The service here was disappointing. The cashier(a guy in his 60s) had an attitude problem, which wasn't just directed at me; I overheard him being rude to the customer ahead of me as well. Both of us were only asking simple questions about prices. I haven't tried the food yet, so I won't comment on that. However, in Irvine area, this store isn't appealing enough for me to return and deal with the poor service again.

I liked it, not sure what's up with the low review... food is very authentic and I'm pretty sure the waitress spoke Szechuan dialect. Anyway, no diarrhea after the fact is a great indicator hahaha. Price-wise much cheaper than Szechuan Impression. We ordered 水煮兩樣 with lamb and beef, loved it. I've tried fish + beef, not nearly as good. Ranking it as the 2nd best Szechuan food behind Kuanzhai alley.

Most authentic Sichuan food I've had in Irvine so far. Entrees are made to order and served very quickly. There cold dishes are must try (you can chooses 3 dishes for one plate)! I would highly recommend stir fried pork with pepper and boiled beef!

Spicy City is an authentic Szechuan Chinese restaurant. Our server was friendly. She took our orders, brought out everything, and came by to refill waters without being asked. I love their cold dishes. You can choose three meat items for $15, or two meat one veggie for $13. I typically get three meat, but if I come with a larger party, then I would order a couple of the veggie dishes. They are somewhat inconsistent with how much they give you...so if you are lucky, you get a ton of food. This was my first time trying the chili chicken, and I really enjoyed it. The chunks of chicken were very tender, and there was a smoky spicy flavor with all the green chilis. I would definitely order this again.

If you're looking for home cooking Chinese restaurant, this is a great place. I love the fried shrimps and stir fried mushroom, tofu and fish. It's so good. We also ordered the soup. Such a simple meal and yet so delicious. The price is very reasonable. The young server was very good. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant.

If you like spicy Chinese food, *THIS* is the place. There used to be a Spicy City in San Diego that was pretty well-known. I wouldn't be surprised if this is a similar or related owner. A little pricey, but you get *AMAZING* food, and they give you a good amount as well.

Excuse the half eaten cold dishes, too delicious and forgot to take pictures ha. Love coming back to this place! they absolutely stack the portions when you order the cold/premade dishes. The pig ear, tripe, tendon in chili oil is all amazing and goes great with rice. The wood ear mushrooms, cucumbers and seaweed are refreshing and add a nice balance to the heat. Service is attentive and dishes come out reasonably fast. Some dishes are hit and miss. The spare ribs were a little dry. The deep fried intestines were great
