The redeeming thing about tonight is the company of friends I was with and that the manager refunded a portion of our money because they forgot to give us our order of chicken wings. Apparently, there was a misunderstanding because they saw two orders of wings on the table (that belonged to our two friends) and only served us our garlic knots without our order of wings. They did not check or collect the numbers assigned to the separate orders and just assumed we received all the wings we had ordered. Our friends waited patiently for our food to arrive before starting to eat, but it took so long that their two orders of wings were cold after they finally brought out ours. The wings were just okay in my opinion - hot and charred when they did finally arrived. The manager politely apologized for the hour we were waiting and refunded us for the wings. She asked us if we needed ranch and we said yes, but the dressing never came, so we ended up using our friends' ranch. The garlic knots were definitely better than the wings, but be aware they were the size of pretzel bites. The restaurant was noticably busy tonight with a lot of dine-in and take-out orders and inexperienced staff members contributed to our less than great experience. If you prefer a quieter meal, I don't suggest trying the restaurant on a busy weekend or during a television sports event.

DISCLAIMER: It really pains me to leave such a negative review as I just don't like to leave negative reviews, but I also feel like it's a disservice to potential patrons if I am not honest about how bad the food here was. We've been big fans of Wise Guys for a while but had not visited in quite a few months because we are currently on a health journey which unfortunately hasn't included pizza and knots. Upon the urging of my Bonus kid, with his rave reviews of having eaten here on his weekends with his mom and the food being so good, we decided to throw the healthy diet out the window for the night to enjoy the Dodgers vs Yankees Game 1 series with some pizza and knots. First off, we called to place our order around 3:45 pm on a Friday and were told it would take 40 minutes for pick up. We were totally good with that and ordered our standard: garden salad with ranch, large order of garlic knots and a medium pepperoni pizza with a drizzle of hot honey. We picked up our order 35 minutes later and it was ready. So clearly the 40 minute quote was not accurate which is fine by us. Upon getting home with our order and anticipating the hot, tasty knots we had not had in a while, we noticed that our box of large knots was only like a 1/3 of the way full. Again, we didn't really care and just thought maybe the Universe is doing us a favor and providing some portion control. First knot we had though, was so disappointing. They were cold, and hard. Almost tasted like they were old knots that had been sitting around all day, or reheated ones from the day before. They had no flavor, literally felt like I was chewing on cardboard. There was barely any butter, garlic or Parmesan cheese on any of them. Needless to say, we were super bummed that the knots we had loved previously did not live up to our fond memory of them. Next we decided that maybe the pizza would make up for the lack of taste of the knots. We dug in before it got cold. Unfortunately for us, the pizza was already cold and tasted like it had been sitting around for quite some time. The crust was hard, not crunchy, not crisp, but just hard and flavorless. While their pizza is always greasy, in the past, the crust has always had some crispness on the outside with a satisfying doughy inside and the greasiness could be overlooked. Not this time. It was just greasy pepperoni and sauce on some tasteless day old crust. After the pizza and knots fiasco, I thought the salad would likely be fine as it's something that's pretty hard to mess up, especially with Wise guy's delicious ranch dressing that we all love. Well, joke was on us because while their garden salad was decent, the ranch was super runny and just average at best. Overall, this was the most mediocre cheat meal I have had in a long time. We will not be returning anytime soon. I could list at least 5 other lower cost pizza places I would rather get a cheat meal from. So save yourself some money and save your tastebuds and just avoid this spot. Sad that it has gone from being one of our top 3 spots to somewhere I really don't ever care to visit again.Knots ~ 1/5Pizza ~ 1/5Salad ~ 2.5/5Service ~ 2/5Cheat Meal Quality ~ 0/5

So good, I've been coming here for years. Such fresh food. Pizza is great, lasagna is next level, rotating beers represent the best of California. Highly recommend. We come here with the kids all the time. The staff is so nice- despite being absolutely slammed. Great local spot.

