Are you looking for a family owned, local spot with delicious food, and an even fresher menu? A place where you can try a new food combo, and then sit and chat with friendly company and feel welcome to just sit and hang out as long as you'd like? I mean.... who isn't? That's exactly what you're getting when you choose to eat at The Pan. I love how broadly this cafe serves the community. Even if you're a broke college kid, they have fresh meals on here range from $12-25, meaning that even if you're watching your budget you can get something to fill your belly and fuel your day. They have healthy omelette options with fresh vegetables, or decadent Peach Corn Pancakes drizzled with whipped cream and syrup that pack the perfect amount of sweetness. The picture says it better than I ever could. Check these out! The Pan has everything from fancy coffee drinks to Horchata (freshly made by my server!), AND they manage to fit it all into a short and sweet menu that leaves something for every occasion. I took one look at that menu and was already mentally scheduling a time to come back to try some of the other menu options. I'm a vegetarian, so I was pleased that they offer soyrizo for the chilaquiles. Highly recommend this dish. It was fresh and flavorful, topped with your choice of red or green sauce, fresh sour cream, and eggs cooked in your preferred way. The beans are also vegetarian (no lard). The manager came by to check on us, and throughout our time chilling and chatting there was always someone there to answer questions or bring us anything we need. Great service, without making us ladies feel rushed as we solved the many problems of the world as we caught up on our lives. This place isn't even that close to me and I still see myself making the drive specifically to come back here. That's something to be celebrated, so I'm doing it with this review. Cheers to The Pan!

The Good: food came out quickly and service was attentive. The pancakes were good (I appreciate you can buy a single pancake for $5 which allowed us to try different flavors) - the guava and tiramisu flavors were unique and tasty. The Bad: the fish in the fish & chips were comically small...literally the size of my fingers. For $17 for three tiny (they were also dry) fried fish it was a complete rip off and the reason I probably won't return.

The Pan Rocks! Happy to see they've opened up a new location in Santa Ana since we were heartbroken when our beloved Pasadena location closed during Covid. The menu has something for everyone and the service is attentive-- checking in frequently, asking about refills, etc. The place is so cute and welcoming. We got the chile verde hash (crunchy hashed browns underneath!), fish tacos, and my husband's favorite chile verde and egg burrito. All so delicious and hit the spot. I hope Santa Ana realizes what a gem The Pan is!

Just stopped by this "hot and new" joint today and was pleasantly surprised! The Manager was very friendly and personable. He mentioned they opened about 5 weeks ago and while busy on the weekend, the weekdays are a bit slower. I'd stop by midweek if I was in the area. The menu was pretty extensive and the big perk was that breakfast was served all day. Started off with a hot vanilla latte which was actually great! Whatever flavoring they use is better than the normal generic syrup most places use. I wasn't sure if I wanted the Lemon Pancakes or Stuffed French Toast, but based off the Manager's rec, I went with the pancakes. They were huge! So so Delicious! Sweet without being overwhelming. I ordered a side of turkey bacon, which I probably could have done without for the price. My husband had a scrambler and really enjoyed it!I'm not sure the vibes of the place: the mural up front is graffiti style, while the decor is country chic, while the mocktail decor was 50s vibe. I think honing in on its vibe/feel would help the brand! The service was good (though they're still figuring out some things, understandably) and there's plenty of parking. My biggest complaint was that the seats are unbearably uncomfortable. The booths are bound to be better, but the metal chairs make it hard to get comfy or stay long. If you have someone with even remote body pains, they'll find sitting on the chair very difficult pretty early on. 4.5 stars: We'll totally come back! And when it's warm enough, maybe sit outside too.

It's a burger joint... it's a pizza parlor... it's a breakfast place...it's The Pan! Tucked away in a little triangle plaza where Tustin and Santa Ana merge by N Tustin Ave and 17th St, you can have breakfast and lunch all day in a cute little square diner. There is plenty of seating on a slower weekday, with metal chairs mixed in with chic and comfortable diner booths along the walls of the restaurant. The kitchen is hidden behind a stylish blonde wooden panel. The staff are friendly and happy to guide you through the epic adventure of a menu. The only minor note on service is that it's a little hard to get staff attention because of the wooden panel if they're behind the scenes so service can be slightly slower. With that said, food is prepared very quickly and nice and hot.For my first visit, I explored the breakfast side of the menu with my friend, and we ordered: Shrimp and Grits, Pitas Chilaquiles with Green Sauce and Soyrizo, Peach's Georgia Peach Corn Cakes, and a Horchata.Shrimp and Grits were velvety and creamy, with plump and perfectly cooked shrimp and andouille sausage. While not quite the heat of your typical Cajun faire, the red pepper and tomato cream sauce were bursting with sweet and acidic notes. A very nice dish if you're looking for hearty, comforting warmth on a cold day.The Pitas Chilaquiles held some texture with a generous serving of green salsa layered throughout the corn tortillas. A good classic executed well with bonus points for being vegetarian friendly (but you can add meat). The Peach's Georgia Peach Corn Cakes were a peachy delight. While the many variety of pancakes were enticing, the corn cakes called to us this visit. The corn cakes were soft, fluffy, and swimming in sweet peaches and cream. It's delicious and although on the sweeter side because of the peach juices, the corn cakes held its own. Like the child of a delicate corn bread and a pancake, this was a decadent treat and a great indication that the pancakes are likely solid here as well. Finally, the Horchata, made specially by our server, had a perfect balance of milky notes with a nice cinnamon rim. While I prefer mine slightly thicker and with more cinnamon, the sweet and creamy notes were well balanced. Bottom line - it tastes great!Overall, all of the food and drinks were solid, and we are enticed to try more food here. I'm looking forward to exploring the pizza and burger (lunch) side of the menu next time. And I have a special eye on Yoshi's Cheesesteak, which felt specially named after yours truly :). Also, pro tip, they offer an unlimited toast side for the bread lovers. The Pan delivers a fresh take on your everything-diner. You'll find something tasty for everyone here, but I warn you... you may not be able to choose just one dish!

