When we walked in on a Friday, it was fairly empty. Some customers but not a ton.Cute space, modern and airy with a touch of Vietnamese decor. Onto the food. The catfish was unimpressive. It was dry because they butterfly it. The grill is good. Entire meal came to be about $100.I'd go to bien hein for catfish next time instead.

Thien An has been my mom's favorite restaurant since I was a boy. Even though we're such a long drive from the restaurant, my mom insists that I take her here every time. From business deals to celebrations, Thien An has been a part of my family for some time now.We always get the medium order of catfish, as well as my favorite Bò lá lốt. I seriously don't know what they put in there, but gosh, it is so amazing. No other restaurant has been able to replicate that flavor for me, even during my trips to Vietnam itself. The fish is always cooked wonderfully, and it's crispy and moist. The service is pretty hit or miss, but it's a Vietnamese restaurant that caters to an older population, so it's kind of expected at that point.

Ngon lắm! My family and I decided to stop by this location because we heard they just remodeled and it's under new management. We often eat bò 7 món so we're familiar with the flavors. The food was up to standard and everything tasted nice. They brought us all the necessary side dishes, vegetables, and rice paper. The service was a bit lacking considering there were 7 courses to be brought out. We understand, however, since there were only 2 people serving and clearing tables. The interior is much nicer and modern than before. The price is also reasonable and aligns with other bò 7 món locations.Definitely give them a try!

I'm really lazy about writing re-reviews, but I just wanted to say after 8-9 years... my family gave them another chance and we regret doing so. We came by the weekend before Father's Day weekend hoping to avoid the crazy crowd since my dad doesn't like it when things are too busy. We were the first customers through the door and later on, two other groups joined... Three tables is definitely not too much to take care of in this very large restaurant but there was only one person front of house, and he was slowwwwwww AND RUDE. Just to summarize how annoying my visit was... the menus were sticky, the pricing is higher compared to other 7 courses of beef restaurants. The waiter interrupted our ordering and was like that's not enough food... WELL CAUSE WE AREN'T DONE ORDERING. We waited 40-45 minutes until the food came out. So slowwwwwwwww. The sauce jars were cute but it wasn't very useful since the sauce had issues coming out. The veggies were cut really sloppy and not in ratio with the roll. The meat was really stubby too. Overall taste and flavor of the meal was lacking too. I even noted at 12:13 pm - There was a female voice in the back yelling at her dad. Absolute mess of a family business you have here. My dad had to get up to ask for napkins and they guy snapped at him. The other table had to get up and go to the counter to find this same waiter to order. We were pretty over it and we wanted to just get out so we went to pay. He was like no, go sit, there's the porridge. We're like no no just pack it. We want to get out of here. My dad looked at me and said, "1 star? can you give 0 stars?". My mom was like we "made a mistake." I was annoyed years ago and some how IT GOT WORSE. They may have add some modern touches with their interior but the service is far from acceptable. Hard pass.

We are back for grilled catfish, ordered a medium and we ate about 90% of it so it's the right size for 2. They butterfly the fish prior to baking. I don't know by what magic the skin is so shatteringly crisp but they assure me it's not deep fried. When I make the roll, dip the rice paper in the provided container of water, lay it flat then position the lettuce, follow with herbs, then pickled carrots and jicama, then sliced cucumber then the fish. My favorite part is the edges of the butterflied catfish which has the highest crispy bits. Don't bother folding the sides so there is an opening to soak up the dipping sauce. In fact I use the spoon to pour the sauce in. I use the brown sauce which is fermented anchovy-chopped pineapple to which is added sliced lemongrass and chopped chili so it's more solid than liquid, requiring the use of a spoon. As you work your way in towards the spine for the next rolls, look out for bones. Baked catfish is the story of humble ingredients elevated by technique and genius. It's not cheap but the wait is worth it.Thien An is a chain but this location is the best of the bunch. The ambience is simple and contemporary, nice enough to bring your Caucasian friends or a date. Plenty of parking.

Amazing! My friend introduce me to this place and you have to try their beef 6 course meal! It's $28 a set. There's 4 of us and we ordered 3 set. The food is delicious. We wrap the food in the rice paper. I pretty much enjoyed all the dishes. My least favorite was the steamed meat patty thing as it has a little too much onion and stuff in it for me. My favorite was the meat dip in the boiling vinegar and the seasoned beef where we grill on the plate. Service was quick. Servers tells us like it is. Didn't try to update anything and also gave us recommendations. The place was very spacious. Overall I had an amazing time eating here and trying the dishes. Will be back again!

We've been going to this restaurant for years! This review is long overdue lolWent last night with friends. The restaurant is clean, the staff very attentive. Ordered tea and sweet potato fries while waiting for our friends to arrive.Of course we ordered the 7 courses of beef and fried catfish. They're very generous with the condiments, vegetables and vermicelli.Everything was delicious and the catfish which took longer than we expected was WORTH the wait!!! (I guess we were just craving for the delicious catfish lol). It was tasty, moist and very crispy skin!!!!!! Omg! It was so yummy!!!!! Food was so good that we all forgot to take pictures of the food. We just dug in lolCan't wait to back and have some more of their delicious 7 courses of beef and catfish!

The bo 7 mon places have dwindled down to just this one! I used to go to Pagolac, An Hong , and the like back in the day like 1980s and 1990s! This place toggles between old school and striving for modern with its chalkboard drawing of a spring roll construction. We came here on a Monday early dinner like 5pm and only competed with 2 other tables. Still. The older male server could hardly bother with us and our occasional requests (more greens or mam nem, please?) . Or that we are done and waiting for the next course? The parking lot is shared by pretty sketchy bystanders who panhandle. So there's that. I would love to bring some of my foodie friends here at an hour where I don't fear of assault or property damage!

This place has been here for so long and they have remodeled and redesigned it for a while now (before COVID). Floor and things are still sticky...when you pull the chair out use your strength because the legs are stuck to the floor! Nonetheless, food is pretty decent! I had the 7 courses beef here before and it was just alright. I'm not a big fan of the 7 courses because I don't like all the type of dishes in the course. I would rather do a la carte. However, if you come here for ca nuong (their baked catfish), it's pretty good!!They have different sizes for the fish and when you pick a size for the fish, the actual fish comes out might be more or less than what you picked! Usually, it is always more! But, their catfish is pretty crunchy and very flavorful and they provide plenty of greens, sauce, and other things you need! My favorite here is their baked catfish and the bo la lot (grilled beef in special mint leaves), pictured. I like them and I would come here for their baked catfish!
