My favorite brunch spot around town!10/10 Entre: Whenever I visit, the Belgian Waffle is my unwavering choice--it's simply irresistible! Made from scratch, it embodies the perfect blend of fluffy and crisp that keeps me coming back for more. I always opt for the meal combo, which allows me to indulge in two delightful sides. The Home Fries, their take on hash browns, are a must-try; they're perfectly seasoned and golden. I usually pair my waffle with one slice of bacon and one sausage, creating a savory-sweet harmony that elevates the entire experience. Love, love, love it!7/10 Price: The total comes to $15.00 before taxes and tip. I've noticed that prices have gradually increased over time, and the meal combo used to be more affordable. However, the quality remains high, which makes it worth considering.10/10 Environment: The seating here is primarily outdoors, with a few options inside the restaurant. I recommend bringing a sweater, as it can get a bit chilly. I absolutely adore the outdoor ambiance--it really captures those cozy patio vibes, complete with charming umbrellas for added flair. It's the perfect backdrop for a lovely meal!

How has this place flown under my radar for so long? The local spot is near alamitos bay, a bit south of cal state Long Beach. My friend and I arrived around noon on Tuesday and there was plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. We grabbed a seat outdoors in the shade and a server came up to help us soon after! My friend ordered 2 eggs, biscuits and gravy, and a pancake (which ended up being $11) and I ordered the poorboy with 2 eggs added on ($15.50). The poorboy was everything I needed that morning because it was made of a homemade biscuit split open faced with sausage patties, eggs and gravy on top. It was served with a side of potatoes which was deliciously oniony and crispy. It was an easy 5/5 and it's needless to say that I'll be back to try everything else on the menu!

I've been to The Local Spot multiple times for brunch with friends. I'm not a drinker so I'm rating them only on food and service.Everytime I've eaten here, we've sat outside and if you get an umbrella, you're good. Otherwise wear sunglasses else the sun will likely be shining in your face. There aren't enough umbrellas for every table so be prepared just in case--for me, the umbrella makes a huge difference in how much I enjoy dining there. If you come during peak brunch, there can be a wait and the staff gets pretty busy so it's sometimes hard to flag them down for something. If you come later, the staff is very attentive as they are able to breath between customer requests. Finally, the food itself is decent. Nothing here strikes me as amazing but the price, quantity and quality are all very good. And when you're dining with friends, thats more than enough.

There are so many reasons to love The Local Spot. It starts with their friendly and helpful staff. They work as a team and consistently had various people checking to make sure we had what we neededOutstanding food and portion sizes. We ordered the eggs Benedict, Portuguese sausage, eggs, hash browns, one blueberry pancake and 2 banana pancakes. All of it was delicious. We sat outside and weather was perfect. Not too loud and tucked away from PCHI haven't tried their lunch yet, but Highly recommend for breakfast. Check them out

Food was great, atmosphere was awesome. Ambience was good, however it was pretty windy. Service was a let down, we waited 20-30 minutes to get our order in. Eventually a nice lady came and helped us (she was not our server). Portions are huge, coffee is alright.

Came for the breakfast burrito Service: 10/10Everyone was so kind, patient and very helpful! Every single staff member checked on me and made sure I didn't need anything and when I did need something they brought it right away, even though they weren't my server. I would come back just for the service. Atmosphere: 8/10Small and quaint. Much more outdoor seating than indoor. Pretty clean, enough to make me feel comfortable enough to stay and eat. I think they just need to rearrange the place and make it more comfortable and inviting. Food: 6/10I only had the bacon burrito so that's all I can comment on. It was rolled up very poor and about a quarter of the way in I had to set it down and roll it myself so it wouldn't keep falling apart at the other end. Flavor was ok, but the salsa recipes need to be thrown away and revised. The salsa verde was barely decent enough to try and the red one?? Worse than slapping ketchup on your burrito, but even if you like ketchup on yours I don't think you'll like whatever that stuff is they tried to call salsa. I gave up and just ate my burrito with chalula. Overall I would come here for a simple breakfast simply because the service was so phenomenal. And random fyi, but the bathroom is super cute!!
