The Salt Horse

We stumbled into this cute little specialty gourmet grocery store plus so much more. We were looking for some special salt . They have all kinds of wonderful things we ended up buying mother daughter so cute.. they got a little bit of everything here from Jams and jellies to walnuts to avocados, pottery jewelry, all kinds of lovely little things the gal behind the counter was so sweet. She wrapped up our earrings with special care.We are heading back in January as they are getting some new items that we are looking for

I love this store in Laguna Beach on S Coast Hwy and just discovered it today. Kristen is so sweet and she told us that there are 2 other Kristen's who also work here. They have a sister store within this store called Abode. Both are great and I bought some dried edible flowers to add to my salad making. It is a must stop in while in the 'hood!!

One of my hobbies is going to fancy gourmet grocery stores to explore new foods. This shop is aesthetically very pleasing. You should be able to find free parking a few blocks away near the houses. I've found some interesting items I can't find elsewhere like Zaza pita chips or "healthy" brownies. This time I saw that they had a mango from a farm; the mango was insanely delicious. You can't find mangoes at the farmers market around here.My minus star is the lack of transparent pricing. Barely any items have prices so you'll just have to be surprised when they tell you the total. They don't even break out the prices when you check out. Be aware: they charge a fee for credit cards! They don't even tell you or have a sign; this is a terrible practice. I was prepared and brought cash. I was given the total and asked for my receipt. They STILL charged me the credit card fee. Then when I needed change back, they didn't have the exact cash. ASK FOR A RECEIPT AND REVIEW!Basic retail operations 101 is to list prices, show customers the fees, and have change for alternative payment methods. How could this store fail as being a store?! I strongly hope that management sees this review and actually list prices. Not all of us are trust fund Laguna Beach babies who can spend $12 a mango and not question it! I do find the unlisted credit card charge particularly egregious.

Great selection of products and fresh produce as well as friendly service. My go to grocery store when in Laguna Beach. Highly recommend!

Little hidden treasure off the PCH with organic groceries and produce. There's always super fresh produce at its peak and lots of treats like chocolate, jams, homemade tortillas, caramel corn, beautiful berries, AND it is dog FRIENDLY. It has an old school neighborhood vibe. There was yellow zucchini from Santa Inez, which I grabbed and some gorgeous squash blossoms. Also the blueberries were phenomenal. Good place to browse and super cute outdoor space.

The best and cutest grocer in Laguna for SO many reasons - the amazing local produce (best berries in town!), curated local pantry and frozen items that you can't find anywhere else, the decor is open and airy, and it feels like a meeting ground for people that care about good quality food. And Sam (the owner) is the nicest and her passion for it all is amazing! Plus she does an awesome curated farm box with recipes that is surely the best around!

This shop is such a hidden gem! Their fresh, locally sourced produce is always top-notch, and the seasonal goods are so thoughtfully made. Shopping here is a great way to support a small local business -- and not just this amazing store, but also the farmers and artisans behind everything they offer. It feels good to know my purchases are making a difference while bringing home the best quality products. Highly recommend!PS - the owner ROCKS!

Super cute store with great items- however the two times I've come in the store the girls at the front NEVER knowledge me or welcome me into the store. They look up and look back down and/or continue socializing. Never ask if I need help, or tell me about the store etc... not a super warm and inviting experience that makes me want to shop there. I also noticed they sell eggs in store that are labeled *keep refrigerated * however they're at unrefrigerated which I thought was weird?

it was my first time visiting the store, picking up a wreath for my daughter. Beautiful wreaths, great produce, friendly staff, nice ambiance.
