A family member wanted to try this new place "The Coffee Cup Cafe"! We came on a Saturday morning around 8:30am. We were nicely greeted and was seated immediately. Place started to pick up with customers. Good dining area and spacious. Parking was street and was available. I've ordered the Veggie scramble eggs with tomatoes and was very tasty! As a healthy person, I enjoyed the meal. The server was helpful and professional. Out party ordered, French toast with scrambled eggs, veggie quesadillas. The children menu had several to select from. Place is clean. Overall we were full and happy to trying this place. We will return.

Need to update my review. My wife took the day off so we decided to go to breakfast at our favorite spot.We sat at the bar and noticed that my shirt stuck to the edge of the bar. There was sticky syrup on the edge of the bar, so they only wipe the top? I had to ask for a wet rag and my shirt was nasty.Took a while to get the food, but the kitchen was swamped with orders. It wasn't even that busy inside at 8:30am on friday. Some were take out though. We also over heard some heated moments from the managers. There was some tension there and some attitude. I noticed some issues were going on with the managers and the kitchen. But being so close to the kitchen at the bar you over hear everything. When the food arrived it was great, the same food we always get. My fajita omelet and my wife got the hanks chille verde omelet. We noticed right away they put a lot less meat then usual. They were very hallow omelets.Tortillas were soft and warm. But I always get one that is crusty and stale around the edges. When the bill arrived our jaw dropped. The prices have been jacked way up. They now are charging a egg fee because of the "shortage" and 4$ for our coffee's. 2 omelets and 2 coffees was 83$. I kid you not, thats with tip.Don't know if we will return. We been getting this same 2 omelets and coffee for years and walked out paying around 45$. So now its almost double that. Skimping the food, making the consumer pay for the egg shortage, over charging coffee when it should be included with any meal. I dont agree with these prices.

This is one of the best neighborhood cafes I've ever been to. I love breakfast and one of my friends put me on to this spot. There's no parking on site but neighborhood parking isn't too difficult. The host is super nice and accommodating. The times I've visited there's never been a wait but by the time we leave there are people waiting. It feels like a genuine diner, there's a great mix of people there. The server we had the first time (young woman, brown hair and eyes) was awesome. Great personality! Second server was ok. The food is good, zero complaints. It's a great spot if you're in the mood for good breakfast dishes with ample servings and a good cup of coffee. It's a humble spot, nothing super fancy but that's why it's popular; it makes everyone feel comfortable. There's a good variety of food to select from. I'll definitely be visiting again.

Great option for diner type hardy breakfast food! Came over the weekend for breakfast and was seated fairly quickly. I will say that the area we sat in was all the way in the back and didn't make the full dining experience the best, especially right next to the bathroom. Other than that the service was great! The food was also really good! I ordered the veggie chorizo omelette and it was great! Potatoes it comes with were really good too. I tasted the pancake and that was good too. I also enjoyed my cup of coffee. It's a solid breakfast spot.

Our plans took a turn and I knew this was a place to potentially pass by. We had this marked to make a stop at and Sunday was it. It's quite a big place but you walk in and it's a nice diner. I'm thinking the owner sat us down herself. They have a long bar to sit at, and the help was on is right away. I'd been looking for a new chicken fried steak plate to match the one I had to leave town for and thanks to David, I found it. I couldn't find much wrong with the plate. It was perfectly crispy, and in my opinion, the gravy was really good. The potato's were well seasoned and crunchy so I was more than satisfied with the overall dish. My girlfriend enjoyed her pancakes, eggs and sausage and agreed with some of my dish. The highlight that came a little late was the biscuit. I asked for a hit of whipped butter and they brought me some to slap all over my biscuit. Talk about the perfect ending to breakfast. I also love that they have pebble ice in their water. This place is definitely in my breakfast lineup!

Been here a few times and tried a few items.Service is still on point and the food as well. The chicken plate is one of my go to options and a safe choice when I don't want to be adventurous with the menu.Came here with a few friends who've also been fans.Worth a try if a local or a visitor for sure.

Excellent breakfast spot! Expect that downtown Long Beach street parking. We went on Sunday morning, wasn't too bad. The ambiance is bright, airy, friendly customer service and efficient. Tables, counter, and booth seating. Our party of 3 was present, we were seated right away. All the breakfast items we had were tasty. Don't sleep on the blueberry pancakes- good texture, moist, you could really taste the blueberries, i feel like I tasted a small hint of cinnamon. Corn beef hash is the way we like it (see pic), breakfast potatoes were good seasoned, with slight crisp texture, my egg whites fluffy, Spanish enchilada sauce is tasty , breakfast hamburger patty good!Hollandaise is also good, French toast is also good with good texture, lightly powder sugared. A definite repeat ! Added to our favorites :)Used to be cash only, but they accept card now!

Come try this place out for breakfast/lunch one day. I would suggest coming early to avoid the long wait times during the weekends! Tip: There are parking around the neighborhood of the restaurant if you can't find any! :)

My personal favorite breakfast place in Long BeachPart of me didn't think they needed my yelp review since they do so well and there's a line outside on weekends lot of the time. The photo is a veggie scramble, which was delicious if you want to avoid some meat. Speaking of meat, I love her corn, beef, hash, and eggs, Old-school diner style corned beef hash. I enjoy their black coffee, they use "Boyds" if you're familiar with Boyds, it's pretty good .They serve lunch as well, but I don't think I've ever ordered lunch because I love breakfast and they do breakfast so well. Also, they have three different salsas to choose from that they make in the house which our absolutely delicious. You really can't go wrong with coming here for breakfast or bringing out of towners to show off a good breakfast place. Check them out. See what you think.
