Always my go-to place whenever i crave for vietnamese-style boba. Can get busy sometimes during the day, but they get the orders roll quickly.Locates in a big plaza with plenty of parking, but it can also get tricky during busy hours (usually lunch or after dinner). Besides drink, they also have different types of authentic Vietnamese snacks. And one good thing about Unu is that it always keeping up with the newest trends (milk tea full topping, soursop tea, etc.)

My friend told me about this spot. Inside they sold a lot of Vietnamese snacks and desserts. My friend and I came for the drinks. You can add 7 toppings to your drink, however, we felt this was excessive. I wish there was a "pick two topping" option. But when I asked they said it's $1 a topping (if I remembered correctly) so the "pick 7" was a better deal (but we didn't do it). I went for the "boba and cheese foam" for additional 1.50$. The topping options looked cute. They consisted of different flavor, color, and design of jellies and puddings. But again, I felt picking 7 was way too much so I passed. As for my boba and cheese foam tea.. I was disappointed in the boba. The size of the boba was not "suckable" through the straw! And I tried multiple times. The boba would get stuck. I even brought it home and thought maybe it was just that one boba that got clumped big. But nope multiple times the boba did not go through the boba straw. I then had to scoop out all the boba and realized the size they made was too big! I guess that boba was meant as a "che" style (Vietnamese dessert). If I go back, I would try a side topping or just no boba.

I was pleasantly surprised, it's an amazing shop!! It sits right beside another shop with the same name, only selling small snacks and some varieties of the jellies they sell. Ordering was quick and simple, you can either line up traditionally or choose from a kiosk. It is crowded, so ordering from the kiosk made it easier to see the menu. Our drinks took 10-15 minutes to arrive, but we blew the time walking around the plaza and in the sister shop. The shop reminds me of the ones back in Vietnam, the jellies as well. It makes for a fun and unique boba experience. The jellies come in a variety of shapes and flavors, my favorites being the cheese and coffee w/ cheese filling. Great price for what you get. The grass jelly had an odd texture--too powdery. There is also an amazing variety of milk teas and fruit teas to choose from, some I have never heard before. While waiting in line, you can browse for some quick snacks, or even some of the rau câu they offer. Definitely coming back again! I'm hoping to make it in time for the cooler events haha

This place is packed with street snacks from Vietnam, but it's quite expensive . Good, wide variety of drink flavors and toppings to choose from, but nothing revolutionary. Decent chè Thái that won't disappoint but won't rock your world eithe. I add more durian paid extra $4 . Service was friendly but overall price are a little high for what you get .

I was in OC the other day, and my friend was craving boba and che, so they put me onto Unu Cafe. When we got there, it was packed--waited about 30 minutes for my order (also, parking in this plaza is rough).I went with the Milk Tea Bucket since it sounded fun--you get to pick 7 toppings, and they package everything separately, which is a nice touch. I got black milk tea, less sweet, and it was decent, but honestly, most of the toppings kinda tasted the same--some were jelly-like, some had cheese, pretty interesting. Also tried the Che Thai with durian, and that was solid! They don't skimp--the durian chunk was huge.Cool spot to check out for the hype, it was kinda pricey for everything so I don't know if I'd go out of my way to come back. But it's definitely a popular spot in the area.

Unu keeps popping up on Instagram and I finally checked it out. I was really looking for those buckets! There's a lot going on with their menu display so my eyes were getting tired, thankfully the employee behind the counter was there to assist. I would suggest a more simplified menu display that's located somewhere else (perhaps pushed back a bit more). I was able to get one of those buckets (but they didn't have the blue one). I got my usual favorite, Thai Milk tea and a bunch of toppings that are included with the bucket. It was really good but the bucket kinda sucks. The lid doesn't seal completely to prevent leaks.

I came for the jellies and was overall pleased with the experience. I got to try most of their flavors, but unfortunately, despite the menu saying 2 jellies for one dollar I was shorted a few jellies. The milk tea was pretty sweet but good. I'm not sure if they do adjustments to their drinks, but I would recommend getting them less sweet. As of my visit on 3/4/25 they didn't have any coolers that I saw people post on TikTok.

I am actually very surprised that the drinks came out good with default sugar adjusted @75% was just perfect. Really enjoyed the drink being not too sweet and you can still have the tea aroma when sipping it. Will come back to try other drinks

3.5 or 4 stars for Unu Cafe. I saw this on tiktok where they were selling buckets of boba. Unu Cafe was busy on a Saturday afternoon and we ordered a pineapple plum juice and boy do they have a lot of toppings to choose from. They have the most toppings to add to drinks that I have ever seen. We didn't wait too long luckily.

Wow, talk about TOPPINGS! There are is an overwhelming amount of toppings at Unu Cafe. And I didn't know a cafe like this even existed! We happened upon it when we were walking to get some BBH a few doors down and I made a mental note to NOT order too much food for dinner so I can have room for some milk tea + TOPPINGS. Unu Cafe has a small foot print with some prepackaged snacks, jellies/panna cottas, and drinks for sale, in addition to the made to order drinks. The line to the cashier/ordering will have you go through the refrigerated premade jellies/panna cottas and prepackaged snacks. Once you order, you can pick a spot somewhere (out of the way lol) until they call your number. If you're ordering a drink with toppings, then you'll go over to the refrigerated display where the staff will scoop toppings into your drink.I ordered the full topping milk tea - meaning I chose my tea base + six (6) toppings. I got jasmine milk tea, jasmine oolong crystal, Chinese jelly, pandan jelly, Thai tea koi, coffee cheese jelly, and sunflower jelly. - Jasmine milk tea: surprisingly good. A little sweet despite ordering 50% sweetness or whatever recommended sweetness. - jasmine oolong crystal: chewy and strong jasmine flavor. Oolong flavor was overpowered by the floral jasmine, I think. Not bad if you're a fan of jasmine. - Chinese jelly & sunflower jelly: these jellies didn't stand out for me, and I could not tell what flavors they were :x- Pandan jelly: great pandan flavor and texture. - Thai tea koi: visually beautiful - I wish I got a picture of it before it made it to my drink! There were crystal boba inside the koi, too :O Flavor wise, it was light in Thai tea flavor. - coffee cheese jelly: coffee forward. don't remember the cheese. Unu Cafe is a cool place to try at least once, and maybe come back to if you're a fan of jellies/toppings! I enjoyed my cup of jasmine milk tea and toppings, and appreciated that the toppings had separate and distinct flavors, for the most part. I imagine parking can be challenging on weekends, as this cafe is in the same plaza as many different restaurants, and shops. There also isn't seating in this cafe, so you'd have to enjoy your drink & jellies in the car, or wait until you get home to share.
