart. The meat was tender and lean, but it was a little underwhelming as we personally prefer the juicy and moist pork cut, wished they had that option for the pork. The accompanying sauce was good and it helped elevate the katsu, and we loved that we got to grind the sesame seeds ourselves. The sides were pretty standard: a mound of cabbage with the typical dressing, and a miso soup that, while warm and comforting, didn't stand out in flavor. All in all, Yoko offers a decent meal if you're craving katsu, but don't expect to be blown away. It's a solid choice for a casual bite (especially if you go during off-peak hours). For us, Kagura in Torrance would still be the best katsu restaurant, but since that is a bit of a drive for us, this can satisfy that craving.
