Tabu Shabu Huntington Beach

Tabu Shabu has been my go-to spot for Japanese hot pot for the past six years. We always arrive right when it opens at 5 PM to avoid the wait and take advantage of their 20% off happy hour deal from 5-6 PM, Monday through Friday.Here's what we usually order:Sukiyaki broth, large Angus beef, udon, brown rice, carrots and spinach.Spicy miso or plain water with kombu, regular Angus beef, shiratake noodles, white rice and all the veggies.One of my favorite things is the garlic, sesame oil and green onion seasoning they put on the raw beef. It adds so much flavor as it cooks. They also provide generous servings of ponzu and goma sauces which are perfect for dipping. I appreciate the shiratake noodles as a gluten-free or low-carb option.During the pandemic, we often ordered takeout and enjoyed their delicious hot pot at home using our electric pot. Even now, we occasionally opt for takeout when we're in the mood for a cozy, leisurely meal at home.The servers are always attentive and incredibly helpful making the dining experience even better. We love coming here and will continue to support this location!

I love Shabu and I especially love Shabu from this place - the food is always on point. Dana and Jacqueline are amazing Servers. They give the best food recommendations, always anticipate the needs of the customers and they always have a smile on their faces. What more can you ask for??? Oh and they can drink!Ambience here is perfect for a Shabu establishment. Comfortable seating, that is perfectly spaced and the dinning area well lighted but not annoyingly bright. Highly recommended

We had been here for over 6-7 yrs. We celebrated my kid's bday once. Great clean, cozy, u shaped bar dinning. The staff is very friendly, nice helpful and courteous to everyone. The menu is straight forward, you pick the broth (combo is aok), type of meats/seafoods/proteins...and that is pretty much it. It comes with veggies pate and udon, or you can request for rice. Easy to order or they can help you if you're new to shabu experience. The prices are seasonable and the foods are just simply delicious and feeling. The broths are refillable so I enjoyed it a lot over a hot sake (cold day) or cold sake on a hot day.

Solid shabu with friendly staff. You can customize your meal based on preferences - they're happy to switch out vegetables for one another if you prefer. Dinner is filling and affordable. They also have drink deals throughout the week, like buy one get one sake and happy hour specials.This location is hidden a few doors down from Trader Joe's, so it's usually not too busy either!

Sapporo and hot pot are a match made in heaven. This shabu concept is located in one of my favorite HB shopping centers. Our group of five stopped by on a Monday night and snagged bar seating with zero wait. I'd consider this a major plus considering hot pot waits in Orange County can be 45+ minutes. We ordered a round of Sapporo for the table and a few garlic edamame to share. While I love the concept of shabu, I don't eat red meat, so there isn't normally a ton of options available that fit my diet. I absolutely adored that Tabu Shabu had both chicken, shrimp, and salmon options available.I ended up ordering a regular bowl with salmon, sweet Sukiyaki broth, udon noodles, veggies, and brown rice. I literally ate every grain of rice in my bowl. The salmon is sashimi grade and cooks to perfection in just a few seconds. They share a parking lot with Trader Joes and several great local businesses. Parking is easy with one lot in front and back available. Heads up, this location only offers dinner hours. They do have a number of speciality offerings throughout the week, so be sure to research those in advance.

I've been coming to Tabu Shabu for the past 2.5 years, and this review is LONG overdue. The outstanding service and the amazing staff keep me coming back time and time again. Every visit has been a great experience, with a team that's always welcoming and attentive. The food is excellent and consistently top-notch. One of the best recommendations I've received was to mix the tonkotsu broth with the spicy miso. The depth of flavor in this combination is just perfect, and I haven't looked back since.

If you know you know....Tabu is the absolute best shabu you can find. Every holiday, celebration, birthday, etc. I come here. The service is always amazing, vibes are high, hot drops are hot, meat is great quality, wine is flowin. You really just have to try it yourself. 100/10!

Great casual place to get your shabu fix in HB. I was introduced to this last year and go at least 2-3 times a month! My go to is the sukiyaki with toro belly and getting the dumplings with crunchy garlic crunch is a must! They give a good portion of veggies and I love the toro cuts. Kathy has been my server and always makes sure I'm well taken care of (honorable mention to Kaloe!) You won't be disappointed here - the staff, the music, the vibes are awesome, you'll always have a good time!

This is my first time here. Upon walking in we were immediately greeted and seated. The two young staff members helping us were so kind and informative! They told us about their recommendations and helped us through each step of ordering and eating our meals.The ambiance is welcoming and unique with colorful modern artwork on the walls! I'd highly recommend this place to other people.
