Stumbled across this very authentic Indian/Pakistani restaurant, known as Urban Punjab. This area has a handful of different cuisines available and we are so very glad we chose to come in specifically to Urban Punjab for the food. The service was quick and the ambiance was extremely family friendly with Punjabi music videos playing in the background upon a large TV. We ordered the paneer tikka as a starter, which came with a tamarind and chutney sauce. As well as their staple chicken tikka masala which is just out of this world from a flavor profile standpoint. Along with a chicken biryani, that is equally good as the tikka masala. We're excited to bring more folks back to introduce this wonderful place to others and try more dishes, as it's definitely been a spot that has been missing in our lives. The owners prepare all their dishes with ample love and you can tell that they're truly passionate about cooking and serving the best dishes for all their customers, whilst also focusing on good service and great ambience. Would highly recommend this place to anyone that is craving some top notch Indian/Pakistani cuisine, any day of the week!

We placed a dinner order to carry out, never having tried this restaurant before but impressed by the favorable reviews. Here are my impressions: Ambiance--spotless dining room and rest room. The waitstaff who handed my order to me was not welcoming or friendly. Food: portion sizes for rice, salad and bread were small, especially for the price. The rice was dried out, probably left over from lunch. Spice level: we ordered 2 entrees and specified MILD, but the food was sooo spicy. If they'd given us more rice, we could have toned down the heat, but no such luck. The entrees were very well prepared, but a visible layer of oil or ghee made the appearance unappealing. All in all, we were not impressed with this dinner. It was overspiced, and overpriced for what we got.

We ordered two mango lassi, a few appetizers, garlic naan, chicken tikka masala, roasted eggplant (Bharta) and rice. It was a struggle ordering due to our servers lack of English. For the price the serving size was small compared to other similar restaurants. When I went to pay our bill I noticed trays of samosas sitting close to the floor in the kitchen. Our bill was over $85.00. Unfortunately, we were all underwhelmed and can't recommend this restaurant.

We came here for new years dinner! Was empty and quiet but the waiters were attentive. The samosa was delicious! I prefer this over a regular samosa dish (which can be quite dry). The sauce here was tangy with chickpeas. Worth it and will get again! Chicken tikka- nothing special. I'm new to Indian food but I thought this would have more spice flavors. It was more creamy than anything. Ordered spicy but it wasn't spicy at all :(Bhartha- really liked this eggplant tomato dish. It was fresh and there was some spice to it. Palak paneer- first time trying and did not disappoint! A little oily for me, but the cheese and spinach was a great combo.

So delicious!! The price is a little high but the quality is high so it's understandable! The restaurant is also very clean and nicely decorated, and it has beautiful tableware.I came here at 7pm on a Sunday night and it was pretty empty with just a few families. We were seated immediately. For the 3 of us we ordered vegetable biryani, chicken tikka masala, and garlic naan. It was more than enough food! We ended up taking some leftovers home. The vegetable biryani was super flavorful and paired really nicely with the side of yogurt which balanced it out. The roasted cauliflower pieces were flavor bombs!! So good and also added a nice crispy texture! The chicken tikka masala was very creamy. The ratio of chicken to sauce was good. I didn't feel like we were lacking chicken (as I feel in some other Indian restaurants sometimes when there's a ton of sauce and like 3 pieces of chicken). It was really tasty too! It went really well with the garlic naan which came out fresh. It was cut in half so there were 2 big pieces, and it was a good amount for the 3 of us. If we were a little hungrier we probably would've gotten another order of naan, which would probably be a perfect ratio of naan to chicken tikka masala (2:1).My family also got 2 beers, and it was nice they brought out pre-chilled glasses to pour the beer into. They also brought a small bowl of roasted salted peanuts! It was a really nice touch.A great spot for Indian food! Definitely recommend.

The only pictures I took unfortunately were of my empty plate. I'm sure nobody wants to see that. The food was delicious, medium spice made me cry (happy tears) and the customer service was superb. Will definitely return:Foods tried today:Chicken Curry, chicken tikka masala, butter chicken, basmati rice, garlic naan, veg raita, yellow dal (lentils) and vegan sarsa da saag. Flavors were simply superb together and individually!Paired nicely with a glass of red wine.

A Must-Try for Authentic Indian & Pakistani CuisineUrban Punjab is an absolute gem! We visited as a family and were blown away by the authentic flavors and warm ambiance. We started with the chicken strips, which were crispy, tender, and packed with flavor--a great start to the meal. The main course stole the show: the Shahi Paneer was creamy and rich, the Yellow Daal comforting and flavorful, and the Chicken Karahi was simply perfection--juicy, aromatic, and utterly delicious and really the only authentic Karahi I've had around here. We ended with their Gajar Halwa, which was the perfect finale: sweet, fragrant, and melt-in-your-mouth good.Every dish tasted homemade and full of love. The love is real, from the service with their service and the owners which make you feel like you know them from ages and you're at home (Preet and Amina the owners are love ). If you're craving authentic Indian and Pakistani food, Urban Punjab is a must-visit. We can't wait to go back!

For a menu that advertises they have vegan options, it's not very clear what exactly can be made vegan. They do make accommodations to omit butter (and don't forget to ask about whether yogurt is used) from certain dishes, including the naan, but this has to be specifically ordered for every applicable dish. Note that some dishes, like the parantha, cannot be made without dairy. It was my first time trying dal makhani (note: this isn't non-dairy), and I liked the earthy, creamy flavor of the black lentil and kidney beans, and the medium spice was on the milder side but may have worked to focus on the flavor in this case. (4/5)The naan was on the thinner and crispier side, which made it slightly difficult to sop up the dal the way I wanted to, but this might be a personal preference. Overall impression is on the better side of standard (3.5/5), rounding down for the confusion about vegan/non-dairy options.
