Fish & Chips w lg meat portions & crispy batter. My fabulous server recommended saving a bit of chowder for fry dunking!!! Great tip!
Excellent clam chowder...my happy face crackers.
Photos of Turk and friends methinks.

Turk's is one of the last places in Dana Point that hasn't been sanitized for the yacht club crowd. While the rest of the harbor got polished up for weekenders who think owning a pair of Sperrys makes them a sailor, Turk's just is. No pretense, no bullshit, no $19 cocktails served in a mason jar. Just a bar--one that smells like whiskey, fried fish, and the kind of stories you don't tell your kids.I worked out of this harbor on the Fury, back when the docks were lined with real boats, real fishermen, and real work. Before Dana Point turned into a glossy, Instagram-friendly version of itself. But Turk's? It still feels like the old days. The walls are covered in history--photos of old-school captains, movie stars who lived hard, and fish that probably don't even exist anymore. The drinks are stiff, the seafood is solid, and if you don't know how to hold a conversation without looking at your phone, this isn't the place for you. It's a refuge. A bar for people who appreciate a cold beer after a long day, who don't need a curated dining experience, who understand that some places are sacred simply because they don't try to be anything but what they are. If the rest of Dana Point is a museum of what used to be, Turk's is still living it.

Every time I'm in town I stop by here. Fish and chips are delicious and large. Bartender and waitress was super friendly and treated me like family. Drinks are cheap and strong and I can chat with the locals for hours.

I've been coming to Turk's for years now and have always loved its charm. It was my grandpa's favorite place to go when we visited Dana Point and since his passing, I always loved visiting. If you're looking for a high-end vibe on the water then this isn't the place for you. The charm at Turk's is similar to the feeling of sitting on an 1850s pirate ship as the walls and tables are coated in wood.Today our bartender was named Brandon and he was a cool guy. He told us a little about the history of the restaurant and had a great sense of humor. We ate lunch before coming, so we had a few drinks and some appetizers. We ordered the Grilled Cheese with Tomato Soup and Clam Chowder. The pickles that came with the dish were so good. I ended out ordering more because of how good they tasted. It was quite misty/cold outside, so the Grilled Cheese with Tomato Soup hit the spot. It wasn't the best Grilled Cheese with Tomato Soup, but it did hit the spot.Clam Chowder is a dish that most restaurants and a lot of them don't taste too good. Turk's Clam Chowder was truly great. It was the perfect consistency and taste without being too rich.If you like a dive barish place with a simple menu, Turk's is the spot for you. The charm of this place won't ever change and thats the beauty of it.My rating is 8.5/10.

Looks like they've been here forever. The patina on the wood is testament to that. I had the blackened sea bass and the fish and chips, both excellent no complaints. This is the complete opposite of trendy. You want honest food with honest prices come here.

As i've previously stated, I don't get down to Dana Point often, but when I do Turk's is a must. I won't repeat what I've previously stated except to say I've never been disappointed by the food, the drink, the service, or the ambience. I usually order the New York steak, but the beef stroganoff special looked inviting, so that's what I ordered. I was glad I did. It was very good. She ordered the fish and chips and enjoyed the dish.As a side note, it's fun to stroll around the harbor, admire the boats, and listen to the sea lions barking. Long live Turk's.Cheers.
