Vault Bar and Grill

This neighborhood bar has a fantastic corner location. There are pool tables here, and a full bar. Clean decor and great bartenders here. The food menu is somewhat limited (they had a salad on the menu that they said they actually won't start serving until next month), but everyone seemed to be ordering the wings. I had the burger, and it was fantastic. The drinks were even better. This is a place to explore with the bartender - they have very fresh fruits, and herbs, and bitters, and try to make a new cocktail that appeals to your tastes.

The Thursday before thanksgiving, me and 2 friends decided to go to the Vault Bar and Grill for Karaoke. We walked in around 11pm, and noticed no security was checking ID, so we just walked in and up to the bar to order a drink.The security guard greeted us at the bar, and told us that they were short staffed so he would be pouring our drinks (cool, I totally get it, fine by me) Then a female bartender charged us for the drinksI left a cash tip, so I put 0.00 on the receipt when I paid with my debit card, only to find that someone had written in 30.00 for the tip, my total coming out to be 40$ for 1 draft beer.I called the bar, but never received a call back after leaving a voicemail and my number. That ain't right, they definitely didn't do ANYTHING to deserve a 30$ tip on top of 30% cash tip of $3.I learned my lesson and will not be returning, and on top of that, will be forced to write $0.00 as tight as possible as to avoid scrutiny. Thanks for the experience! Everything else was ok, except that you have to practically bribe the karaoke to play your songs in a timely manner, but that's the karaoke being shady, not the bars fault Either way, shady characters all around2 stars cause otherwise the facilities are ok

Came in here a couple times with my girl. It was okay drinks weren't bad, staff was kind of not checked in but it was fairly slow so we'd get our drinks eventually. But then one time we came in and were only there for like two hours and somehow my card had gotten stolen from behind the bar. I waited like 15 min while they reviewed the tapes to find it and just told me they were sorry and couldn't see anything and in that time I can see someone had charged over $100 at a gas station with my card. Didn't think much of it until I saw the other reviews of peoples phones getting taken etc. I'd stear beat of this place to be safe if I were you

This "new" spot sucks. Only 2 bartenders were nice after we greeted them first. Everyone will give you a look if you're not one of their local paisas chilling in the corner. Sit by the kitchen and you'll get that sewer smell right up your nose. It's like a more chill version of Next Round bar down the street (also ghetto). The owner is someone to laugh at too

They are open, finally! A new, great addition to DTSA! We have always walked past this bar before they opened and have patiently waited for them to open. And patiemce truly paid off. Our new fave bar in DTSA!Lots of great draft selection and they have my fave Cali Squeeze +mango cart on draft, add some chamoy on the rim and it's the perfect Cali drink! They also have a full bar!Food was *chef's kiss*! The burger was juicy and perfectly cooked, along with the parm fries that is not yo regular cut fries. And that spicy honey sauce?! I would literally bathe in that sauce! Lol!Super nice, and friendly staff. And the ambiance and decor was very well thought of!LOVE THAT THEY ARE VERY DOG FRIENDLY. They offered treats and water for doggos and we appreciate that so much.We loved this place sm, we were there 2 nights in a row. Lol!

While sitting at the bar, someone began smoking outside, on the patio, just a few feet away from the front door, which is illegal, and the cigarette smoke immediately came into the bar. I got up and closed the door, only to have the bouncer immediately reopen the door, and tell me that the door had to stay open. I explained to the bouncer why I had closed the door, only to have him tell me if I didn't like it I could leave.The bouncer then walked away, and the bartender and chef attempted to make things right by apologizing and explaining that they were having issues with the bouncer. I appreciated the apology and acknowledgment of the problem, but that sort of behavior should never be tolerated.Needless to say, my friends and I immediately paid our tab and left.

Food was good, service was horrible. Ambience is okay, it went from la quarto to downtown. By the way you don't really get service if they don't like the way you look, so look the part is what I would say. If you get a good experience then you get a good one, but if you get a bad one you get a bad one. This one was a bad one

Service at the bar was good. Went for karaoke Sunday night but wasn't the best. Felt as the karaoke guy was more focused on catering to his friends and regulars. Me and my friends spots kept getting bumped down, skipped, or just straight cancelled.

Come for the food, stay for the drinks,I have been here twice and the food is amazing. Popcorn chicken, Brussel sprouts, Mac and cheese, wings all delicious. Tasted the burger tonight and OMG that was the best-like no joke order it!Drinks, full bar all cocktails are well balanced, fresh fruit, great ingredients. Our bartender tonight, Dakota is the best. She is attentive, knows what she is doing, professional and gave us amazing food recommendations. She wasn't wrong with anything she recommended. It's a bit if a drive for us but we'll worth it. We will be back.

I was in the area and saw this as a new bar that had some good food also. I went to the bar and Vee was the bartender. She poured awesome drinks and gave me recommendations on the food. I tried a few apps and a burger and everything came out delicious. The place is a good size location and clean. I would gladly come back for great drinks and great food!
