I like simple, straightforward foods and found it here. The fried fish was great and as expected, I did not even use the sauce, I liked it plain, it had crispiness on the outside, and softness on the inside. The catfish clay pot could have used a little bit more caramel flavor, but overall was decent. I opted for the catfish and pork belly and was disappointed that the pork belly was actually more like bacon bits. The water spinach was very good and is one of my favorite vegetables so I might be biased. The food in general seemed fresh and not drowned in sodium or sauces, which I appreciate. We got the passion fruit drink and the glass seemed old, outdated, and/or sticky/dirty but the drink itself was ok, it was fresh. It's a very small parking lot shared by other businesses so that could be challenging. Luckily we were there at 3 PM on a Sunday so we're able to find spots but definitely notice when we were leaving that it was filling up. The restaurant interior was old and outdated, but clearly you don't go here for the ambience. It seemed like there was only one guy who had to do everything, taking orders, bringing food, clearing the tables, getting payments, etc. we had a lot of questions as we were new, and my friend is vegetarian and he was really great in answering and even when we placed another order later, he remembered and told us it used a pork based soup. Would definitely return if I was in the area again.

Located in a "cozy" plaza with a somewhat frustrating parking situation. Came on a Saturday at 3:30pm. Only a few other parties so found seating right away. Menu has plenty of options. Decided on the braised catfish clay pot and pea shoots with tofu. Rice was extra. Dishes came out in decent time and were absolutely delicious! I was very impressed with how much I enjoyed this meal. I devoured this meal happily. Would return in a heartbeat!

That's the kind of can-do attitude we're looking for.Thanh Do Restaurant is a very well-Yelped restaurant that replaced a favorite of mine, Tai Buu. Boasting a 4.7 star rating at this moment, this restaurant had a pretty full dining room when we arrived. Fortunately, we were picking up a takeout order which they even notified us via phone when it was ready.I'm always looking for certain dishes, such as their #73 Bo Luc Lac ($11.95), aka Shaken Beef. They do a great version. The meat is super tender and it's seasoned well, but the lime/salt/pepper condiment livens up the show. The veggies are fine but not especially generous. I'd definitely order this again though.I also tried the #56 Ca Bong Lau Kho ($10.95), or Catfish in Clay Pot. The catfish was very tender, but it was perhaps a little bland. I wouldn't have minded a more intense sauce in both saltiness and caramel character.Lastly, I had some of the #32 Canh Bac Ga Ca ($16.95), which is their sweet and sour soup with taro stem, bean sprouts, pineapple, and catfish. It's not heavy, but it's full of flavor. I would also recommend this dish.Thanh Do is a pretty good option for Vietnamese food in the area. I wouldn't mind having some of their dishes again while exploring more of their fairly extensive menu.

This is my second time at this place. Walked in on a Monday and it was not super busy. About half empty. Greeted by a bunch of people working and sat close to the door. Immediately we walked in and it reached of fish sauce. I guess that is an epitome of what a Viet restaurant is like, but if they would have opened the doors, I would've given him five stars for a better airflow.Food is pretty good. Traditional home cooking in a Vietnamese kitchen. $43 for all shown, not including $1.50 per person/rice.Meal is good enough for 2zOne star less because there is horrible circulation. It smells too strong of fish sauce.

The food here is great! Everything is super flavorful and cooked to perfection. My favorite dish (that I highly recommend) is the shaken beef! The steak was cooked perfectly & has such complex flavors coming through. The signature dish here was the pork belly cooked in the claypot, also really good! It definitely is on the sweeter side so if you don't like that I wouldn't reccommend. The catfish is also equally as good. So many great dishes, I would recommend coming with a group of people so you can try many of them!! The service is great and attentive. Would come back again!

This is a little gem in Little Saigon. If you don't live close to home then this is the closest to your mom's kitchen. The restaurant is clean and the friendly Hispanic server knows every Vietnamese dish on the menu.My favorite is their famous shrimp and pork belly in the Claypot. This is serious Vietnamese soul food or your mama's cooking. Everything is tasty. Reminds me of a lot of the dishes my mom would cook growing up. Restaurant close on Wednesdays and parking is a little hectic but worth every bite.

Legit Vietnamese Com Phan here. Price is good and excellent dishes of catfish caramelized, seafood soup, vegetable plates. Rice is an extra $1.50. They had a nice surprise banana dessert at the end I wasn't expecting. Good stuff !
