Went here twice while we stayed at the JW Marriot. (dinner and breakfast)Food at dinner was just okay. Pricey. The pizza tasted like it was frozen and it was cold when it arrived. Breakfast was a joke, we walked asking to be served quickly because we had to head to the airport. She sat us down and it was 10 minutes before someone came to take our order, we waited 40 minutes for cold eggs and ONE slice of toast. Service was awful!!! We asked for another carafe of coffee, never came, we asked for to-cups, never came. I wish hotels would consider their restaurants service because it 100% is what I take into consideration when booking a reservation. Won't be back to the JW!

The food for the most part was amazing! Can't wait to go back to try their daily menu. We went for Thanksgiving, and didn't realize it was a set menu. I booked it specifically because it advertised a buffet, that had staples I like, so I was pretty disappointed. Especially since with taxes, tip, and drinks, the bill was nearly $400. I'd say try it, but no what you're in for, food wise and price point wise. Also loved the dark ambiance.

I apologize in advance for not having photos of what I am going to call 'cuisine perfection'. I'm old we do not need to get into the semantics of my age, lol. That being said, I order Filet Mignon, often. In all my years of doing this, there are about 4 that I would consider, exquisite. Now there are five, and Tocca Ferro might be in the #1 spot! Words cannot begin to describe this perfection. Yes, an Italian restaurant just made my #1 or #2 spot for steak! Okay, enough about the food, what about the service? Liz was our waitress, she also makes my new # 1 or #2 for phenomenal service. Give this lady a raise! Wow

4 stars for service but the food was amazing, bumping up the full review to a solid 5 stars! We came here during the Disneyland Half Marathon weekend on the Saturday night pre-race, so a semi-early dinner at 6pm. We were staying at the Clementine Hotel across the way and it was super easy making reservations via opentable. We got there promptly at our reservation time, see tons of free tables, and were asked to wait in the lobby for 15 minutes. No problem - there were plenty of couches and free water available! We came back exactly at 15 minutes and she asked if we were ready...which I found funny since we were ready 15 min earlier when we got there. Overall the service was very slow and it took a while for the server to get back to us. They were likely short-staffed which is perhaps why they had asked us to wait in the first place. We ordered our drinks and while we were ordering the food, the amuse-bouche and bread had been delivered to the table. I was in the middle of placing my order with my waiter when the bread guy interrupted and started his spiel on the amuse-bouche & bread. I appreciated the story, and the good luck horse shoe, and food detail but not sure why he couldn't wait five seconds when I finished ordering. Seemed rude to myself and his colleague. The amuse-bouche was a delicious ceviche that we all enjoyed. On top of that, the bread combined with the herb butter & topped with salt and chilli pepper flakes from the beautiful marble keeper on the table was PERFECTION. I'm not sure what specifically, but it sure hit the spot. I ordered the ricotta gnocchi carbonara. To die for! I loved it! I ordered this based on the server's recommendation and he hit the nail on the head! It was the right level of richness, without being overpowering in creaminess. It was also quite filling. I had half and saved the rest for post race. It was just as good the next day. My husband ordered the chilean sea bass and it was amazing as well. It was cooked to perfection, soft & flavorful. It paired with the gnocchi was spot on.My friend also ordered the Caesar salad with salmon - a super solid choice as well. I love a good Caesar. We each had our own chamomile tea. At first the $7 price tag turned me off but when I saw my husband's order come out (full pot, a mini honey jar, and lemons), it seemed so comforting for a cold night. My friend and I decided to order our teas when the food came to our table. It took FOREVER to get it. I'm glad they offered us to-go cups to take it back. This place is pretty pricey but the food is definitely worth it. The ambience is fairly upscale as well. We were in the main dining area next to the bar but we did feel several drafts throughout the night. Again, the service could be improved but we totally understand staff shortages - it was just a little anxiety inducing as we had a 2:30am wake up time and we couldn't leave until close to 8pm due to the slow service. Lesson learned - we'll make a 5pm reservation next time!

First off, Jessica did a great job taking care of us both for the complimentary wine tasting and for dinner. She was outgoing, polite, and just seemed like she genuinely enjoys what she does. The destination fee of $30 per day includes a free daily wine tasting featuring a red and a rosé from Daou, so we were sure to take advantage of that at the bar from 5pm-6pm. The ambiance was relaxed and cocktail loungey, dimly lit, and relatively quiet. Vibey with a honeycomb motif throughout. They give you an amuse bouche and bread and butter to start your meal. We ordered the Cobb wedge salad which was a great starter, complete with balsamic and Gorgonzola cheese. For entrees we ordered the Tartufo Fettuccini which was a truffle pasta with asparagus, and the Seabass with a unique pillowy, cheesy gnocchi (probs my fave version of gnocchi, which I'm typically not a fan of ), brown butter sage, and a pea purée to round it out. Both entrees were def winners and would def order again. Finally, Jessica threw in a free caramel soufflé for our anniversary and made it ala mode with her recommendation, which made for the perfect way to end the night. Warm, gooey, decadent and the perfect size to share. Overall, an awesome place to have dinner with the nicest wait staff, and the convenience of being inside the hotel. Would def pay these guys a visit again when staying at the JW.

Extremely disappointed and underwhelmed. The breakdown:We had reservations and although only four tables were occupied, we had to wait 15 minutes to be seated. The hostess was nowhere to be found after our initial check-in. What was the point of that?Ambiance is modern but the chairs are too short for the tables. Our table was two square tables that were not even the same height. Everyone felt like a child. When I looked under the table wondering about the difference in tables, saw the floor was filthy with crumbs. I'm not certain the crumbs were from that day.Is one large vat of pasta water being use? Our squid ink arrabbiatta pasta had some white (overcooked) spaghetti noodles in it.Filet mignon - asked for medium rare, got medium.New York Strip - asked for medium, got medium well.Ordered the calamari from the bar menu (you can order some items but all not all from the bar, but they won't show you the menu or tell you what items?) - they were calamari steak strips and had some sweet coconut breading that didn't really go with the marinara sauce. The serving sizes are generous but not sure if it's worth it if the food isn't very good. The topper - Opentable stated $12 valet parking with validation, turns out it's $25.We were there for a birthday celebration, so the whole experience was incredibly disappointing. They did provide a small cheesecake so they get an extra star.

Came to celebrate my 33rd bday, one of the best dinner experiences I've had. Fiancé made reservations for 3, we got sat at a booth and were greeted by friendly service. Our server, Jocelin, was super amazing and very attentive, we highly recommend coming in for dinner. All the food was tasty, we ordered a Cesar salad, pizza, steak, fries and a couple of drinks. We had a great experience, we will def come back to try more delicious food

This experience was incredible. These people deserve a Michelin star. The gnocchi was the best gnocchi I have literally ever had in my entire life. I am telling you GET THAT GNOCCHI. The reviews here don't do it justice. Amazing experience and the service was incredible. Our server was Alexa and she was so helpful and so friendly.
