If you're from Orange County California, it's likely you've driven past this place and nearly crashed your car from the meretricious display of lights wrapping around the restaurant like it's a Christmas tree on ketamine. Tonight, I was deeply craving on of my death bed dishes, Tom kha, so we decided to surrender to the light and try out Thai Famous. First and foremost, if you think the exterior display is far out, you'll be pleased to know that the interior is just as overzealous. It's like walking into an amusement park but rather than the smell of stale weed and frier oil, you're immediately hit with the most brilliant and aromatic lemongrass/galangal spice combination wafting through the air. As you approach like a moth to a flame, you're greeted by a literal knight in shining armor nestled just next to the front door. Once you're in the space is far more intimate and riddled with character. Assorted pots and pans hang from the ceiling dripping with multi-colored lights. Mixed century trinkets hiding like easter eggs in a retro antique shop. Our favorite element had to be the massive black panther statue contorted and ready to pounce guarding the double doors leading to the kitchen. Abstract art leaving little evidence of a wall hiding underneath and a massive tv proudly displaying Bull Durham. And finally, with what seemed to be the piece de resistance - A purple motorcycle front and center with a stylish leather jacket to match parked alongside the front counter. We were greeted immediately and sat by a lovely woman who was speedy and bursting with kindness. We ordered my much-needed Tom Kha along with Pad See Ew and wontons. It was difficult to choose because the menu had well taken photos of every dish making everything seem like a must have. Once our minds were made up, our food came out quicky, hot, and even more delicious than expected! My beloved Tom Kha was served hot pot style, which if you've never had it, means it was set up like a little soup moat. With fire in the center and surrounded by spicy coconut goodness. This Tom Kha was the kind of good that warms your soul, like a hug for your insides. The Pad See Ew was perfectly seasoned with a subtle kick. The wontons were fried to a golden, crispy brown. Not too soft but nowhere near burnt with a truly generous assortment of dipping sauces. Seriously, this woman gave us an arsenal of all things sweet, sour, and spicy. I'm a "perfect bite" girl myself so the sauces were a religious experience for me. For reasons unbeknown to us, this angelic woman brought us a free dessert! It was fried ice cream, which I haven't actually had since I was a kid and my mom's boyfriend at the time wanted to impress his hot girlfriend's weird daughter. As it turns out, at age 28 I am the same amount of mystified by such witchcraft as I was at a spry 13. I feel compelled to mention that the song playing upon our arrival was none other than I Will Survive by the legendary Miss. Gloria Gaynor - a personal favorite- While our exit track consisted of Iris by The Goo Goo Dolls. Given the fried ice cream, the outrageous ambiance, and sweet song selection, perhaps our experience wasn't too far off from a classic carnival after all. I simply can't recommend this place enough, so if you ever find yourself tempted by the bright lights off Euclid and Chapman, please try it for yourself.

Whoa!!! This place is bright! We found this based on Yelp. It's open late and inviting. Free drink and free dessert. Not bad. Ordered pad Thai, yellow coconut and Tim yum.Flavor profiles are a bit salty or too sweet. Food was just ok. Nothing I'd come back immediately for but I do appreciate the free drink / dessert.

My sister had a coupon here and wanted to take me here. She has been here a couple of times & this was my first time. Today, the restaurant was very packed since it's a Saturday. We got the pad Thai noodles, combination fried rice, Fried Wonton, Tom Yum Soup, and Beef Salad. The pad thai noodles were delicious, cooked well, and seasoning is good. I would give this dish a 5/5 since this is the only dish I've heard. The combination fried rice was good, delicious, and beef was great. I would give it a 4/5 since I would add hot sauce and give it a little spice. The fried wonton was delicious, crunchy, and inside filling was excellent I wish there was more stuffing inside & the sweet chili sauce was amazing. I would give this dish a 5/5 since wontons are definitely my favorite dish. The Tom yum soup was delicious, great flavor, and love the spice. You can adjust the spice level of the soup whichever you like & including their protein options. I would give it a 5/5 since it was very delicious and flavorful. The condiments I love were the jalapeños and sriracha. The beef salad was delicious, well seasoned, and beef was cook well. I would give this a 4/5 since there was a lot going on and I'm probably not used to it. The Thai tea was delicious, great aromatics, and memories of the Thai tea bottle you see in the supermarket. I would give this a 5/5 since Thai tea is a staple beverage. They also give you free refills on Thai tea or water. The deep fried ice cream was okay, it's just the outer was too doughy, and reminds me of funnel cake but the ice cream was delicious. I would give this a 3/5 since the outer dough was not it for me.The service was fast & employee is very nice and friendly. They also gave a free coupon for a free entree and drink, which was very nice of them. The store has a great atmosphere, spacious, and clean. There is plenty of parking. I would definitely come back here to try their other food options.

My first time trying this place and I can't believe I haven't heard of it sooner! My friends and I got the pad thai, green curry, and crying tiger to share. All of them were good and not as spicy as I was expecting which is personally better for me. The crying tiger was my favorite because of how flavorful and tasty it was. Our meal also came with complimentary thai tea and dessert (deep fried ice cream) which was sooo yummy and sweet. Service was great and attentive. This place opens late too which makes it convenient. A nice cozy spot to grub with your friends. I will definitely be coming back

Delicious!Lots of vegetarian options too! I am a pescatarian and my husband is currently doing vegetarian/ vegan-ish for the month of January.Thai Famous Cuisine is a great option if you want to take a break from meat. All the entrees come with the option to add protein to your dish. Score! Also, if you are pescatarian like me- you can add shrimp. Service is great! I love that you get a free Thai Tea when you purchase an entree. Winning!! lolThe ambiance is a laidback restaurant, with Thai decor. Very nice to dine in or order take out.

One of my go to places for thai food! I love their pad thai and tom kha soup. The owners are very sweet people and do their best to take orders and get food out quickly. If you eat inside the restaurant not only do they offer a free thai tea but also sometimes they have free fried icecream for dessert! This time I ordered to go over the phone. My order was done at the exact time they said it would. I wish I had taken a picture of the packaging. They packed it so neatly. The pad thai, bean sprouts and peanuts were all separated and organized between foil to keep the pad thai warm and the fresh bean sprouts crispy! Definitely recommend coming here! Just be weary of long wait times, sometimes they can get realbusy!

The food here is always so good. This is our favorite place to go to right after Disneyland. It's open late past midnight so it's really clutch. My recommendation is the chicken pad Thai and pad see ew, you'll love it I promise. The flavor is always popping, the veggies are yummy, the meat isn't dry. The service here is always friendly. They've also improved their turn around time so it's definitely worth the try. Inside and out, ambiance is always welcoming. You'll definitely enjoy everything about this place.

I liked these:Pad see ew Thai iced tea These were ok:Yellow Curry Fried ice cream I love the service here and the atmosphere is incredible. Sadly the food doesn't live up to the rest of the offerings. I didn't taste any meat in my combination Pad See Ew. It was there but didn't have a lot of flavor. The Yellow curry is a lot smaller and more watery than I expected. The Thai tea is standard flavor wise but the free refills is appreciated. They even gave us a free Fried Ice Cream; texture wise, it's pretty good but doesn't have any interesting flavor to it. Overall, service and vibes are phenomenal. Good is unfortunately kinda bland.

I don't get why this place has over a 4.1 ... it's pretty run down and dirty. Which totally grossed me out. The food was average and expensive. Service was good. They give complimentary dessert and drinks which is nice but I wouldn't come here again or recommend to anyone.restrooms were disgusting and horrible.looked like a horror movie
