Looking for vegan Mexican food? Look no further! This location is tucked away on Harbor Blvd. with friendly staff and outdoor seating only. It's a smaller space but serving great flavorful options! On this particular weekend, they paired with a vegan pastry vendor and were selling vegan conchas out front. Inside, they were selling vegan cookies next to the cash register (in case you have a sweet tooth). They have a small section where they are selling merch like shirts, candles and more. As far as food goes, you can choose between a variety of taco flavors, mix and match them on a taco plate with rice and beans. There's also burritos, nachos, etc. Definitely a must-try if you're in the area and looking to check out a new vegan place!

We need more vegan Mexican taqueria!I ordered 3 tacos. All 3 had the toppings, sauce and flavor of the real meat items. Except for the protein texture which is what differentiates from the others.Fish taco ($5.25) - portobello mushroomAsada taco ($5.25) - soy and wheatCarnitas taco ($5.25) - king oyster mushroomMy least favorite was the carnitas because it was very chewy. I prefer soy protein over mushrooms.I also go horchata latte with a shot of espresso. Thankful to this because it kept me up to drive home to San Diego. At first, I thought we drove into the wrong plaza because there was no signage except for on the windows. Look for the end shop next to the pho restaurant.I called in to place my order and it was ready in a heated storage box when I arrived. You get a discount I'd you pay with cash.

This is a small shop tucked into a tiny strip mall with a weird parking lot. There are only two tables, and I had originally planned to eat in but changed my mind once I saw that the vibe was more takeout.I ordered the al pastor torta, which was just okay--the al pastor had a strange flavor that wasn't for me. Honestly, an al pastor tofu might pair better with the seasoning since it was overpowering. On the other hand, the carne asada burrito was actually pretty tasty, mostly because the beans were really good.At about $20 per item (with tax and tip), the price was a bit of a shock, but I still want to support this unique business. That said, the cashier could use some customer service training. When there's only one person at the front and prices are on the higher side, the service should be friendly and welcoming. Instead, she looked like she didn't want to be there and seemed annoyed when I asked a question.Might come back... not sure yet.

Cute little strip mall taqueria with a charming outdoor patio. It was chilly so we sat at one of the two inside tables after ordering at the counter. We got 4 tacos total, 2 on a taco plate (with twice and beans) and 2 separately. We got asada, chicken, potato, and fish. Also, an order of chips and guac. Our favorite was the fish taco which was a super crispy battered portobello mushroom. The guac was just ok, but it helped add some flavor to the tacos (along with the accompanying salsa). The rice and beans were a flavorful way to round out the meal.

I personally did not really like the tacos here. I wasn't a huge fan of the flavor and did not think they replicated the texture of meat very well. For the al pastor taco, I thought something was a little off with the flavor. The carnitas tacos just tasted very strongly of mushroom and did not taste nor have the texture of carnitas at all. For the chicken taco, the flavor was alright, but the "meat" was very dry. I only had a bite of the asada and chorizo tacos that my friend ordered, but I wasn't that impressed with them either. I thought they were better than the other tacos I tried in terms of flavor and texture, but I do think they could be done better. In terms of service, the cashier was friendly, and the food came out pretty quick. There is limited seating inside, and the some of tables were dirty when we tried to pick a place a sit. Overall, I was not very impressed with the tacos here, but maybe I just ordered wrong or came on an off day.

Absolutely blown away by the vegan tacos at Vegan by El Zamorano! Came by for Taco Tuesday (2 tacos for $7.00), and we tried the Al Pastor, Carnitas, Fish (battered portobello mushroom), and Crispy Potato tacos. Each one was packed with incredible flavor! We also got chips and guac to snack on, and everything was so fresh. The taqueria has a good-sized outdoor patio with shaded seating, perfect for relaxing. There are just a few seats inside, but parking was super easy. The service was quick and friendly. We'll definitely be back for Taco Tuesday and to explore more of their menu!

I have loved Vegan by El Zamorano since it was a pop up! I love getting the tacos, each with a different protein. The quesadilla is great too. Easy parking and outdoor seating is available. This is a great place to go for vegans and non vegans!

Hit and miss with flavors. There are some that I love, there are some that are not my fave. However, it's definitely a nice spot to check out. Whether you're vegan or not (I'm not) it's a nice ma and pa spot that feels very homey and inviting. It's very very small inside but there is a patio connected that is colorful and has plenty of room to dine in. Cauliflower was my fave and I got the plate with side of rice and beans.

Hands down our family's favorite restaurant in the OC. The Cali burrito is fantastic but you can't go wrong with anything here. We also love the "cheese" quesadilla (delish for kids too). If we won the lotto we would eat here every day :)Thank you for showing everyone that Mexican food tastes even better vegan!!!