Came in on a Friday around 4pm and it was PACKED but we were able to snag seats at the bar area. The food: GOOD!We tried the garlic knots and killed them before our pizza came out. We got the large order because with the price difference it made the most sense. Our pizza was a pepperoni with bacon. Simple but so good. My bf had a calzone with all kinds of veggies and he was very happy with his order. Pizza Cookie with Vanilla ice cream to go: Cookie was burnt- probably wouldn't try that again.Service: our server was kinda lame. Young guy with longish hair. He had a "I don't want to be here" attitude with us and everyone else who would approach him for drinks. Anyone else who wasn't our server had a good outgoing attitude.

I have mixed feelings about this place. Is this restaurant super cool looking inside? Absolutely! Could this make a great date night? Also yes. The entire interior is so wonderful and has such a warm vibe. The staff is so incredible and super friendly! So why the lower rating? Well a few reasons. Firstly, the amount of time it took to make my pizza. I walked in an ordered. I was told it was going to be 30-40 minutes for a pizza. The restaurant wasn't crowded and that is a wildly high time for just a simple pizza. Secondly, the taste and quality of the pizza. Is this a bad pizza? No. However will it blow you away? Also no. Go here if you want a mediocre pizza but amazing restaurant vibes. The pizza is also VERY heavy. I did learn after I ordered that they have a thin crust pizza. I do want to go back to try that version to see if I will like it better. Overall I'd go back for a fun date night and just to enjoy the vibes of this restaurant.

Although I'm a millennial I'll use a Gen Z phrase and describe my experience as "mid" We've ventured to this location a few times after a trip to Irvine railroad. It's about five minutes away and a good option if you don't want the fries, burger and quesadilla options at the park. It tends to be pretty busy every time we go but there's the option for takeout or dine in which is nice. As far as ambiance is concerned it kind of reminds me of a sports bar meets mom and pop pizza parlor. There are TVs, bench seating, a bar and seating outside Service is okay, they bring your pizza and drinks out which is nice. Nothing spectacular but also not complaining since it's not a formal sit down joint. Now onto food...my family has enjoyed the pizza on a few occasions, plenty of options for preselected choices (vegetarian, meaty, white sauce, red sauce, you name it). You also have the option to pay per topping. If memory serves me right, prices are a little steep per topping ($2.50 I think?) They do offer a gluten free option which is where I need to shift directions of this review. I do not have a gluten allergy, but an intolerance to it and my autoimmune disorder can flare up when consuming gluten. We paid for the gluten free crust, and was brought out a standard pizza on a standard crust. I was a little surprised but brought it up to the man who took my order and he took it back to the kitchen. I wondered about the possibility of someone who had an allergy not noticing and just trusting the crust was cauliflower as advertised and what outcomes could have presented themselves. In general wait times can be long for pizza, averaging about 30 mins. We waited said 30-35 minutes for the two pizzas, and then after this snafu was told it'd be another ten minutes. Fine, whatever. But I ended up waiting another close to 20 minutes for my remake. And I have included photos of what I waited nearly an hour to eat.The pizza was burned. Literally. And it was still brought out for my consumption. I was honestly taken aback like "wow, they're comfortable serving this?". It honestly would have went way better if they acknowledged it and said you know, we are sorry for the inconvenience and this does not meet our standards and offered something else. Maybe it was an off day but my husband was also quite disappointed in his pizza. Kids were happy though! PS I'll end this by emphasizing that collectively this experience was mid. Pizza was definitely the opposite of bussin'

We are rarely on this side of town but when we are we love to stop at wise guys. Service is always fast and friendly, the pizza is delicious!!! The crust is perfectly crisp and soft and chewy. I love their queen margherita but even just a plain cheese is delicious! My little guy loves the spaghetti marinara, and never skips his scoop of ice cream (comes with the kids meal!). They have plenty of TVs if you are looking to watch a game. We will continue to come when nearby!
