the outside of a donut shop
The food here is not good at all. If you're really hungry you eat anything. But once I found this metal object in my food.
Outdoor seating.
Orange chicken and teriyaki chicken
Back at it again!
Orange Chicken
a container of noodles and vegetables
a plate of noodles and meat
a plate of noodles and vegetables
After we ate now need a nap from all the food we ate!!

Support your local business, I'm looking forward to trying their hot food when business picks up. Purchased with card tacks on a $0.39 charge. Pastry prices beat those of the Cafe Car on Amtrak Surfliner.

Note; they Charge a few cents if you use a credit or debit card but if you are out of cash its convenient.

Why won't anyone post pictures of their food?!I was debating on whether or not to come here for lunch but found no pictures of what their food looks like on yelp, so I decided to be the genie pig. This location is literally at the curb where you drop off passengers to the train. It says it's for drop-off but according to the ladies at Starwok, they are very lenient about it. Upon entering I saw a few trays near emptied. I ordered orange chicken and teriyaki with the lady at the counter and she told me that it will just be a few minutes for the fresh batch so I waited.I got my food about 3 minutes later. I'm glad that I waited because it came out piping hot and the orange chicken was CRUNCHY, W00T!! The sauce was a little on the sour side (like a tarty orange taste) rather if that is your thing. The teriyaki chicken tasted more like stir fry chicken. I consider that a good thing since it's not drenched in a blackhole of sweetness. My only complain would be that the food is a bit oily, but I mean, it's Chinese food! I will come back for sure, maybe tomorrow even...

When I would tell co-workers "I'm going to the train station for Chinese Food" I used to get the weirdest looks & rightfully so I guess! This place is no doubt a guilty little pleasure lunch choice for me. I started coming here for lunche way back in like mid 90's, since around 2000 I stopped working in the Spectrum area & haven't been back until around 2010 & was amazed they were still here??! LOL!Anyway, I like the ladies who run the place & the food for where it's located isn't 1/2 bad. Better than anything chain related like Panda Express. I typically get the BBQ/Teriyaki chicken & WHEN they actually have it the crispy chicken wings. The only problem is they're so inconsistent on having that item, not sure why??? I love the salty goodness of the fried chicken wings! However, if they don't have that then I'll typically get the Orange Chicken which is okay but not my favorite.

+ Chinese food takeout is available+ One of few places open early at train station+ Friendly owner+ Outside seating-/+ Prices are a little highI walk by this place every weekday at the Irvine Metrolink/Amtrak train station. Fortunately it is one of the only places open early (6am sometimes) mornings. You can pick up some tea/coffee/breakfast here if you skipped it at home. The owner also works at Donut Star on Irvine Blvd on other days as well as I've seen her there. Very friendly.Prices are a tiny bit high, but nothing crazy. I've noticed the muffins are from Costco (since I buy them too haha).Based on other reviews, this place also has Chinese takeout afterwards. I don't think I would ever be in a spot to come here for actual food, but I'm glad there's the option. There are a lot of businesses close by and it is the perfect area. There is also plenty of outside seating.I've noticed the hours of operations isn't always adhered to strictly. The first year or two I came by, it would be closed at 6:00am. Now sometimes it is open. I try to save money by not buying breakfast here, but sometimes when I'm in a bind, and it is closed, I have to go hungry for a few hours for my train ride to LA.

This is the first time I found the place open. It was early morning so the Chinese food wasn't out yet. All I wanted was a doughnut and coffee anyways. The coffee and doughnut wasn't bad. The lady behind the counter was nice. Since Metrolink doesn't serve coffee it was nice to get a cup here.

Simple, quick, and reasonably priced. Good food for grabbing a bite at the station and also had some snack selections to buy for the trip.

A super convenient place for a quick meal by the train station in Irvine. They serve donuts in the morning, cheap Chinese food during lunch. This is located on the NW side of the Amtrak, you can park on the curb for about 20 minutes, which is enough time to grab some food here. Or you can park inside the structure. They have your usual Chinese fast food on warming trays: orange chicken, BBQ chicken, beef and broccoli, chop suey, mongolian beef, crispy chicken wings, chow mein, fried rice, etc. Not the best, but it's pretty decent. A bowl is about $5, and they give a big proportion, so it's well worth your money. It's been around for years, has a pretty loyal yuppie and train traveler clientele, and it's walking distance from work. The owners are also friendly and chat with you, especially if you come by often.