So glad this opened closer to me. I used to go to the one in Gardena but ever since moving to OC I hardly take that trip just to eat. This spot wasn't nearly as busy as their other locations which is a blessing because I hate waiting lol. I know eventually the locals will find out and start to crowd this place so I'll enjoy it while I can. Same good service and good food.

Came on a chill Friday to get brunch after we stopped at Bad Ass Coffee. The chorizo scramble was good. I appreciate the fact that they offer dry toast and real butter. Most places use crappy margarine, which I hate. The service was good, quick but it was also not busy when we were there.

I just had to leave another review again! You guys and girls are literally sleeping on this place and if so please waaaaaake up! The shrimp and grits ofc my usual delicious as if from the south itself! The best banana pancakes ever were so delicious, soft and moist the walnuts added a nice crunch with fresh sliced bananas and the nice banana sauce built in the pancake all around just was perfect on its own I actually needed no syrup! Don't believe me well then try it for yourself you don't have to take my word for it but I suggest while this place isn't too busy right now because I have a feeling they will be crowded you will have to make a reservation soon so go while you still can without a Reservation cuz you know how restaurants in the OC get overcrowded once word gets out their food is sooooooooo goood!

This is a recently opened place that opened in the center on 17th Street and Tustin Ave, near Tutto Fresco. I am having high hopes for this place.I have only been once so far with a family member. I think it has great potential but there are a few things that are keeping it from getting a 5-star rating. I hope to go back and see that perhaps the things that went wrong in our first visit is simply the new-to-being-open speed bumps and training of the staff. The place was not even half full when we went. When we walked in, it took a few minutes to being acknowledged by the staff. When we were finally seated, they tried to seat us at the table right in front of the door. It was a colder, windy day so we asked to be moved as the weather blasted us every time that the door opened. But they tried to seat us there even though there were plenty of open tables away from the door. We did get a table away from the door. But then it took the young woman who was our waitress over 7 minutes (we timed it) to come over and ask if we wanted anything to drink. We both asked for coffee/water please. After about 8 minutes after that, we asked the younger girl who was rolling silverware in napkins near the door if she could please go check and see what the delay was on the drinks. We expressed that our waitress was just kind of standing around on her phone (we could see her) and that we really wanted our coffee or water or both. We saw a gentleman who was sitting with a family against the wall table, and he seemed to be the owner/manager. They were all having a good time, but he didn't seem to notice that there were several other tables that also had not gotten their drinks. We ended up talking to a couple of other close by tables about it and they were disappointed/thirsty too. I guess something was said by another table as the owner/manager got up, went to the serving area and all of a sudden, people started getting their drinks. They even pulled the hostess napkin rolling girl to help. Good call! That said, once the service started, it got better. Orders went in, food came quickly. There were a couple of misses on the order (hash browns or home fries were not extra crispy as requested) Had asked for over medium eggs and they were way over easy. I had also asked for the meat lover omelet to be done as a scramble dish and was told that the cook didn't know how to do that. It is literally in the same section that is labeled "Omelets & Scrambles". Please see my pictures. Not that hard to do. The food was good overall, seemed to be good quality ingredients and the portions were good. The owner/manager guy (now that he was up and away from the table he was at) came by to check on us himself. Seemed very friendly. Took a while to get the check after asking too. We are going to go back and give them another try here soon. Excited to explore the menu if the service and food prep aspect can get a little better.I'll be honest, this really should be a 3.5-star review because of the service issues and misses on the food order. A quick tip for the owner/manager, when people come in, especially on a weekend, they want to have coffee and water or drinks right away. I can wait for my food, but 15 minutes to get drinks is not acceptable. Plus, keep them topped off throughout the meal. Also, the chairs that they have are metal with no cushion. They are not comfortable after about 5 minutes. A chair pad would help a lot. When I come and bring family, friends and guests out for breakfast, we want to feel comfortable and welcomed for the experience. I will anticipate that this gets some visibility and action by the business, as I am hoping for good things for this establishment. With just a few improvements, I could see this being a 5-star review and putting you in my breakfast rotation for many years to come. Best of luck to all.
