LUNCH SPECIAL. I work in the area and decided I wanted Hawaiian food. Ono and L&L are way too far to make it back to work on time so I chose Waikiki. Kind of a sad looking place, no music, no people, dim lighting, but the lunch special is pretty decent considering how expensive everything in the area is. The chicken katsu lunch special is around 10 bucks after tax and comes with a scoop of mac and rice. You get a whole filet of katsu chicken. The chicken was tender and exterior crispy.

Great lunch specials! The BBQ chicken lunch special is my go-to!!! Prices are very fair. Be prepared to wait a little while for your food to be ready. You can always call your order in ahead of time so it's ready when you get there. They do have sriracha (available upon request). Tables are always clean. There is a lot of seating available.

I toggled back and forth between 3 stars and 4 stars (I wish there was a half star) but I'm going with 3 because although there was only one thing that wasn't great, it's one pretty important thing... the meat (chicken) and veggies in my bowl was not hot. I wouldn't even say it was fully warm. There was definitely warm spots but there were also cool (almost cold) spots. When the food isn't hot it always makes me wonder how long it's been sitting out AND how long it's been sitting out at the incorrect temperature.I took a couple of bites (from the bottom which was closest to the rice, which was hot) and will say the taste was great, I'd definitely go back and give it another try. The service was also very friendly and quick.

My 1st time having their food today. My friends catered with them for their child's party. Today's order: 2 trays of white rice, 1 tray of Hawaiian macaroni salad and a half tray of BBQ beef.Firstly, I appreciated the aloha spirit. The staff was warm and welcoming.Their service/order was prompt. The rice was nice and fluffy and tasty. Yes, you can get bad rice. The Mac salad had enough mayo and sweet balance. Lastly, the beef had good flavor but was tough. The sauce came on the side. That was a pain TBH. Suggestion to the business: consider mixing the sauce in. Read the reviews, was almost afraid to eat here. BUT...my review is positive and everything was great. Lighting, staff, food... No complaints. Three of us were happy and enjoyed our food. Staff was friendly. Place was NOT dark, and place was clean. So people, if you want classic Hawaiian plate items like BBQ beef, chicken, seafood, rice and macaroni salad, then try them out and ignore some of these negative reviews from pissy customers.

Delicious every single time I go! Food is always made in a timely fashion and priced well considering the good size serving portions. Restaurant is always clean enough and food is of decent quality!

Went it with my girl right now to eat & she went to buy a coke with my card & a cook complimented her about her stizzy lanyard... Learn how to work, train your employees & not hit on another dudes girl. Ima get you fired

Catering menu is overpriced. I know food cost has gone up, but $90 for 1/2 tray of chicken thighs over some cabbage is crazy. And, the same with the shrimp fried rice. It's just some shrimp on top of fried rice. All the best to you.

I had the lunch special great portion, mac salad was runny, chicken katsu was over cooked not very flavorful, the spam musibi was pretty good.
